  • Nice pics..thaknic pics, thanks for sharing.. I love stealth camping in Ontario, it's tough and that's a good challenge.. I live on Vancouver Island now and it's very easy to camp without being seen, fortunately!

  • Beware of the Darker Than Blue people, as they hunt in packs and will feel entitled to your belongings.

  • do it way higher up in trees! it'l make you feel Ewok like.

  • Ever had a badger get in your face in a late nite/early morning dispute over vittles?

I'd worry about an ass-kickin' from a bear so much I wouldn't sleep.

  • Stealth camping with BRIGHT RED BAGS?!

  • Good music

  • So why do you need to be stealth?

  • @thatfukinfreakshow I was paying for the oil change.. I'm not a scumbag junkie.. I'm not even a swave hipster junkie.. Good luck..

  • I was in Memphis getting my oil changed at a Walmart and went out behind the property parking lot and looked in the woods and there was a huge illegal alien camp site. I'm guessing 20 to 30 Mexicans were living behind the Walmart. Are you concerned about safety? How long could you live this way without wearing yourself out?

  • @wwood14 I live in memphis and i know exactly what your talking about! that group (which is slightly larger then you described, closer to 50) stands outside big stores like home depot , lowes, ext and get hired for handy jobs. Im not sure if this answers your question but they have been there for 1.5 years+ which is a staggering amount of time, but it seems you can sustain life for a very long time before "wearing yourself out". Take into consideration the quality of life you have right now also

  • 1:54 Canoe?

  • Was it always easy to find camping sites? I'm thinking of going down the Danube from Passau to Budapest and then over through Slovenia. I'm worried that there might not be easy to find sites in Austria although google satellite images suggest there should be. I love my hammock and my bicycle!

  • Bikes and Birkenstocks - for a minute there I was SURE you were a fellow Oregonian! ;-)

  • Ahh, the Hennessy Hammock: the plush, comfortable, shelter-supreme for stealth campers everywhere. I love it!

  • Seems like stealth camping is pretty much just so everyday people get to see what its like being homeless.

  • what is stealth camping?

  • @paintbaler94 Camping on a vacant overgrown lot. Bike tourers or backpackers can only travel so far in one day and hotels motels are expensive. It is not wise or safe to stealth camp. Homeless people like to bush down at night. Landowners do not want homeless camps on there land. FTRA and illegal aliens are known to rob and rape homeless people. In the wilderness fine but in town, deathwish.

  • @bluemountaindrivepae Those illegal aliens have really stumbled onto a goldmine robbing homeless people, I hear it's an epidemic. The aliens also seem to really have a thing for a nice smelly piece of homeless ass in this area too...

  • nice stealthy bright red bags....

  • I love how my Hennessy looks too

  • very cool. power to the people.

  • I'd worry about getting robbed.

  • @jahhmin if anyone knows you are there you are not stealth camping. Stealth camping is camping out of site on unfenced, undeveloped land from sunset to sunrise only.

  • @allanstokell Yes i know. When someone does end up seeing you, gettin robbed is a definite possibility.

  • @jahhmin

don't think that's very likely. Everybody knows a camper has gear like a knife or an axe, also a camper probably doesn't has thousands of Dollars or anything else of huge value, so why take a big risk for little profit?

  • @HomoGnosticus People get killed over 5$, then they go to prison for life. That's a good example of big risk, small profit.

  • @jahhmin

Then best thing is you avoid to go outside the house, you easily could get stabbed by someone,

  • @HomoGnosticus Let's not get into extremes here. Don't compare simply going outside to sleeping in a dark forested area where you're not supposed to be, it just doesn't work.

  • @jahhmin

Why not? Probability to die violent death or get robbed in a city is higher than anywhere in the woods. Info 100%.

  • @HomoGnosticus Isn't this "stealth camping" done in the city in small patches of forest?

  • @jahhmin

Don't know, I think it's supposed to be everywhere where it is not officially allowed to camp.

  • @HomoGnosticus Oh ok, well I'm referring to busy cities, such as Toronto where I'm from.. But in quiet, small towns? Sure, that's a totally different story.

