  • COLT Hartford Ct!!!!!!!!!

  • 00:53 hes hold the colt gun like a gangster XD

  • Yeah I was wondering if they Military would go with the .40 S&W it seems like a great overall round for that sort of job. It packs a wallop and it still has something like 12-14 round mags usually. I sure wish I could afford a Colt 1911, oh well maybe one day. =/

  • @Peidmonte89 i hear you man..the 1911 cost as much as my ar 15 and cost more then other brand ar's..lol still though im saving for one

  • A really interesting educational video. I love the history and heritage of this pistol. I just bought a BB firing replica which is the best we can get in the UK. We had handguns banned here, and the result is law abiding citizens can no longer own a handgun, but criminals can buy them in the right pubs, and the Government does nothing. The USA shooting fraternity deserve huge respect for not allowing this shit to happen to them.

  • @londonbill100 im sorry for your loss..and im over here bitching about 10 round mags but cant even have a gun..ill shut up up now..

  • what do you mean when you said releasing the slide on an empty chamber is not good?

  • I want your knive, I don't care about the gun anymore, I just want that knive.

  • The greatest pistol ever manufactured.

  • You can get 8 round mags for those hell I even bought a 15 round mag for mine. And really? You can't handle a .45? What the hell type of american says that.

  • @lasershow215 Not dirrected to you, to the soldiers.

  • Can u shoot a rpg

  • I taught the Glock (G23/23) for many years at an academy range for law enforcement personnel. It is a fine gun to shoot and teach, but I still feel that the best combat handgun is the 1911-series. I have a .45 Springfield Armory M1911A1 and a .45 Colt Officer's ACP. I will carry either in concealed carry with no problem. If you want to carry one, then get "hardwired to the 1911" first through training in it's safe operation.

  • Great teacher! Remember the Alamo!

  • im 13 and i can shot a 45acp 1911

  • @TheMegalaser i yam sixtee tree and i kan spel

  • @TheMegalaser I'm 12 years old and what is this.

  • i have an original colt 1911 government model pachmayer combat special from 1978 and its still the best handgun iv'e ever owned. also great review thanks

  • "If you can't shoot a .45 ACP you don't belong in the military anyway."

    I love it.

  • @alphadogs1 It's true I have seen children shoot 1911's with out bitching

  • you definitely wouldn't hear complaints from the infantry

  • that Americans think that apple pie is typical American i find really annoying. We have eaten apple pie in europe before the USA declared independence. During the times when we i Sweden were vikings we ate a lot of apples and made pies, that was around 800 A D... But good video :P

  • @Moonrift Yeah, but have you TASTED an American apple pie? You europeans make pies that taste like dirt. You may have done it first, but we do it better

  • @kimberHD45 Mabe your pie tasted a bit better, sometimes. But thats becouse our contains apples and flour where your only is made by fat. Fat taste good, but you americans have a serious weight problem too ;) Have you ever been to Europe? Visited Stockholm? If no i really dont think you have anything to say. But i like USA, i like your food. But after 3 weeks on the east coast i honestly felt a bit sick. But a probably just need some time to adjust my body to three times more calories ;)

  • @kimberHD45 ... And I dont want to flame this but: Yes, americans do a lot of thing vary good, but I can assure you that I can make a loooooong list of stolen technology that americans just taken and claimed to be their own.

But thanks for helping out whith the germans during both world wars =) Im sure the colt played a big part in that

  • I own a mk4 series 70 gold cup national match... luv it <3

  • I served form 88-92 and the USN was still using the 1911. To be honest, I never served on a ship the had anything other than the 1911.

  • "If you can't shoot a 45 ACP, you shouldn't be in the military in the first place"

From that comment alone sir, you have discredited yourself and everything you stand for in terms of firearms. Not every branch of the military is combat oriented and not all of us go out everyday and say "how many (insert racial slur here) am I going to shoot today?" Because of that comment from your mouth you have solidified my decision to only watch Hcock45 and his opinions on everything dealing with firearms.

  • @markisbaldcore

Thank you for that overreaction. We won't miss you.

  • @markisbaldcore

Also, you should know that the fact that some military members may not be in combat arms is irrelevant. People who are armed, regardless of what they do, are armed so they can use the weapon. Please don't rage about the military with zero knowledge of it.

  • @markisbaldcore WTF is a branch of the military for, if not "combat oriented"???

  • @kimberHD45 men who stare at goats :)

  • they are called POG's

  • I have a 8 round clip and my 1911 has a muzzle break on it. ..plus, laser sights from the handle..a really cool gun!...;-)...oh, I have tracer bullets too!..;-D

  • i shot a para ordinance 1911 in .45 easily today no soldier should complain about recoil of a handgun a 15 year can handle

  • Great review. Seriously, if you can't shoot a .45, why are you in the military, right?

