  • Department of Labor states that if the waiters tips cannot cover the states minimum wage laws then the establishment that the waiter works at must cover the difference. Just google Department of Labor and Tips and its right there. So they dont really make 2.13/hour they make minimum wage.

  • On a last note... I did work in a country club where I made no tips... My hourly wage was 18$ an hour. Probably more than you make holding that STOP / SLOW sign, and talking on the radio at your construction job.

  • I've eaten at places where dinner for two was 500$ and I've also eaten at Places where dinner for two is 50$. On the 50$ check I might tip 8-12$ depending on service, and same goes for the $500 dinner. If the server is outstanding and I had an excellent meal I would tip 100-120$. Everything in these videos are 100% true and if you doubt that, well then these videos are 100% directed towards you.

  • Just how I'm not going to say construction is not a hard or easy job, because I've never done it. I'm sure it's hard though for some people to stand holding a STOP and SLOW sign wearing a hard had for 10 hours a day making 15-20$ an hour. That seems real stressful and just tough. Just like i'm not sure thats the kind of construction your in since there are many different types, just like there are many different types of restaurants and tips that go with those places....

  • It's a tough job to deal with absolute idiots night in and night out. Servers make roughly 2.83 and hour. Their tips are their income. I served before and I have a bartending job now that at both I can roughly make 20-30$ and hour. Pretty much how much I make at my real profession that I went to school for. I know some waiters in NYC who can make over 100,000$ in a year and they work about 30 hours a week. You just obviously never held a service industry job in your life and have no room to talk

  • To anybody saying serving is not hard word has never spend 20 minutes waiting on tables ie. @extremedunkz and @maxbrutal88. It's hard when you have to wait on 20-25 people divided into 4-6 tables and their all douche bag idiots like you. Bartenders actually have it easier, they don't move from behind the bar, they socialize with customers, and make drinks. Servers, run around the whole restaurant taking care of all your stupid requests to make sure you enjoy your complex order. ...

  • Get an education and a better job. I tip 15% maximum for really good servers.

  • @xtremedunkz I work in a restaurant so i can AFFORD to go to school. Getting an education is outrageously expensive in the US and some people, yes, even smart people, can barely afford to go. They're not stupid; they just do what they have to to survive - even if it means putting up with miserable cunts like you. You're a close minded prick who clearly wasn't educated enough to learn not to generalize or jump to conclusions about any group of people. Grow up and tip your server.

  • @maxbrutal88 I worked retail all throughout college. Worked my way up to assistant manager of a company and still only made $12 an hour. I have friends who are waiters/waitresses who regularly bring home $100 or close to it a night and STILL complain about people not tipping enough. You are in FOOD SERVICE, you should not be expecting to make a lot of money, it is not a career. Until my junior year of college I was working for $8 an hour at a crappy retail store working my ass off.

  • @maxbrutal88 If I go out to eat with my gf or a group of friends we stay about an hour. Let's say our waitress makes $2 an hour. Our bill for a group of 4 is around $80. We leave a tip of $10, which is lower than 15% mind you, which is what I leave for great service. Our waitress has to tip out the bar if we order drinks and the bus boy so let's say she keeps half which is $5. That is $7 an hour NOT COUNTING ALL HER OTHER TABLES. Entry level retail starts at close to that IT IS FAIR

  • @xtremedunkz If I were you I wouldn't go to the same restaurant twice. Servers have a tendency to remember shitty tippers........ and not in a good way.

  • @xtremedunkz The fact that it is close to entry level retail is irrelevant, serving and bartending is HARD FUCKING WORK and retail is anything but. You have no idea what you're talking about and just won't admit that you screwing over a waiter, who has to put up with more assholes in a single shift than any entry level retail worker does in a month, is anything other than a dick move. Not to mention that those retail workers are able to make beyond that min. wage. Servers are not.

  • @maxbrutal88 lol serving is hardly hard work. Construction is hard work. I work in software development and I don't consider that hard work either, but it requires vast knowledge and a college degree. Bartending I would consider a tough job, but also a fun one. Bartenders make boatloads of tips especially from regulars and this conversation is about waiters. Waiting tables is a job meant for kids and college students. No one should be waiting tables after the age of 25, nobody.

  • @maxbrutal88 It is not a career, it requires no skills other than basic social skills and knowing how to write in english and carry a plate. Let me ask you a question. If waiters were to start being paid hourly instead of off tips, what do you think would be a fair hourly wage?

