  • that's exactly what I've done..and it worked :)

  • I love your video.

  • My wife has previously told me that eating the same calories, like 1400 on average, your body will get used to it and you're supposed to have a high day, like 1700-1800 one day a week to trick your body.

  • wow, Shanti!

Someone sent me a link to this video in respons to my recent video about counting calories where i had some questions.

I had never really gone back to your earlier videos after i Subbed to you- so this is the earliest video of yours that i've ever seen!

    You look so different here!

Yay for you! well- you looked great here too- but u know what i mean! LOL

  • when i was younger i had great metabolism and i could eat all day and not gain an ounce but now i'm 29 with 2 kids and about 40 pounds overweight. i have been walking daily for weeks and cutting out junk food but when i weighed myself today i gained nearly a pound. i found your videos today and you seem to know what your talking about so i have adopted you as my diet guru. i am going to calculate and count calories. thank you for the assist.

  • i really love taking Hot Hoodia Plus, it made me lose weight and i also love the energy.

  • The fitness book I bought that's called The Body Sculpting Bible for Women says it takes your body about two weeks to adapt to changes such as food habits and an exercise routine. Do you have that book or have you heard of it?

  • Im watching your video's from Day one and one. I love watching them, Your such an amazing inspiration!!! I know i've said that before, but you are!!! ;D

I'm thinking about starting a online weight loss diary to, it might help me stay motivated, because that's my main problem. I start life changing food habbits, but seem to have trouble with staying that way...hopefully a online diary might help me with that :) Keep doing what your doing!

  • Great videos..but you have one thing mistaken i think..I just got a bodybugg and this is what my coach told me. To burn a pound, you have to burn 500+the calories you consumed. So if you eat 2000 calories a day you need to burn 2500. But you burn a LOT of calories just by living.

  • That is exactly what I am saying here. If you figure out your losing-weight calories, that # is how many calories you burn just by living MINUS 500. I currently burn 1950 calories by existing, so I eat about 1450 every day. And when I exercise, I eat as many more calories as I burnt, to account for the extra energy burnt.

  • you rock! you are an excellent vlogger and I learned so much from your videos about health stuff! i recently lost 10 pounds by doing most of things you talked about mainly exercising and recording all my food in a journal. and i plan to lose 28 more pounds! thanks again!

  • Thank you so much! I hope you get to your goal :D And thank you for watching!

  • hi me again ^_^

I figured out my weight and height

but I can't figure out how to count calories

I was just wondering if you can help me?

    I weight 158 my height 5 foot 9

    please reply

  • You are really close to "goal weight" and are well within the normal weight range for your height. My goal at 5'8'' is to be 150, with a dream goal of 145 - I can't imagine you want to lose more than 15 Lbs unless you're incredibly small-framed. My whole point is that you're not going to change weight quickly because you are so close to your ideal weight.

  • oh thanks for telling me ^_^

  • Most foods have labels on them and if you read the "serving size" and portion out your food, calorie counting is pretty easy. But you have to remember to do it. For things that don't have labels (fruit, etc.), I use calorie-count(.)com to calculate the calories. I also do most of my cooking at home so that I can figure out the calories, because restaurant food is a nightmare to figure out, and usually high-calorie anyway.

For your height and weight, you should be eating about 1500 calories/day.

  • Here in Canada, it's the law to put nutrition labels on food, and provide nutritional information at resturaunts when prompted, as well as an ingredients list. It's very conveinent, no? Although, like you said with things like produce, a calorie count website is definitely best! :)

  • how much did u weigh in the begining when u first started. and how long it took u to lose weight.

  • All of this info can be found in detail on my channel page. Before demanding answers of me, it would have been good of you to check.

I started at 218.3 Lbs in January. I am now 181.8 Lbs. I want to be 150, so I still have 30 to go.

On average, I lose about a pound a week.

  • o yes I drink water first thing b4 coffee, and I have started eating bfast since talking to you and kelly :)

  • This is one of the VERY first videos I watched from you...very good. I understand how calories work. I am not sure if the low calories stims from my past, or just that I am eating foods that are better for me now. I wasn't hungry yesterday and I only consumed 650 cal, I am even counting neg cal foods now, so...I am not sure. Today will be better, I also find that I try to leave room for a beer or two and then don't want one, so...then it is too late to eat. But great vid!!

  • Cool. Well, my point is that no matter if you feel hungry or not, you should keep your calories around the same every day. Bouncing around is really going to hinder your weight loss. Consider how much you want to lose and think of the time it will take to lose it going by how you've been losing - if you keep your calories EVEN you can nearly cut that time in half. I think you're missing the point, which is that accelerated weight loss comes from an even calorie level every day.

  • sounds like a very calculated plan. good luck.