  • Very nice pistols you've got there sir :) and you've made great video.

My personal favorite... 1911, piece of beauty and history... hoping to buy it one day.

    Greets from Croatia,

    Alex

  • .50GI: When .45ACP just ain't enough...

  • WHERE CAN I GET A FIREING PIN AND A SPRING AT

  • I was shot with a colt 45 :(

  • @silversolb18 ow! :(

  • dude mine is chrome and brown

  • Perhaps the most attractive pistol of all pistols. You're right, this pistol is as American as Apple Pie. Watching TV shows like "The Untouchables" with Robert Stack and "Swat" series in the 70's with Steve Forest infatuated me with the.45 automatic by its sleek design. I've never fired this weapon but I've fired the Glock .40 pistol. I can't wait to get an opportunity to get my 1st experience with it. God Bless American, God Bless the Republic!

  • 6:28 look closely you can see the bullet

  • Your videos are awesome!

  • 45 acp, to me isnt hard to shoot and im only 15, i shoot my dads 1911 and usp 45 all the time and it feels fine, even when i shot some really hot 357 magnums it felt just fine, some people mustve been real wimps back then, shit

  • "If you can't shoot a 45 ACP, then you shouldn't be in military in the first place" <3

  • Nice

  • Picking a Series 80 tomorrow. It has the "100 years of service roll mark. $989 here in Canada where they're hard to come by.

  • @jntroisi Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, Führen Sie aiken und waterman

  • always packa punch that gun it will get u up to lvl 40

  • that lead nose round looks Massive. i wouldnt want that even whizzing by me

  • Is it wrong to call this the AK of the pistol world?

  • @Keichwoud357 Glock derp derp

  • this is the only handgun i need , sks for a rifle, 870 marine magnum for a shotgun, and a girl with big tits.

  • @divinefart Screw the Simonov, use an M1 Garand!

  • It is interesting that you mention the "wimp factor", in regards to soldiers not being abel to handle the recoil. I worked in the Pentagon at this time, and there was immense pressure to get away from the the 1911. There was a HUGE influx of women enlisting in various MOSs, among those, the MP corps... The 1911 proved to be very difficult for them, and many female officers to qualify with. That changed with the Baretta, where qualification scores skyrocketed, once the Baretta was adopted.

  • Im a police officer in South Texas and i carry a COLT 1911 MK IV SERIES 70 GOVERNMENT MODEL .45 as my duty weapon with one hollow point in the tube and the rest full metal jacket.

  • Colt model 1911 .45 ACP, Magazine-fed, Recoil operated, 7 round mag, semiauto, N1 pistol ever made!

  • I luv this gun

  • Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, why ron Paul is, who is always bright in this cinematagraphy

  • Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, Karl hes, which block me

  • Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, I spent some time in the city on the Internet and I tried to think of the expression to describe over the Elegie and this now am the automatic Coltpistole of the expression, when each photos makes, which look them like performa trade marks and belgiums

  • its as american as apple pie and baseball hahaha greatest line ever

  • hell of a weapon acurate, reliable, and packs a hell of a punch i would take it over anything any time

  • Excellent review!

  • its funny when you mention soldiers in the Army complaining about the recoil on the .45, thats part of the reason they got rid of the M14 in Vietnam too., Cool video, nice grouping.

  • don't understand the whole "don't drop the slide on an empty chamber" it's not like the round cushions it any. whether there's a round in the chamber or not it's still going to close with the same force....

  • I got one made in 1918 that I regularly take out to the range

  • haha the first time i shot one of these guns i was twelve and i was fine with the recoil, so im pretty sure a soldier should be able to handle it

  • *edit to my last comment: I shot the 1911 commander.

  • I'm 14, 5'8 and under 100 pounds. I'm incredibly small and not the strongest but I have shot this gun and the recoil didn't mess with me that bad. How where people in the military bitching about the recoil?

  • so ya the M1911 colt is so good that a game(s) call metal gear solid(mgs) (3,4, and peace walker) is used for the guy u play as and i love using it. I like mgs 3 best becouse it has so much shit on it it makes me whana get one and do what they did to it. also if you hate the the gun that got rid of the M1911 you know the M9 give me a HELL YA!!!

  • Yeah you can carry more ammo with a 9mm, but it'll take less shots to put him down with the .45 ACP, so there's really no point in my opinion.

