  • The words in this song are about his penis lol. Very clever. Read 'em! ;-D

  • I love this band so much. It makes me so sad that they couldn't have lasted longer and that they're so unjustly forgotten.

  • looks like germany "GOT" this band.

  • Wow, what a tight band!

  • cause hes my best friend

  • This is one of the catchiest things I've ever heard - and they are a tight live act too

  • The musicianship is nothing short of astonishing.

  • best song about a penis ever!

  • Now go listen to "Ignorance Is Bliss" LOL!!! Nice.

  • This song is fantastic it's about his penis.

  • @funnymunkey11 What's even more funny is that try seeing it from the penis's stand-point!LOL! Seriously, Andy is singing as if he was his penis singing to himself..AND Roger at the end singing from the males point of view!!LOL Awesome wordplay. Just GENIUS!

  • @P3NIX That sounds nasty. How many of these have you been to? You are very graphic. Only an ole pro would know about the carpet saturation.

  • I would see them at Doc. Rickets in Monterrey, Love the "Hand Dance" and their version of "no matter what"

  • I saw these guys in Atlanta in the 90's & what a truly great band, bassist tim smith had played with The Producers, before Jellyfish & I was so happy to hear when he came on board with these guys...You just don't hear this caliber of musicianship as much....Just wish they'd put out more music.

  • Loved them since 93 when they blew Tears For Fears off the stage!

  • I saw Jellyfish live in Atlanta in the early 90's. It is hands down the best concert I have ever seen despite it being 100 degrees in the hall. They were impossibly good and it was hard to believe that they were not singing to tracks. They were so spot on. They broke up way too soon. I wish they had blessed the world with more music.

  • never realised this song was about his penis

and masturbation... "...at thirteen we shook hands" hahahahaa, if you listen to the lyrics its so funny

  • you're not alone. I generally panned the song for quite a while (just didn't care for the music), but finally listened to the chorus one day... "my hand's a five-leaf clover..." and I laughed and laughed, and I don't skip the song now when listening to the album... still wish someone could locate a clip of "Forgiven" to upload, though. probably my favorite on that album ... "yes he tries to hide the cross he bears, but splinters, like the truth, have always risen..." awesome wordplay!

  • Great band !

  • i would not dance to that but boys would. :-P

  • OMG, I am soooo joining a fan club....

  • Glad Nick told me about these guys. Love that voice and their harmony.

  • Got into this band because of this song. It was in the movie "Threesome" and I thought it was brilliant! I was sitting there thinking about how this great band wrote a song about a man and his penis! It floored me! Also gave me some insight to guys hahahaha!

  • They sound so good live. Thats actually amazing. They have been one of my favorite bands since i first heard them.

  • Ben Folds Five and The Wondermints were bands that I listened to after Jellyfish called it quits. They were the only bands that were not only influenced but sounded like Jellyfish at the time.

  • Why doesen't the reply button work? I just want everyone to know that I am not replying to myself. I know I talk to myself sometimes but this is ridiculous.

  • I love this song. Jellyfish will live on in my memory forever. I will never forget the first time I heard them. I was wroking in a record store in 93 when Spilt Milk came out and we used to play it a lot in the store. I saw them at Toads Place in New Haven CT in 93 and will never forget it. You know, I do not know if it is the way his hair looks or not but in certain videos including this one Andy looks a lot like Kurt Cobain.

  • My first time to hear them . . I THINK . . was in 1990. Right after a Faith No More video. Man those were good times for music. Faith No More , Jellyfish, Living Colour . . all different types of rock and pop but all rocked so much. The EARLY 90s, and the 80s delivered awesome artists. Now .. not so much. But Roger Joseph Manning Jr's new album rocks. It's very reminicent of Jellyfish. Look up: Cat Nip Down In Front Roger Joseph Manning Jr. All those key words should get you the song.

  • Thanks for the information. I will check out his stuff.

  • my favorite song about masturbation

  • my friend kept on singing that song

  • There not singing about some dude, there singing about his hand...

  • Just. Fucking. Marvelous.

15 years I've been listening to this song thinking 'Well, these guys must be gay becuase they're singing about some dude they love'........

A song about masturbation no less?!?! God damn me being 14 when I first heard this! I daren't play it to my mates incase they thought I was y'know, 'soft'!