  • YOU MOTHER FUCKIN ASSHOLES!! MAKE YOUR OWN GOD DAMN FOOD THEN!!! STAY HOME YOU STUPID MOTHER FUCKERS!! YOU TIP BECAUSE WE BUST OUR ASS TO SERVE YOU!! YOU DON'T WANNA TIP? DON'T GO OUT! IF YOU TIP GOOD, YOU GET LOTS OF EXTRA STUFF FOR FREE AND OR DISCOUNTED.. YOU CHEAP BASTARDS!! YOU CAN ALL FUCK YOURSELVES, WE PRAY TO GOD YOU GET INTO A CAR CRASH WHEN YOU LEAVE. KARMA IS A BITCH!!

  • Lmao they hit the n as nail on the head

  • @jabroooni, your name obviously was a good choice, we as servers bust our asses for customers like you for what is $2.65/hr in Michigan where i'm from, would you rather pay 20% more for your food and not tip the server, or reserve that entire amount for whether or not you had good service, which btw is what you came out to eat for! The next time you prepare, eat, and clean up your own meal at home, try to put a value on what you just did, then you'll realize why tipping is important.

  • Tipping is bullshit. I tip, but it pains me every time. Why the fuck should I pay the restaurant employees wages?? Yes, you are serving me. It's your fucking JOB!! Don't get pissed at me if I don't tip, get pissed at your boss for not paying you enough. The food, and especially the drinks, are way over priced to begin with. Now you expect me to piss away another 20% on top of that??? Fuck that.

  • @jabrooonni It's your job to pay for the service you receive. It is not the employees' job to work on 2-3 dollars per hour. It's why they are paid so low - customers are expected to tip. If customers were not supposed to tip, or if only the very rich customers tipped, then the employees would make minimum wage. The restaurant industry as you know it would not exist if you weren't supposed to tip. Everything would be a lot more expensive since the employees would need triple wages.

  • @jabrooonni It is also not the boss's fault, as s/he wouldn't be able to afford his or her business if employees needed proper wages. It is also not the employees' fault that your food is 'overpriced', so why take it out on them? Have you any idea how hard it is for people with low wages to survive in life? I pay for my laundry by stealing forgotten quarters from pay phones and locker rooms and I dumpster dive behind grocery stores because I do not have any money left after rent.

  • @jabrooonni If you don't want to pay so much for food, do as I do and do not go to restaurants

  • I don't really get tipping. I'm British and we don't tip like Americans, I don't employ the waiters so I don't pay them, Thats the job of their employer surely. But then in the UK tips cannot be used to pay staffs wages so the minimum you can earn is £6 an hour not $2-3 no wonder they need tips. Their bosses aren't paying them properly

  • omg i used to hate bussing tables when asshole customers would stay and drink till 3am just to fuck with us

  • of course she's black.... WHY DON"T BLACK PEOPLE TIP?

  • @drgoodspd been asking myself that for a long time.

  • @drgoodspd When you have lots of attitude and think the world owes you something you can't bother leaving the proper gratuity. Some of my darker co-workers asked me to go to a Chinese restaurant with them. Our employer was paying the bill. I politely declined. I didn't tell them I didn't want to be seen in public with no class schvartzes who don't tip plus a couple of dykes. When Black people can't get service at some restaurants it is because they don't tip.

  • Wah wah wah, here's a tip: GET A BETTER JOB.

  • @blahblahblahman Some people do not have other ways to feed their family and they cant get another job.

  • @blahblahblahman ... hah. you ignorant fuck. by your attitude and obvious education level, you should actually keep the servers tip; they prob make more money than you do.

  • @blahblahblahman SAYS the person who probably isnt a server and gets paid better/

  • OH MY GOD! Funniest shit ever. This is so damn right on the money.

  • here's a tip fucker, GET A BETTER JOB

  • @TheWaynelds weird how your comment was removed and mine wasn't. I moved out and was living on my own supporting myself by the time I was 16, I think I know the value of hard work. I dug oil tanks for 2 years while I was attending a trade school. I'm only 25 so go thinking I didn't this a long time ago. So what other smart ass comment can you think of?

  • @Noclue206 I deleted the comment myself and reposted it because i misspelled a couple words. And i wasnt trying to be a smartass, i was only stating the truth. Just because you found a better job doesnt mean everyone else can so easily. I moved to florida in april and had to move back to ohio 2 months later because there were NO jobs available other than crappy restaraunt jobs. It all depends on the area you live in and there arent a lot of good jobs available, even with a college degree.

  • I am a great tiper but if someone completely fucks up my order I don't give shit.

  • @grkpektis ooops, sorry that comment was meant for someone else. Just ignore it because i clicked on the wrong person.