  • @Emaster03 agreed its called ammo conservitive lol

  • @Emaster03

9x19mm (9mm Luger to most Americans) is really sweet to shoot out of certain full size pistols like the CZ-75, Browning Hi-Power. If you're used to shooting .45 acp, 9x19 is like shooting a BB gun by comparison, you can put two shots within an inch of eachother in the time it takes you to acquire another sight picture with a 1911.

  • @Emaster03 even with a .45 your still going to want to double tap.. that's what i was taught

  • You people that are talking in a scornful way about gays in the military are simply disgusting. I have the utmost respect for every good man, especially ones that serve in the military. All men are created equal, but none are created the same. Just because someone was born different than you does not mean that you are any better. If you see yourself as better than others, than you have no respect. And those that dont respect each of their brothers do not belong in our great nation's military.

  • The other 1911 is a 70 series also. The trigger gives that away.

  • were you in the USMC sootch?

  • This is my favorite handgun of all time! i have three varients and im currently trying to get a nickel plated varient

  • Very nice review!

  • I spent 5 years in the US Army as a MP and I carried the Beretta M92 pistol on a daily basis. And, speaking for myself and all my buddies, we all wanted the 1911 back because most time if we were in combat or in a law enforcement capacity the 9mm was usually underpowered and outmatched by the attackers we were defending ourselves aginst. I WANT THE 1911 BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Axarno123 It's a 70 Series Government Model.

  • @sootch00 i have teh same pistol was my fathers first as well bough it new in the 70s still shoots better than even our kimber custom 2

  • If i ever gonna have a gun.. it would be a 1911. The classic Colt goverment is well known both from old and youngs today. Who knows how long it will be in stock..

Dont know how many of them is in my country.. =/

  • i have fired M9 beretta, steyr 9mm and 1911, and trust me fella, the grip of 1911 is much more comfortable and it is excellent for target shooting..

i shoot at 25 meters and i hit more bulls-eyes with 1911 than with M9 or steyr..

how much does it costs ? ?

  • hey can you do a review of the m16?

  • i can't get over how slim it is!

I'm debating between sig 1911 tacops and sig p226.

  • haha im 14 and shoot the Colt 1911 and have no problem with recoil

  • @dancingdeker You crazy redneck.

  • I taught marksmanship in the US Coast Guard and I can tell you this.. it was easy to teach the ladies how to shoot the .45 VERY well.. but they had one hell of a time with the fat handle an long reach for double action for first shot.

It was a terrible choice to move from the .45.

  • I keep saying I need a 1911 45. The question is which brand. After view this video I will start looking. Thank you for providing us with information to us. Have a great day.

    Denny

  • I keep saying I have to get an 1911. Now it is which brand. Thank you the information that you have provided to is. Have a great day.

    Denny

  • Actually as a Combat Medic we are still issued this weapon and then issued a assault rifle when put with an infantry unit and in a combat zone

  • i hate people saying "its a man stoper" there ALL man stopers! i garuentee u if you get shot anywhere on ur body excpet if it grazzes u you will be going DOWN idc at what range or anything even a 22 can kill u in 1 shot and its stupid people think ud get right back up and keep going and gunning after geting shot

  • orig.1911 colt 45 has a history of failures in the Philippine Moro insurgency, yet it saves a lot of American soldier life. The gun was made not for accuracy but close quarter shoot out agains determined enemies. My great grandfather told a story about an american officer and his men were surrounded by 10 or more Muslim Moros, all charging with their sharp bolos, with 45 cal, in both hand stop them cold. The next wave he wasn't lucky.. his 45 acp jam and he was hack in half in front of his men.

  • soon, i shall be killing rad scorpions with this gun.

  • Great review! Very comprehensive and informative. Thanks!

  • Picked up a 70 series yesterday from my local shop It is pretty dirty, but not too beat up. Great condition otherwise. My only concerns are the thumb safety. The thumb safety is rough at best. No click, but rather a lurch; almost a 2 handed operation, and certainly a 2 handed operation to disengage from full safe position. Do you think this may be a problem or just gunk? I plan to tear it down to the frame after work and run the small parts through a jewelry cleaner. Any suggestions?

  • I carried my 1911 for 25 hrs before being forced to carry a glock 40 cal for the last 6years at a large calif sheriffs dept. I plan on taking it with me to the next world. Although the glock always works and is reliable, it's dog ugly compared to my Colt.

  • My issue is a 1911 A1 pistol with Serial No. 1981277. It was reconditioned by ANAD in 11/89. I would like to confirm if by the Serial Nr. it belongs to Colt?

Does 5 pounds total weight of the pistol, a necessary weight for the caliber .45 to dampen its strong recoil? If not then the lighter .45 glocks are very shootable?

