I think you'll find the first one was trying to mate with the second. The first was clearly a male (bellowing, elongated face, flattened forehead). Males are territorial whereas the females are not. Also they are NOT koala bears as they aren't related to bears. The closest relatives are the wombats. Koala is there native aboriginal name; meaning "no drink" in english.