  • Simple solution: pass a law eliminating tipping and pay your employees fair wages (at LEAST minimum wage). Many countries have a no-tipping culture and service there tends to be WAY better than what you get in the US. It should not be the customer's responsibility to pay for the waiter's salary, that's what the employer is there for.

  • If you're not going to tip, just order the food to-go and leave the dining area open for people who are willing to pay extra to be waited on.

  • @ewanfraser I heard on a radio show on the way to work, that since everything has gone up in price that 15% is no longer the standard amount to tip your server.

  • @NowThePeople The prices have gone up too, so I think that is incorrect. I usually compromise and tip around 18%. If the service is really good, I'll tip 20% or more. If the service is not soo hot, I'll go down to 15% or even less.

  • 20%? 15% is generally typical.

  • I'm sorry but restaurants should be held accountable. Servers, hostesses, cooks, etc should be paid the minimum wage or more. Why should we tip someone for doing their job?! That makes no sense. I used to go out of my way for my customers when I worked at McDonald's but never got a fucking tip because it was what I was supposed to fucking do. I do tip but after spending 50+ bucks on a meal I shouldn't have to pay the wage of the server too.

  • @dustinthewind2u I'm glad I work for a fine dinning restaurant where scum like you do not go often or never. But of course what can we expect from your kind...Im sure you tip 50 cents on a 40 dollars meal.

  • @dustinthewind2u Look, eating out is a luxury, if you don't want to tip go back to McDonalds to eat where the staff makes an hourly minimum wage vs $2.13/hour. If they paid the servers, cooks, etc more money that would mean that they would have fewer of them on per shift (meaning their are taking more tables which equals shittier service for you and longer wait times on food). Also, the price of food would go up tremendously as well in order to compensate. It's not too hard to tip at least 18%.

  • Its 15% not 20% its always been 15%, stop being greedy. Ive waited tables. Sure 20% is nice, but the custom for standard service is 15%.

  • tipping is not a city in china. servers are people who struggle to get by on the generosity of strangers. if you dont tip, or cant afford to, keep your ass at home and dont be the toolsack that stiffs his waiter.

  • awesome video!

  • "you have to tip" lol shut the fuck up ill tip if i want to, ill leave a $20 tip on a $20 bill if i want to, everyone here whining about not getting tipped, heres a tip. get a real fucking job that pays real money dont bitch about it and blame you not getting tips on the customer. u make a fucking wage, deal with it. im jus gonna sit back and laugh at all you fucking losers, and this video because its fucking gold, not to mention true

  • @nippaaa people like you are the reason people like me spit in your food. go fuck yourself you asshat. i hope you burn in hell and rot for all eternity

  • @rdennylive07 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH thanks, dont worry, i will be rotting in hell, with all your tip money HAHAHAHA

  • @nippaaa I waited tables in college at a fine dinning restaurant rated top 25 in the country and I was making from $300 to $400 in 1 night, 5 nights a week that is a real job that I'm sure pays more than yours stupid ignorant piece of shit , your mother is the loser for spreading her legs to a jackass and had you for son.In many upscale places servers make more than many customers ,so get some knowledge before barking because you are the pathetic fucking loser.

  • @mirafl93 *clap clap clap* first off, i am my own boss, i make my own money, just as much or more than you, second, you are a fucking server, you are a fucking peasant, u take orders, i dont take shit from no one. so who's the fucking loser?

  • @nippaaa Your food has probably been dropped on the kitchen floor and your server has spit in your water more times than you can possibly imagine. Some people work these jobs to put themselves through school in order to earn a job in which they actually help people, because they are decent people themselves. You, however, are the lowest type of person because you actually think your life is more valuable. It isn't. We don't care about you, either. Congratulations on growing up to be a scumbag.

  • Comment removed

  • @nippaaa Your comments only show a typical mediocre average working class guy who achieved something and thinks is royalty.Since when someone who works hard to support his/her family in a honest job taking orders and serving food makes him/her a loser and a peasant? You don't need to be your own boss to take shit from no one MORON all you need is selfrespect and class. When I did in my college days I worked with single parents, widows, students etc all working hard, you call them losers?

  • @mirafl93 holy shit, you're still running your mouth? i dont give a shit, my mission here was completed, now go get a life. loser, and please dont respond back, its just going to make you look like an even bigger loser than you already are, thanks

  • @nippaaa Im not the loser here you trailer trash, and yes your mission was completed and it was to show what a low life you are, you do not respond piece of shit I replied to your comment asshole , mister "I'm my own boss that's why I'm better than you" stupid dirt bag I make in a month what you make in 3, and calling a server a loser because takes orders and works for tips just makes you look like the scum bag ignorant you are. But what can we expect from a mediocre average hillbilly.

