Y'know. It JUST hit me, watching this. What if the laughter is supposed to symbolize the Planet? Remember, they said that the Planet was crying when it was hurt. If it had finally healed (also remember that it took over 2000 years for the START of the crater to heal), it wouldn't be crying, right? What if that laughter's supposed to show that the Planet's finally healthy and happy? oxo; -just a thought-

And actually. This also makes sense, too. 'Cause I think it was Bugenhagen who said that the Planet was like a sick, hurting child in the game. And that's the laughter of children. So it DOES work, but I guess it's hard to tell if it actually is the case or not.

I don't know if there is an answer to this but... I'm playing final fantasy 7 and reading everything for the first time. (had no patiences when i was like 9) And I'm wondering if this is the promised land, and thats Neo Midgar, Pres. Shinra said that the promised land has much vegetation and with that there will be mako, and shinra will build Neo Midgar on the promised land... This is only my theory and I do not know the answer and don't want to know :p

i finished it right now for the first time ;) a question: the starfield after this scene is a neverending scene, right? no possibility to play the game again (without missions, just to beat some weapons) like in FF and FFII? =)

i think its meant to be make it ambiguous as to whether the human race are also around 500 years later, could be that laughter might belong to something else....or i could be wrong :P

This part always confused me. Why would it take 500 years for the planet to recover? Ultimately, I wonder what ever happened to the human race. The planet recovered but what ever happened to the people who lived there?

There were people other placed than midgard of course, look at advent children, they survived.

because the movie is right after this

and that means if it was 500 years later cloud would be dead but clould is not dead in the movie
