  • do u ram the fuel

    ?

  • A way to do a bomb with that? I mean how do i mix them, quantities and how do i ignite it from a short distance? Innocent questions ;)

  • @trojano80 "bomb"? Also its a simple composition to make, if you need to ask questions on how to mix/ignite a basic composition like this then you probably shouldnt be making it - general rule of thumb in any pyrotechnics.

    - Go read up on it, you'll find the info easily and probably learn a lot more in the process... if you want an explosive composition, however, then this is not a great one to use...

  • If you use a liquid binder, like 200 proof alchohol. They won't explode on the launch pad like that :)

  • looks awsome :)

  • i work with zinc and sulfur rockets. they can be somewhat unreliable, but if you figure out how to solve the problems, thay can be very impressive. ill try and post a vid response

  • Nice music

  • nice music :)

  • YOU FUCKING STOLE MY IDEA OF DOING THESE AND SELLING EM AT THE BLACK MARKET!!!! jk, but seriously I've been working on this for a long time.....

  • i also saw 600 g in a shop named matas. i live in denmark) so i cant buy powder or kno3

  • u can buy sulfur in alot of shops

  • where can i buy sulphur

  • A bit disappointing, the first one worked and the rest were complete lemons. I think you may need to go back to fireworks school. Well Sulfur and zinc is really designed to be flash powder not rocket propellant, maybe just stick with KNO3 and sugar, be alot cheaper than zinc powder. Nice try, we learn from the failed attempts

  • What kind of music did you use?

  • The music is "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" by Vilvadi.

  • right i have made some crude zinc sulfur propellant to see if it worked and i was wondering what the proper method of making it is can someone help? i made some but its really hard to light

  • where do u get sulfur

  • You get sulfur from the Pharmacy or as dusting powder from an agricultural store. The real question is where do you get CHEAP zinc powder.

  • what r ur ratios

  • lol, love the Vivaldi!

  • totally haha. I sang this in choir

  • since sulfur melts at 112 degrees C, it can be melted, and the zinc added and molded into a propellant grain. Also by adding aluminum powder you can increase gas production and slow down the burn rate.

  • unfortunately, despite the slower burn rate, the increased gas production will drastically increase pressures and until you figure out how to make a propellant grain or find a way to cope with the increased pressures, a CATO is near certain.

  • Unless you can control the temperature well this can be a bit dangerous. We were just using a small propane stove to melt them together and had the occasional flare up.

  • This is the reason i have a candy thermometer. Also an electric stove (NOT IN THE HOUSE!) will provide a more even and consistent heating.

  • Definately, you want even heating, monitored/controlled temperature, and outside.

  • zinc and sulfur maybe ?! lol

  • Hi, can you tell me what the mix of that was beacause i have been trying to make rockes using kno3 and sugar and to be honest they dont take of because there usauly to heavy, i need sumthing more powerfull. ANd howmany grams was that?

  • I use recrystallized propellant. That is when the sugar, kno3 and karo syrup are dissolved in water and then the water is boiled down. The molecules are bonded at a molecular level and is very powerful. Look at my video on how to make rocket candy. Try using a piece of 3/4 inch pvc pipe by 4.5 inches long, a 1 1/8 inch thick nozzle with a 1/4 inch throat diameter and a 1/4 inch core going all the way through the propellant grain and an end cap glued on the end. Should be about 20 lbs of thrust

  • Yuor problem is in the nozzle. A. its is too small, B. your clay is not tight enough (otherwise it would do more than just poof) C. you are drilling your core grain WAY to far in. watch some of my vids, i learned the long hard way. LOL very nice though

  • You seem to know a lot about rockets! Can you tell me, what is the best propelant,,,rhis zn/s or kno3/sugar??

I need the most powerful rocket propelant out of those 2.

Also i heard that you can add aluminium and amonium nitrate to znc/sulhur to make it more powerful.

Some people say zinc / sul isnt even a proper rocket fule. Whats your advice?

  • recrystallized kno3/sucrose is really powerful if done right. A C sized engine will have the thrust of an estes D engine albeit for a shorter burn time. I just made one today. 3/4 inch inside diameter sch 40 pvc pipe by 5 inches long with a 1 inch thick nozzle and a 13/64 throat diameter. Estimated to be in the F class

  • lol

  • where did u get the zinc dust

  • The internet

  • Damn, it's fixed in the video just not the title.

  • Yes i have a question. Could I take zinc supplement (zinc gluconate) and somehow break it down into zinc dust using hydrochloric acid?

  • Foxtrotx1 is the one you would want to be asking here, but even if you could break it down that would be a very inefficient way to get zinc. I think you'd only get 1.4 grams of zinc for every 10 grams of zinc gluconate you break down, assuming you could isolate it with 100% efficiency.

That's using [(C12)12+(H1)22+(O16)14+(Zn65)]/(Zn65)=percent yield of zinc

  • Actually take that equation and raise it f(x)^(-1)=percent yield.

  • You spelled sulfur the UK way, which is now obsolete according to the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry.

  • ...you need a girl frend buddy.

  • lol