  • @jahhmin You could set up trip wires with bells and stuff to alert you of approaching assholes, like cops or others bad vermin that tries to ruin your sleep. :D

  • @jahhmin

I am worried a KKK meeting may start in my base camp.

    Make note, "bring white sheets".

  • Please look in my favorites there is a compromize if you need to add a motor to your setup there are these pusher motors it would allow you to keep most gear on the trailer and you have the option to turn off the motor and pedal into your camp site.I have difficulty pedaling back knee surgery. I love to stealth camp I did it in the 80's with a honda silverwing. Love your video thanks for posting.

  • spelling error on stealth. Needs an 'l'. Nice vid though. Cheers.

  • I lIke the music!

  • lol___exactly my camp btw the Vltava river near Řež (Prague- Czech) and rock.

have simply hammock ,,ticket to the moon,, and inflate matt .

  • I can't use a hammock because they kill my back. But I do enjoy stealth camping. I take a very small one man tent and usually obscure it with brush. Really nice photos. Stealth camping is the only way to go!

  • Wow, now that's being homeless in style. & I say that in a good way! cheers~~~

  • BIVY IS NOT LIGHTER! Hammocking is totally superior

  • 0:28 - the ultimate in stealth!

  • clark jungle hammock.

  • People stealth camp because cops are douchebag control freak assholes. They will use any excuse they can to ruin a persons life.

  • Yep, I have never heard the term "stealth camping" until now but it is what I have always done. I have my choice between paying for a camp site in a clear out field packed next to a bunch of tents which doesnt feel like camping at all, or hiking deep into the woods and finding my own spot and trying to avoid the park ranger. After i clean up my camp spot you'd never know i was there but the ranger would still give me a huge fine if I got caught.

  • @tempestaisback the risk of getting caught is most of the thrill

  • @douchebama Im hoping I find you on patrol trespassing...

  • @beungood I'm hoping that when you do find him on patrol trespassing, he has a bigger and better gun than you do.

  • @TheJeremyrussell Bigger and better doesn't cut most times. It comes down to tactics Knowledge and application of of aggression and violence. This always worked for us in the military.

  • @beungood

Don't you mean it worked for you in your boyfriends asshole?

  • @TheJeremyrussell You seem awefully pre-occupied with homosexuality? Hmmm Think you should come to grips with the training your dad did with you in the shower, that is if you know who he is.

  • @douchebama

"cops are douchebag control freak assholes"

Isn't insecurity and megalomania a job requirement in the police force?

Past work experience killing a wife or animal abuse is a bonus on the police application.

  • @solobackpacking No, douchebag, attention to detail, clean record and sound judgement.

  • @beungood

    Yeah right....

  • Hey Alan I think you're great

I've done a bit of stealth camping and prefer a small green tent because...

I can hide in bushes and shrubs and...

don't have to worry about finding a good tree fixture/support structure for a hammock...

but that's just FYI, you are clearly a master!

    Have a good future

  • @McGraffix

BTW, you can use a Hennessy hammock in the brush too. You don't need huge sturdy trees. You can hook to smaller ones or just use the hammock as a bivy and just support it with brush.

  • The pictures are the answer, waking up to that has to be brilliant, take the motorbike though, not into peddle power

  • Taking a motor bike is NOT stealth camping. Everyone will know you are there.

  • yea your right, I'll just stay in then

  • @allanstokell haha he's got you there. Not very stealthy at all.

  • @allanstokell Motor bike with off road tires black out to your campsite. But to me the ideal SHTF ride is the pedal bike you will need to hear what is occuring ahead of you go flying down the road on a motorbike dont locate fuel or get caught having to steal fuel you will be out of business a bike with a inflatable boat and you can avoid checkpoints go around bridges even camp in even stealthier locations. A one wheeled trailer would allow more gear and ability to shed gear once camp is set.

  • @allanstokell Not really although you may prefer to call it "guerilla camping". I've camped with a motorcycle since the 70's and only been discovered once. The trick is to make your evening meal somewhere else then scoot into your preselected spot just at the dark side of dusk.