  • What do you think of the trigger compared to the series 80 version or other modern 1911's with the more extended trigger?

  • Im a police officer in South Texas and i carry a COLT MK IV SERIES 70 GOVERNMENT 1911 .45 at work but since i cant find any reliable ammo in hollow point my first round is a hollow point Plus P and all the rest are FMJ. If you know of any good ammo let me know.

  • When are you gonna make those Para-Ordnance reviews?

  • I can't stand shooting a .40 caliber. The darn thing felt like it wanted to jump out of my hands.

  • So what do you think of the Colt Government series 80 vs the series 70? I see the 80's have the extended trigger and wonder if it's better or worse.

  • damn fine gun. some say it's to heavy but personally (as a bigger guy) that just gives it a better feeling in the hand and when shooting it

  • Please make a Beretta 92FS review

  • Beautiful 1911...I got a kimber 1911 45 acp with 12 round mag..but I rather still shoot my glock 21with 40round...but u should do a video on the glock 17 or the glock 18...but to me I'm a big fan of the .45 family..just loving the power of the 45..

  • The only down side to that rascal is the confidence it gives you when its rideing on your hip. I carried 1911's religously during plain clothes leo work. Hindsight being 20/20; I probably let that confidence put me in some situations where I should have put some space between self, and zombies. That was back before you had ten cops to screw in a light bulb; all alone, with 40min+ response times being the norm. Nose to nose with zombies? Make mine a 1911!

  • Great Review, Im getting a Colt 45. Great Gun.

  • 1911s + apple pie + boobs + beer = AMERICA, FUCK YEAH

  • Another valuable review.

    Thanks!

  • I subscribed :)

  • I wish Colt would make a come back on their guns.

They should make somthing that would compette againts the Glock or Sig.

Since Colt makes AR 15 I would like to see Colt make a Tatical Shoot Gun now that would be the bomb if they did.

  • What does the manual safety locks, besides the slide? The trigger or the hammer?

  • love the colt .45 pistol but man it cost a pretty penny

  • Yeah, I'm gonna put That Pistol in to my own Game!

  • Seriously Beretta is a disgarce to firearms, couldn't agree more, Wimp factor? yup if you can't handle the recoil of a 45, I'm sure others will agree that we don't want your candy ass defending our nation

  • yeah! long live the republic and mr. sootch!

  • Come on you can say it... Beretta sucks. Personally I think that the best reason to replace it was the magazine capacity.

  • damn strait! this guy is DEFINITELY gonna survive the economic apocalypse!

  • You don't by some chance have Colts top of the line Special Combat Government model do you. If not have you ever shot one or seen one up close and seen it's craftsmanship first hand.

  • the reason why the military switched to the baretta 92f is because it hold a 15-18 shot magazine. the colt 45 can only hold 8 rounds. no solider would ever say the colt 45 auto was too tough for them to fire. its just a question of ''do i want an 8 shot clip or a 15 to 18 round clip

  • arent led bullets illegal or only some led bullets are illgale

  • @santoroyerdeantorcha

You sir are truly a faggot.

  • @SovietDouchebag Soa s you.

  • @santoroyerdeantorcha You Sir are a Dick!

  • @TheJames74s Shut up soldier, see the truth shoot a real mens gun and caliber.

  • @santoroyerdeantorcha I agree.... maybe because that pistol has lots of recoil, and those gay's complaint it ruin their nails and ears and started to drop those pistol and cover their ears screemmmmmiiinnngg .

  • @philip2go Yes, That pistol is a mans pistol, Thanks for your support. Keep it up. Let's show the army we want our old war horse back, I love CALL OF DUTY.

  • @philip2go They need to be shown what a real pistol is, I admit liking the 9mm but The .45 acp m1911 is a true gun. At least the US army should had used the Browning Hi-power It dosen't matter 9mm but at least is a Browning desing. Stupid gays.

  • @santoroyerdeantorcha Shot up.

  • @santoroyerdeantorcha I guess you're just afraid that all gays are going to try and hit on you and do you in the butt? You sicken me.

  • @MrTheCommander Its not fear to that my friend, Its the fear of what things have become. I will not join the US military till there's an M1911a1 45 acp as the main side arm and real men in the military, If not I'll join the KKK.

  • @MrTheCommander Openly gay people in the military sicken me.

  • @santoroyerdeantorcha

you and wafflecushioned should really think about what I just said. maybe you'll learn something instead of going through your whole life as an ignorant hardhead.

  • @willythefrog1 .45 acp mans caliber, for men and no girls allowed (9mm). Me ignorant? is about stopping power not how many bullets hit target nor muzzle rising. Thank you.

