@guitar0ne11 It's more high art then any form of traditional art. Certainly a form of modern performance art. Which basically means you can abstract or absurd as long as it meets the criteria of being visual or performance oriented. High art doesn't have to make sense or be metaphors for deeper meanings. When you attempt to look at modern art don't assign it all the labels you would with classical art (technique, metaphor) instead look at it more from an emotional aspect any emotion good or bad
@wardog3d An excellent and well thought out response. Thank you. However, I have a hard time connecting with this form of expression. I need context for the art to come alive. Art to me is something that sucks you in, leaves you entranced, somehow transcending your lone being. Watching a display of raw emotion with no meaning stirs nothing within me. Again, thank you for the reply, very insightful.
@wardog3d Not a problem, happy to discuss it with you. I myself am a computer animation degree graduate with a BFA (fine arts).
They pushed all levels of fine arts onto us in school including modern art. I myself am not and will never be a fan of modern art for many of the same reasons you stated. Some of those early modern art classes I took was painful for me, because I my disdain for modern art.
I started to realize that a lot of modern art attempts to evoke emotion through shock value.
@wardog3d "I started to realize that a lot of modern art attempts to evoke emotion through shock value." Very true. However it would be a shame if you started to allow your prejudice to close off your own appreciation of what 'modern artists' are creating. I personally don't care for your opinion or any one else' when it comes to appreciating art however think it is a shame that ppl can only explain themselves through prejudice voices.
Beautifully crafted and terrifying that every American pop song could be sung to steady duple meter. A brutal emotional journey as an audience member. I got a sense of "the jokes on you." This piece will find itself an outstanding piece in dance history. One of a kind.
I didn't know the guy from LMFAO was in this...

Ah yes, unwatchable crap, to entertain morons, with a dance beat.
I can pay a booze-soaked urine-drenched wino to give me more intellectual entertainment than this crap.

This is totally brilliant and a beautiful homage to Pina Bausch - there is no other Pina, just like there is no other Jobs

Dark humor about urban society, for the darkest of commentators, Pina Bausch (I assume.) Had me laughing out loud.
