They investigate this yesterday after two Republican poll watchers called the City Clerk about the video. No one, not even the person who shot this has come forth to say it was on election day.
Okay, so I watched the video at least four or five times. I can only see one ballot. I don't know for sure what this is, however she did say her candidate is martha, and this is how you fill out the form. I don't see how this is a smoking gun for anything. I guess if you tell enough people this is voter fraud, enough mindless people will believe. What a sad day it is in America when people can't even believe their own lying eyes!

2. She seems to be explaining that she is using the ballot for voter education. You don't use a copy of a real ballot for voter education. You use ballots with the imprint "SAMPLE BALLOT" for voter education. This is not a sample ballot.
According to the dubious photographer, this woman photocopied the absentee ballot on perforated copy paper... Yeah, right. I know fraud when I see it.
That is not perforated paper. The marks along the side are timing marks, necessary on ballots scanned by the Diebold/Premier optical scan machines used in Lawrence.
Also, if you pause the video, you can read this is an absentee ballot. You can also read the Jan 19th date on it, which is today, the day of the election.
Those aren't holes, they are timing marks. They line up with the vote marks.
The date on the ballot doesn't show that this video was taken today, it refers to the day of the election. Absentee ballots had to be cast by last Friday. It is irrelevant whether she has a copy or an original, no one should be running around with multiple copies of either.
I see no evidence that it is printed on a dot matrix printer. If it is a scanned copy, it would have dots along the side, because all Diebold ballots have those. The scanner cannot read the ballot without the dots along the side.
I was being funny, but either way, all we know is that she may or may not be holding an authentic absentee ballot. If she is holding a ballot for the purpose of explaining the voting process, she should of got a ballot that is for that purpose. But does it really matter? If its a copy, only official copies will be admissible since the automated scanners can check the number bar for duplicates. If its official, the video only shows her with 1 ballot, and she never handed it out in the video.
What number bar do they "check for duplicates"? These are old Diebold Accuvote and antiquated ES&S Optechs. The ballots she is holding are for the Diebold machines. There is not a number bar checked for duplicates with these machines. The video shows her with at least two ballots, by the way.

She has to be 150 feet away and NOT be handing out absentee ballots and telling everyone how to mark them. You can't even wear a campaign button or hold a campaign sign closer than 150 ft from the polling place.

You can't bring a ballot from outside the polling place-even if you are turning in an absentee ballot-it must go to election headquarters first to be checked before it can go to the polling place-2nd point-all absentee ballots must be sealed in a special envelope that is signed by the voter-it would NOT be accepted without one-even if were turned in properly at election headquarters. @2qk4u2c The thing you are missing is that they can be mailed out, and then turned into a town hall by hand. The sealed envelopes with signatures are easy to fake because they don't verify all the signatures.
People-The Massachusetts Absentee Ballot is bright yellow at the top-no Precinct will take this-it is clearly a photo copy. She thinks she is being slick-but the voting process doesn't happen that way-no one can bring a ballot into a polling place like that-it will NOT be accepted!
Photocopies ballots are often used when the location says they ran out of originals. It's a poor procedure but I've seen it done in several elections and in several states. Absentee fraud is typically done with an insider facilitating it.

She says her name is Isabelle Menendez. Rememer that name. I called the Brown headquarters 877-505-2010 and reported it and they also have been alerted by other voters.
If this was real fraud I would expect the Brown people would make sure it was punished. I predict nothing will happen, but everyone will remember the "fraud" without even asking if the Brown campaign did anything (No, why waste your time on BS?) or if she was even charged.
BTW, there were city police and state troopers inside where she had these copies. No one did anything because there was no illegality.

First of all, these are not real ballots. It is a photocopy of sample ballot. She marks them to show people how to vote for her candidate. In the ballot box, people do what they want do.
Since absentee ballots had to either be in by Friday or be received in the mail by today, there is no way these could even be used to vote. This video was taken on Jan. 18, a holiday.
If this had been a real reporter, he would've asked the question about absentee ballots.
The pathetic thing is that since Ma is a 2 party consent state with respect to recording, people who try to capture voter fraud will probably end up arrested and persec...i mean prosecuted by the office of the District Attorney...Martha Coakley...SO YAY! She explains how shes telling people to mark Martha Coakleys name. The woman handing out the ballots identifies herself as Isabel Melendez and says she has a talk show in which she promoted Coakleys candidacy.
Today, she takes her community work onto the airwaves on her show, "La Voz del Pueblo" -Spanish for "The voice of the people"- on WHAV-AM from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday.

