I am an born-again christian, also African-American and 48 years old. I left the democratic party in 1987 after examining its lack of morals and its descending filth since my birth and after the last 8 year disaster in the white house I have become an Independent. Ronald Reagan was a very good president but not perfect. He did two things that deeply disturbed me. Taking free breakfast and lunch from poor kids & taxing waiters & waitresses. What's most comical about these fundies is that, from all measures, just about ALL of the "evil things" they claim are increasing are actually DECREASING!  Crime went down significantly in the 90s and isn't up that much today. There are less abortions than when Roe was first put in place. Less teen pregnancy and premarital sex. Less overall drug and tobacco use. On and on and on, in general. Of course, facts were never James Dobson's strong point.