Brilliant! I feel like a right benny now!

    Love this band!!!!!

Best album of the 90's. Full Stop. Game Over. Period. The End. Fact. Factoid. Set In Stone.

  • I feel the same way. My husband our friend and I loved this band. Thought the song was too intimate for a friend. We all figured it out about 10 years later and we were to embarassed to admit it to each other for 2 more years. It is so obvious after you know what is about.

  • Defo!

I've played it to my mum now, so everything is A ok!

  • I figured it out right away.

  • I think I may have to agree with you on this being the best of the 90's...no filler at all--fantastic tunes, all of 'em

  • Most underrated band of all time. Can't get enough of these guys.

  • lol a song about masturbation

  • it is?? hey, is the guy playing the drums Andy Sturmer?

  • Yeah

  • Absolutely. One of the few drummers who plays standing up. I think Phil Collins does too but I am not sure.

  • Yeah, it's awesome. And Phil Collins plays standing and sitting. Anyway, I saw JELLYFISH in 93 at Earth Day Edge Fest. He stood while doing this song.. might have been 94. Somebody kept taunting him, so he walked up to the front of the stage and actually said, "What did you say faggot!?" and punched at the guy. The crowd cheered, and he continued to play.

  • @hootyhaha he has anger issues then cause one time he said i know you're american and everything but shut the fuck up.

  • such clever lyrics. just figured out what he is singing about. genius

  • Yeah I Agree That They Are Well Known With Musicians And Stuff But i Think It Just Really Helps People Like Me Find Out About Them !

    Lol If That Makes Scence.

  • Check out Imperial Drag or Fantastic Black if you like this band!

  • I love Imperial Drag (and I did check them out because of The Jellyfish connection), but I need to look into Fantastic Black. Thanks for the tip!

    -- Matt

  • McFly Have Well Helped This Band .

They Always Mention Them In Interviews And Its Made Alot Of People Check This Band Out And Their Awesome !

  • It's great that McFly gives props to Jellyfish and have brought the group to the attention of a younger group of fans. In that way, I agree that McFly has helped the band, but Jellyfish has always been well-respected with musicians. The members of McFly were mostly still in diapers when Jellyfish first started recording. -- Matt

  • they turned into Gumbas...seriously look up ignorance is bliss....

  • That was recorded for a Nintendo-themed CD. Just because a band isn't afraid to have a bit of silly fun isn't a sign they turned into Gumbas.

    -- Matt

  • Great band, very talented, what happened to them?

  • Apparently Andy and Roger were not getting along anymore and they decided to break up the band. What a shame. Reunion please.

  • There's a Jellyfish tribute album coming out soon - there's a page on myspace - if you're interested do a myspace search on : jellyfishtributealbum

  • WOW f@#kin amazing what a top notch act. the greatest no one knows who we are band of all time.

  • Why is it out of synch? that sucks. What a band...great!!!

  • The lyrics on this album are incredible!! An instant classic!

  • ahhhh I love them. They're AMAZING.

  • They just don't make music like this anymore(even if it is the second time round!!)

  • Great STUFF!! These guys were soooo good!!

  • 1994. Magic Mountain.

  • Go Jellyfish.

  • 5 out of 5, this song always makes me happy and a pleasure to see it live!

  • Thanks,this is music.Superb.Andy-solo album please!!

  • You know this song from Threesome...and the Sgt. Pepper of the 1990's which is Spilt Milk!

  • Bravo bravo bravo!

    Simply superb...

  • i feel like crying now sorta.

    i miss andy so much.

    that video rocked!

    thank you.

  • Simply stunning seeing these guys play live. These videos bring back a flood of great memories - both about seeing Jellyfish and discovering my best friend...

  • i love "my best friend", we "hang out" the time

  • Ha ha ha.It's all about masturbation...

  • LMAO. I love the quote of Andy's in that one performance. "I wrote this song about my penis."

But this is SUCH a great video.

  • Yes it is.

  • luv luv luv it!!! (and--duh--just realized last week, after hearing many times, what this is about! best friend, indeed!}

  • Seldom has there been a week where I've been so grateful for the Internet! Thanks for uploading this and the other Jellyfish vid's.

  • Couldn't agree more. This is just brilliant after 10 years of never seeing any stuff of theirs it's just fantastic. Time to go and give Spilt Milk a blast.
