The Forbidden Kingdom is an amazing movie, and I love the concept of it. The fact that Jackie brought back the "Drunken Fist" style of martial arts made it even better:). He's most famous for using that style in his movie "Legend of The Drunken Master" released well over ten years ago. He's done many great memorable movies in his two decades of filming, let us hope that he will continue to create martial arts magic for many more years to come!

no way. this movie was cool. and the purpose of it being a long fight was because both jet and jackie are both masters and its not gonna end in 30 seconds. like most americans, i included you lack patience. the fight scene sequenced them changing from style to style as well to test the knowledge of there opponent... once again. just enjoy a good kung fu movie instead of just waiting to see a quick ass kicking. :D

Jackie Chan was enrolled in the Peking opera school when he was a boy and was trained in kung-fu, singing and dancing from a very young age until. Before he was enrolled in the opera school he was trained by his father in northern style kung-fu.

that takes immense knowledge of all kinds of martial arts. jet li may be younger and movie agile and he might be better in one style than jackie, but I still believe jackie is a better martial artist and a better martial arts movie producer.

it's not about the fighting. it's about the style, the timing, the movement and the art.

the biggest problem with this though is that Jet Li feels it's necessary to speed up his movement to about 50 billion times actual speed so we've never really seen what he can actually do. but I do think that in a real fight Jackie would win since he has far more diverse training, where Jet on the other hand has limited himself to so few styles.

that's hong kong cinema tradition though. jackie, sammo and a lot of other people also do this. Jackie less than others though and watching especially older Jet Li movies sort of adds a comical element to the movie. Only thing is Jet Li movies aren't supposed to be funny.

If you watch movies like Project A or Police Story you can detect a small increase in the pace. Just a bit above normal. That doesn't really bother me though. It's like putting a camera in an angle so the fighting looks real.

I disagree. Jackie is an amazing kung fu artist, one of the best in the world. And i am definetly not insulting him by saying this, but Jackie is still just a Stunt Man. He's more famous because he has had more STUNT training. Jet Li however did rigorous training for years before he went into films and even now he still does actual martial training. So Jet would most likely win, although it would be pretty close.

jet li before becoming the artist he is a champion many styles of wushu.

15 gold medals and one silver. He went on to earn this title 5 times in a row. most to defeat an opponent who is much older. (the youngest ever All Round Wushu Champion at the CN Wushu Championship).

however if you want to check out other great collaborations in hong kong action movies I suggest you check out the things the three brothers did together in the 80's and 90's(three brothers or three dragons are Sammo Hung, Yuen Biao and Jackie Chan)
