Most of the war in Europe was fought against Happy Stalin. Not until the last year of the war did the Yanks go in. Well USSR was heavily militarized only to be hurt by Happy Stalin's great purge. :)

If Hitler was the military genius you all make him out to be then why did he not equip his men with, at the very least, parkas, in case (God forbid like every other invasion of Russia) it ended up in a protracted drawn out campaign.
