is it obligatory to speak arab in order to do this prayer or become muslim?? just curious..that looks like such a difficult language to learn and also are those memorize prayers or is the guy telling god what he feels like telling or asking??

you don't have to speak arabic to be a muslim. 80% of the Muslims are non arabs. certain parts of the prayers need to be done in arabic. Supplications in prayer or outside of the formal prayer can be done in any language. formal Prayer are a mean of direct organized communication with God.5 daily Prayers can be anywhere from 3 minutes to an hour. So for muslim corporate american's shorter than a smoke break

@demha99 I am not arabic. But I was told by my parents in my childhood that Quraan and prayer must be in its native language. So I learnt arabic when I was 5 only. I can read Quraan and pray in Arabic. But I cannot speak arabic langauge like actual arabic people speak.

@TheBestEVER4LIFE You can pray in english . it doesnt have to be in english since god is all mighty he can understand any language of course. but the prayers are in Arabic and are easy to learn. Many people pray in englisha nd chinese urdu.. all different languages. When you are in the mosque you can pray in your head in english you are aloud and everyone around you prays in arabic there is an imam and he will be reciting then prayers but you will catch on quick

@TheBestEVER4LIFE I realise your questions were from some time ago, I just want to say as a person who came to Islam (elhamdollilah) I thought it would be very hard to learn the prayers, but it was not, I just had to practice, and when I learnt them I realised how beautiful the arabic is which I couldnt really hear as well initially. Also it helps that I learnt what each part of the prayer translated into in English so when I pray I know what I am saying to Allah/God. Peace!

I never denied the existence of the Creator of the Universe. The Creator is omnipresent and would never command its creation to worship it in any way because that would prevent us from using our freewill! i think either way u have to pronounce "speak" it in arabic not any other language inorder to get ur pray correctly !doesnot mean u have to go learn arabic or arabic should be ur native language its just for qur'an . sure u can use any language fonts to understand the qur'an verses. for non arabic speaking the best way is listening inorder to get the correct pronunciation specially for qur'an. salam for now :)
