@RamNaima You need to have at least one level in the steal/pickpocket skill to get the thieving jobs aswell. If not, you'll just get the burglary. Sadly, you can't get a level in it later then come back to do the jobs.

You didn't have to juggle thieves into backstabbing position constantly, mages weren't the be all end all of the battles, and the combo system added some depth to the fighting. And since when were the battles in the first game not a clusterfuck??

@chesterblover DAO allowed for planning. Use stealth to move your rogue into a room, pick your targets, and then strike. Then have the mage immobilize the remaining targets while your warrior and rogues go to work. With just a little bit of work battles were a masterpiece and almost never a clusterfuck. DA2 just meant rushing in and spamming the attack button, no strategy beyond just wailing on the enemy and hoping your healer doesn't die.

I personally preferred everything about Origins, but I know many who liked 2 better. Honestly its just personal preference (Though Origins did have about 4 years more development time and such) of whether you like old school RPGs, or Action Adventure games. People still argue about which is better though...

@Joccaren Origins was amazing. The story was so epic. I cared not a bit for DA2's story. The epic feeling was not there. It seemed like a casual hack-and-slash with a voiced main character, and fantasy themes. DA:O Actually felt like an rpg. As JohnnyC133 said, battles would often seem like masterpieces, not a constant "Attack Button Spam". Origins, in my opinion, is one of the best RPG's ever.

@H41030v3rki110ny0u I'm honestly of the same opinion. Play some of the Baldur's Gate games - they're brilliant too. With DA2 Bioware basically said they didn't want to do RPGs anymore, and we all see how that turned out. It wasn't an RPG, and I didn't find it near as fun as Origins. Hell, it was more of a grind to get through than Origins, and Origins is the 80+ hour game with slow and tactical combat.

@Joccaren I have actually been playing Baldur's Gate 2 recently. RPGs such as it are a refreshing feeling. That's how I feel about Bioware. I felt somewhat the same with Mass Effect 2, how it lost a lot of its RPG feel, but not on a level of Origins --> DA2. I thought the fast paced action would be a neat change from the slow Origins combat, but I figured out quickly I liked the latter far, far better. How every locale looked very similar irked me more than almost anything though.

It probably would have even made it better than Origins had the combat been a little bit faster paced. Sadly, they F***ed up everything and resorted to button mash combat.
