This EP vinyls are available only at auction site and usually hammer priced over euro 100.- In English version is at my channel and in French is at richpat \'s channel.
She probably had a sweetly cute accent, but her depth of feeling, committment and great artistry are completely unmistakeable....in ANY language!..in fact she needs no words at all....just that voice.
Read that since her chart fortune was dwindling she made a brave attempt to repeat the early success of TWTD which was also recorded in foreign versions
I'm now preparing to post TWTD-w/beats version or some other songs from "Hyacinth". Its difficult to select the first song and more difficult to selecting photos with them.
Actually the French version is the original that came out first, by a French singer named Gilles Marchal who had a bit of success around 1969-70. His singing partner of the time was Martine Habib, a name you'll find in the composing credit, along with Bernard Estardy, who used to be France's #1 recording engineer in the 70s.
Why she has recorded in Japanese is uncirtain . Maybe Japan is a special place to her, because she enjoyed Kyoto with her parents and a sister in her single days. Kyoto is the city of former Capitol that impresses a lot to all people visit there (like Firenze for the Italians).
Just I can say is that this was recorded in her "Days" and that every woman and mother is great...
I intend to post a new video with our Ko-hana (Ko means here pretty, hana means a flower), a girl Shih Tzu, playing yumin-house (spelling ok?) that is a wooden childhouse governed by our local city. Of cause the song is Mary's The Puppy Song.
Why Japanese girls colour their hair is I think just a fashion like selecting cloth or dress.
They believe colourful wear with non-black hair is so sophisticated.....But playing something girl-ish or making somewhat younger maybe some cause....Ahaha.
Fantastic.. I had no idea that she could sing in Japanese.
I'm amazed!
Thank you so much for sharing with me.
Kind regards, Gary.

Mary's Japanese is completely perfect. Every Japanese native speaker thinks so! Her accent is completely correct!

This is one of my favourite songs sung by my favourite female singer the awesome Mary Hopkin.

Oh yes!
Mary is AWESOME! She sang this sad song with so beautiful, clear, sweet, angel voice.
Also this Japanese Lyrics is great and just fitted with the original melody.
Thank you for nice commenting Mr. breadqueue.

Thanks for commentig.
I'm a fan since her first single "Those were the days" were released. I attended Mary's valued concert held at Expo'70 Osaka.
I've been to HKG when HKG was a part of UK, when I enjoyed the Ocean Park...

ありがとうございます。 Thanks.
しかし、日本語の歌詞はソフトで I think this Japanese lyric is too softer
ラブアフェアーの別れ、の実感に欠けるように思います。 that lacks reality of good-bye after a true love affair of a man and a woman.....

Welcome.
Mary was brond in her younger days while in later days with strawberry red hair in her pictures...
Here in Japan almost all young girls colour their hair then we cannot see a girl with her original black haired.
Thank you for commenting.
