We have lived in Virginia for 3 years now and have really enjoyed the State Park system. We've camped in several states including the state park system in western NC and the Virginia parks are awsome! As far as the dogs, they can be annoying with the barking, sorry :) We love dogs and have owned dogs and cats for many years, but if you know you have a yapping animal, please leave them at home! :)

We love, love, love the Virginia State Park system!As an aside note: We are not dog owners yet but look forward to being one soon and love the idea of being able to bring our dogs along with us. We have always enjoyed the dogs of our "neighbors" while staying at the state parks! We have never had any problems - only kindness and love from the dogs and their owners.
Virginia is a beautiful state! We love making the 5+ hour journey from Philly to be able to camp with our beloved dog...Thanks VA state parks for allowing us that adventure!
The Virginia State Parks are the best. I'm from Baltimore and, because dogs are allowed in your cabins -- not in Maryland -- we've enjoyed trips to James River, Westmoreland and First Landing . Looking forward to visiting many more in 2011, as well as our favorites. Thank you for providing this opportunity to have the whole family enjoy your wonderful parks.

VA state parks are great. In 2010 I stayed at 22 different state parks and VA was by far the best. Especially like Hungry Mothers. Great job. I'll be back in 2011.
I am from Chesapeake VA. I enjoy hiking the AT and Back Bay. I have to admit I could not identify half the places in the video. Please put place names from which parks the images where taken from so people interested in visiting them know where they are located.