  • Love the finish on your colt!!

  • excellent review of what is surely one of the greatest firearm designs in the world thank you kind sir

  • Excellent review, sir. The Colt M1911 is one of my dream guns, and every time people try to suck off the 9mm to me and tell me how great it is, all I do is show them this video - it shows them the error of their ways DAMNED quick!

  • Do those get bad hammer bite?

  • great gun,,,agree hold heartadly and wish I had one and have always wanted one.

  • Hello. I have a particular Colt Government Model that has a paculiar barrel bushing called a collet (?). It clamps on to the barrel & I don't like it. I'd like to change it or replace it with a regular bushing. Can this be done? OR should I just leave it the way it is as it is a 70 series? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • nice video im trying choose between colt 45 commander stainless

and s&w 10mm fbi issue model 1076 i remember my dads army issue 1911 45 auto and it shot nice not to hard not too wimpy but i understand the 10mm will be alot more recoil so what you think i should go for thanks

  • hey sootch, i have a 1911 series 70 government, and i was curious about finding a commander barrel and slide and putting them on my 1911, if I did that would my gun still work correctly?

  • They can't handle the recoil!?!?!?! I'm 15 and I can handle the recoil!!!! They are wimps...

  • I like the Star Model P more because it doesn't have the grip safety.

  • I'm a total noob when it comes to fire arm appreciation, but I really love this freakin' gun.

Compared to the Barreta or Glock, this is my favorite gun. I like the design of it, it just looks like it would feel so comfy and accurate in your hand.

But I want to know some Cons.

One guy told me that a down side to the 1911's is that it's a single action pistol. Which means you have to cock it initially?

If you hoist it cocked, they say that a heavy bump can get it fired off. That's dangerous...

  • Thanks for the video! They are making the Model 1911 by John Browning the State of Utah's State gun today!!!

  • i can handle it and i am 12 stop biting wimps

  • I can conceal a full-size 1911 with under sport coat.

  • The Colt 45 reprsents America! couldnt of said it better!

  • Gadamn rite! if u cant shoot a 45acp then you shouldnt be in the military in the first place!

  • i wuzz drunk ass fuck this new years and shot my 45 several times and i forgot to check the chaber ,,,,,opsss i shot a hole in my window frame,,, man it scared the hell out of me,,,,=( i love the way it smells after shooting it !

  • Call me a prehistoric caveman...but I want a .45 rd!

  • i love the colt 1911 .45 it is the best handgun ever invented it is a shame that now the military uses the 9mm i means its pathetic 50cent got shot 9 times with it and you wonder how he survived if it was a 45. cal he would have been down after one mayb two at max. the europeans need to grow a pair and get a damn .45

  • @MrGrim944 Maybe it's weaker, but it's cheaper.

  • @Keichwoud357 while yes it may be cheaper it shouldnt be a replacement for the 45. just because it more affordable and over the long run it is cheaper i mean think about it, it took the 45. over 40 years to become unrealiable and cheaper while it take the 9 less than ten the 45 allow you to carry less ammo cause if u hit someone with it they are going down period no ? asked while i respect your oppion i respectfully agree to disagree the 45. is the ultimate handgun

  • 9mm wimpy, wimpy, wimpy. .45 HEFTY, HEFTY, HEFTY! GO BACK TO USING THE .45!!! Another reason why they switched to the 9mm... more "firepower"........

  • Man, I'm 15 and I love shooting the 1911. I was in upstate New York with a couple of friends and a grandfather named "Dick". He was in WWII so we had some SPAM and ended the day by shooting his 1911. Then we did it in the dark to see the spectacular muzzle flash.

  • i've seen a man shot with a 45acp, regular fmg round, took it strait into the chest, he was dead in less that 30 seconds. I've seen a man shot twice with a ranger talon in 9mm. he is still alive, barely. i wouldn't consider any thing less that 45 for self defence. i don't want to upset any one who packs a 380 or 9mm, but ya cant argue the facts.

  • i agree with you colt .45 is amazing, i just wanted to ask, is there any way to put laser to it? thanks

  • shooting 45. cal. pistols are a lot of fun

  • this one and the cz is the most ergonomics gun i know, got em both, and they are very pointable. for ex, what happens when u draw the glock and aim? you look right down the.. what do say in english, slide? The glock is a very good gun but the grip angle is strange.

  • That old Colt M1911 I had in the Army would rattle like hell when you shook it but it went BANG every time:) Hey my Metro Arms AC II M1911 45 ($420)came with (1) 8 round ACT mag. Its a great one but I was thinking about buying some
