How to escape/dodge a blue shell at Mario Kart Wii

i dodge blue shells all the time - it's pretty easy actually. You only need a mushroom, and doesn't matter if you drift boost.

Just make sure you have a mushroom, wait until you see the blue shell on screen directly above your head, and just as you see it start to take a dive, use the mushroom and then you'll be fine.

My way of dodging blue shells is as I see one appear next to somebody on the left side of the screen and let somebody pass me so they get hit instead of me, ha ha ha however, if they know how to dodge it, my plan could backfire, hmmm.... =<

Hold on to B and Glide a Way, then wiggle the steer then It will turn blue and youll have a boost

He didn't use a mushroom he was using 2x turbo boost it makes the karts move faster round corners than bikes.

earlier in a lap on n64 mario raceway there was a pow block and some one lost their mushrooms the blue shell came and i hit one of the mushrooms at the perfect time and got away!

no i wasnt... but now i think i know what happened. the blue shell was shot while i was in first place but i got hit by some items and got in 5th place, and then a few moments later the shell hit me.

if it is the 3rd lap, and some people have already crossed the finish line, when someone then shoots a blue shell, it hits the person closest to crossing the line. so if 10 people are left in the race of 12, when the back person gets the shell, it will hit the person in 3rd place because they are the closest to the line

Don't be retarded. The blue shell shouldn't even exist. It's a retarded item that completely ruins it for the player that actually has enough skill to stay ahead. And:

1. You HAVE to have a mushroom to do this, which means you have to save it from an earlier position in the race.

2. The AI in single player is practically designed to fuck you over with a blue shell at the last second.

he used mini turbo not the mushroom. he still had the bananas behind him when the blue shell explode after the mini-turbo he used it, but it was useless.
