kyte was one of the toughest guys in the league and it took ray only seconds to send him crumpling to the ice - he was one of the best fighters in the NHL - period.
o yeah its much more classy to stand over a hurt player and rub it in his face and show boat...much more class. kocur's last punch started on the way down,,he didnt hit him when he was down. he didnt know he was even out at that point.

But don't feel so bad about Kocur. I think that last hit he put down was when both men were falling.
Plus, you get into a fight and the switch goes on with a lot of people. Hard to pull back and ease off when you're fighting a guy as huge as Kyte. You hesitate and you're toast.

We were chatting, and he said he'd meet up between periods to talk about the game if interested. After this fight, we met at the concession stands and he told me that Rob Ray said he'd never hit anyone harder in his career with one punch. I felt bad though, because Kyte was partially deaf.

I give Ray credit. He didnt hit him when he was down and out like Kocur did.Lost a lot of respect for Kocur when he did that.