Sample ballots 9just like the one shown here) are distributed at every polling place so people can look at it before they go in. The "absentee ballots" come after request via US post & are closed days ago.

I don't know if anyone listened to Rush Limbaugh today, but there was a story in The Boston Globe about the breakdown of each areas voting so far.
It was stated by TBG that Coakley was leading in the polls and she was the winner. Now, since Rush spoke about this, this morning TBG took the map breakdown off their site.
Corruption is going to be the only way they cheat here, if Brown loses. Progressive way of doing things, lie, steal and cheat seems to be fine with these practices.

1. Regardless of whether it is a copy of an absentee ballot or an original, no one should be running around with multiple copies of either - before, during or after the election.
2. She seems to be explaining that she is using the ballot for voter education. You don't use a copy of a real ballot for voter education. You use ballots with the imprint "SAMPLE BALLOT" for voter education. This is not a sample ballot.
This video does raise questions and concerns.

I would swing back with a wide angle showing her in front of a polling place with no break in the footage.
Please note that today it has been snowing all day in Lawrence, yet the video shows no snow falling at all.
People here are claiming this is today, the posters of the video haven't. If they did, Melendez can sue.

That is not perforated paper. The marks along the side are timing marks, necessary on ballots scanned by the Diebold/Premier optical scan machines used in Lawrence.

Those aren't holes, they are timing marks. They line up with the vote marks.
The date on the ballot doesn't show that this video was taken today, it refers to the day of the election. Absentee ballots had to be cast by last Friday. It is irrelevant whether she has a copy or an original, no one should be running around with multiple copies of either.

I see no evidence that it is printed on a dot matrix printer. If it is a scanned copy, it would have dots along the side, because all Diebold ballots have those. The scanner cannot read the ballot without the dots along the side.

I was being funny, but either way, all we know is that she may or may not be holding an authentic absentee ballot. If she is holding a ballot for the purpose of explaining the voting process, she should of got a ballot that is for that purpose. But does it really matter? If its a copy, only official copies will be admissible since the automated scanners can check the number bar for duplicates. If its official, the video only shows her with 1 ballot, and she never handed it out in the video.

What number bar do they "check for duplicates"? These are old Diebold Accuvote and antiquated ES&S Optechs. The ballots she is holding are for the Diebold machines. There is not a number bar checked for duplicates with these machines. The video shows her with at least two ballots, by the way.

You can't bring a ballot from outside the polling place-even if you are turning in an absentee ballot-it must go to election headquarters first to be checked before it can go to the polling place-2nd point-all absentee ballots must be sealed in a special envelope that is signed by the voter-it would NOT be accepted without one-even if were turned in properly at election headquarters. People-The Massachusetts Absentee Ballot is bright yellow at the top-no Precinct will take this-it is clearly a photo copy. She thinks she is being slick-but the voting process doesn't happen that way-no one can bring a ballot into a polling place like that-it will NOT be accepted!

Photocopies ballots are often used when the location says they ran out of originals. It's a poor procedure but I've seen it done in several elections and in several states. Absentee fraud is typically done with an insider facilitating it.

What happens then is that someone complains (usually the opponents campaign) and they get moved. Many times all the campaigns have people too close and no one says anything.
I remember covering a campaign in NJ years ago. Dems and GOPs were holding signs and giving out materials when a 3rd party person shows up and starts doing the same.
The Dems complained and the cops moved everyone farther away, including the Dems and GOPs.

First, I know it was a photocopy because I was there. I'm a documentary photographer and was there to cover the event.
Even if these were "real absentee ballots" there would have to be two conditions for them to be counted. 1- You would've had to make application before by last Friday 5pm, and (2) they would have to come in the special absentee ballot envelope before the polls end.

First of all, these are not real ballots. It is a photocopy of sample ballot. She marks them to show people how to vote for her candidate. In the ballot box, people do what they want do.
Since absentee ballots had to either be in by Friday or be received in the mail by today, there is no way these could even be used to vote. This video was taken on Jan. 18, a holiday.
If this had been a real reporter, he would've asked the question about absentee ballots.