  • @allanstokell theres this electric bike thats also peddle powered for like 2 grand at best buy. would you take one of those assuming it was quiet?

  • @bikedemon99 that's fucked man.. peddle power is the ultimate..get off your ego horse for once man

  • The video did NOT answer the question it posed! It's just a collection of pictures.

  • hammock and tarp is the future of camping i've got DDhammock and tarp set up an ammasing nights sleep

  • whats stealth camping

  • stealth means you can't see it .

  • Using common sence and camping without being seen by the general public appling Bushcraft skills and leaving the area as if you were never there.

  • I use multi tarps no hammock , I make my bed on site using dead limbs I cut and latch together 4 stakes (about 2 ft .long or measured to the lenth of my leg -30 in. ) and two poles (about 6 ft.)making a bed and I use rope and criscross between them . with a sleeping bag it's just like a regular bed .

  • nice bikes but why do u also use front panniers and a hammock in Europe. a bivi is fine in europe and much lighter. and also how do u cover up your bikes and panniers at night, because we always have to use branches and leaves which takes a long time and makes a lot of noise.

  • My hammock weighs less than a kilo. If you see one, you will know why. You lay flat while in the air and no worries about what is on the ground. Always a dry good nights sleep. The panniers are covered with CADPAT digital camo covers (see my website). The entire bike is CADPAT and very hard to see, even up close. Pictures to come.

  • o ok cheers!(cnt c that video what's it called?). and also there isnt nething on the ground that would harm u in europe well apart from a few snakes.and a bivi is allot lighter

  • A few things on the ground could be water (worst of all), twigs, tree roots, ants and other biting insects etc. Believe me I've stealth camped in Europe enough to know. Also in Germany there are wsmall wild animals, boars and deer and I'm told the occasional bear. Camping on the ground is for people who stay in campgrounds. I wonder if that is why they call them "camp-grounds"?

  • Cool. So how do you like sleeping in a hammock compared to a tent?

  • With a hammock you don't need to worry about what is on the ground. All you need are 2 trees.

In Netherlands it's not always easy to find a place to stealth camp and campsites often have no trees at all!.

The Hennessy hammock allows you to sleep flat, so sleeping is so much better than a tent. Please check my website for more info

  • Yeah, the Netherlands isn´t really suited for any adventurous outdoor camping at all, unfortunately. Although I do know an actual camp-site in the middle of the forest nearby. I´ll checkout your website.

  • I love the Netherlanders, and I was treated well, but of all my vacations, the time I spent in the Netherlands were the most difficult. I personally found the area along the coast inside Belgium and the area around the German boundary had more trees.

  • I do stealth camping too! I love the music you used for this clip! Could you tell me which music this is?

  • Hi,

The music is royalty free from YouTube. When I posted this originally, they said they thought my score was pirated, so they suggested some music. I hope this helps.

    Allan

  • Thanks, Alan.

  • What type of hammock are you using and how many pounds of gear and food can you carry in your bike bags??

  • I wonder if I will have much luck stealth camping in France. I plan to visit the province of Normandy, the Paris area and the Grenoble area. Obviously Paris is a no. I wonder if you can take your bike in the hotel rooms there though since apparently the likelihood of having your bike jacked in France is good if you leave it outside.

  • France is less heavily poplated than Netherlands or Belgium, but keep in mind camping on agricultural land is a real no-no. Google Maps is good to spot areas such as large parks and nature areas. Properly done you can stealth almost anywhere. You need the right equipment and proper training.

  • Thanks for the info m8.

Training though? I'd have thought common sense would be sufficient, what do I need training on specifically?

  • Common sense is over-rated. We don't know what is the criteria. Also each country has their own trespass laws. That and being trained on the use of camo and correct equipment can make the difference between a good and bad stealth experience. Don't think this is too easy. Properly done stealth camping is a fine art.

  • True, I think I should be okay though, I'm good @ hiding.

  • Looks exciting and ultralight.
