So what happen to the temp gauge, oops there it is , Excellent. Still cold have put in with the huge gas gauge. Nice car though. They've come a long way. Elantra is a good choice too. They want $23,750 for the SX here. Should be the same as the U.S.

My dad hates Kia sooooo much. Just because he's into bigger cars. We bought a spectra for about 15000, but he didn't want my mom driving it cuz it was too small, so he made her trade it in for 3000 and buy a 2006 sorento, which he still bitches about paying for(500 each month). But I want one of these so badly for a graduation present. Not a stinking ford manual ford f150. He probably won't want to, but when he sees the car in the inside he might be impressed

civic ex isnt comparable to the kia forte, the tc, or the civic si. sorry but they're really not in the same class when the tc outruns the civic ex and with a good driver, keeps up with the si.

i dont know about the tc keeping up with the si no matter how good a a driver u are unless ur racing grandma then i dont see how the tc will keep up. my buddy had one with basic upgrades and after 130 you dont go anywhere as with the si u can bring it to 145 150 no problem

@polishgangsta99..for one the tC is governed at 130 so that's why you didnt go any faster. secondly, my cousin has an si and from a dig i can run door to door with him up to about 70 but he starts to pull up top. the tC's torque makes up the horsepower difference off the line though. i was referring to the 1/4 mile when i made the above comment and i guess i should have specified. stock times for both cars range from 15.1-15.5 for a stock tC and 14.8-15.1 for a stock si depending on the driver.

@BGSOCCER...the Civic Si does not have a turbo, get your facts straight. also i highly doubt this car would compare to a scion tC or Mazdaspeed3 because 1) although its numbers are close to the tC, kia isnt up to par with the technology or tuning of toyota. 2) the Mazdaspeed3 is turbocharged and makes a little over 260 horsepower.

i was talking more along the lines of engine technology haha but i agree, i own a tc and the steering is a bit numb but i wouldnt say sloppy and the brakes do fade rather quickly. both problems can be fixed with aftermarket parts without spending too much though.

This is a very good car, not bad at all. But in now way is it in the same class as a Honda Civic Si. The only way it could be in the same class is either by size if you were to choose a Honda Civic Si Coupe. The Si has a turbo, weighs less and is bigger. The Kia has a bigger engine and bigger size. But it would compare to a regular Civic Coupe or Scion Tc or Mazdaspeed3i and even a Suzuki Kizashi.

@BGSOCCER mazdaspeed 3 is turbocharged and makes over 260 horsepower. Civic Si is naturally aspirated and makes 197hp, it does not have a turbo. Both cars have the power and handling (suspension set up) The forte SX with 173hp and semi-independent suspension cannot compare with either car mentioned. What are you saying?

Mine has no road noise and Ive driven Lincolns for 10 years! GET LEATHER the cloth isnt comfortable!

Only issues: Stock crank pulley is HEAVY and causes the engine to revv up when shifting manual transmission. Get 1-lb aftermarket (roadracemotorsports $139) pulley, will fix this & amazingly improve the feel. 1200 miles on mine, $19280 LOADED with leather, heated glass,mirrors,seats, satt radio, 17" whls. Kia was shit 5 yrs ago, now is SOLID. Im a factory-trained Ford mechanic

Nobody does it like Sara Lee! :) I drove one yesterday and I was impressed. It i loks awesome and the seats and interior are nice. it drove smoothly with the automatic in SX trim.

Yes you are correct, I am sorry to inform you but you cannot say this car has no oversteer and no understeer. It is based on the speed you are going usually when a car is test driven it goes around a track ranging in speeds from 25 to 65 in which there WILL be either oversteer or understeer. It could be less or more but either one will appear in A turn.

eBay has the grill/trunk set for $35 shipped, $20 for the steering wheel. sorta looks like a "K" without the vertical part of the K. In black, white, red and I think blue. GET THE CRANK PULLEY NO MATTER WHAT. many small shops are making dressup and hot rod parts available for the Koup, check all the fan forums like kiaforteforum

Koup with a turbo will beat the HELL out of anything in its class... but I think it already does! 173 HP not 170! I LOVE my KIA, im 39 and ive never had the urge to buy a new car before, and im a die-hard American-built car fan & Ford mechanic... I KNOW quality when I see it, but this design alone blew me away!!!

thanks for the info. from what i've seen, it does look like a good ride. this is a really nice departure for the good but stale civic, and surely some good middle ground between the scion tc and the polarizing new madza 3. i'd love to see them make a higher performance model with like 200hp or so , but that's just me lol