  • @nippaaa Well if you hate servers so much, then do go out to eat. I bet you couldnt do their job for a day.

  • Comment removed

  • @jbeezo1 I would love to know how happy you would be going to a restaurant that would have the "tip" built into the price. You would probably just complain about that too. You might not agree with the system of gratuity we have in this country, (a lot of people including many servers don't) but it's the one we have. If you pride yourself on not adhering to that system, you're simply priding yourself on your own avarice and ignorance.

  • its funny that the character that isn't tipping seems to be a little darker in skin color... go figure

  • hysterical and too true

  • Non-servers, please note this as well:

The cost of the food is the cost of the food. Pays the cooks that fucking make it, pays the managers who run the restaurant, and pays for the product you consume.

When you have a server, you tip for the service you acquire from that server. You need to pay for the service you were provided, or else go to god damn McDonald's where you are not served your food. Just please don't rob me of my living by sitting in my section and stealing my service

  • I hate the typical diner, seriously. I love other servers that come into dine though...appropriate tips so that I can eat when I get off work, very polite, and understanding of the job and how it can be. I hate most of my guests though. Bastards that come in expecting a sit down restaurant to be fast food where they don't have to retrieve food themselves. I bring your food to you, refill your drinks, pre-bus your table of dirty dishes, and get you EVERYTHING you fucking want. For an hour. Tips?

  • hahahaha. ah, this is so true..... sigh.

  • The thing that pissed me off the most about restaraunts was the amount of food that got thrown away by costumers. Anyone who wastes or throws away food is a fucking peice of shit in my book! They should be the ones starving to death in 3rd world countries since they like to waste food so much. TAKE THE GOSH DAMN FOOD HOME YOU FUCKING WASTE OF LIFE! And you know what was wierd? None of my coworkers ever agreed with me on this. They were like "well, as long as they paid for it, i dont care." Fuck!

  • As customers we should not make up for the short chain the employers are paying to his/her employees. Waiters are there to bring your food and accommodate your needs as much as they can, any extra service should be rewarded as a 'tip'. Any impose tip on the customer should be built within the price of the food item and just call it a day.

  • @OnediaMovie As customers you should be paying for the service you got. It's the way it works. I guess you don't HAVE to tip - but it's like saying you don't HAVE to shit in the toilet in private, you can shit on the floor and smear it on the walls, but everyone will hate you and it's just not the way things are done.

  • @ladyjennalyn Single greatest analogy for tipping i have ever heard. I will use it and on behalf of everyone in the service industry: Thank you.

  • @maxbrutal88 Haha, thank you! In more polite conversation I generally use the 'piss on the floor' analogy instead :P

  • Is there is a reason why the "customer" is black in this clip?

  • @xMarkFitzx yep...black people do not tip...neeeeeeedy and do not tip..

  • hahahahahahaha! I get it!!!

  • I always try to overtip my servers. Just think it's good karma.

  • @jbeezo1 If you have a party at you house and you make all the food and buy all the alcohol, but you ask someone that works at a bar you frequent to come be the bartender at your party, you would pay them, right? This is the same idea as a restaurant. You are paying for the food and its preparation and drinks, but not the service. You pay the server directly.

  • If restaurants paid their servers minimum wage I hope you realize, that $15 meal you just had would be closer to $35. The type of person that doesn't tip is also usually the type of person that goes to shitty chain restaurants and only orders the 3 for $12 specials... In America.. we are a tipping society... tip the server/bartender, tip the cab drivers, tip the valet/ bellperson, tip your barber/hairdresser. Either that or be willing to pay 3 times more for all of your services

  • @TheSkeptic2 Waitstaff don't seem to understand that they stand to lose by driving away customers. The person to blame is not the cheap tipper but the owner who is paying waitstaff crap for a salary. If they can't afford to pay a decent salary without passing on that burden to the customer they should go out of business. Which they will if they are a cheap restaurant and raise their prices from $15 to 35. For $35 you can buy two good steaks at the market and no reason to eat their crap.

  • @jbeezo1 you are ridiculous... if you cant tip 15-20% you should NOT eat out. this is not Europe... tips are not gifts... they are paychecks for servers and bartenders... if you think otherwise you are an idiot

  • @jbeezo1 Tips ARE our paychecks in America. Most servers are paid less than $3/hour. In Texas most servers get paid $2.13/hour. If servers were paid a real wage, restaurants would be WAY more expensive than they currently are.

  • @newhampshireboy The problem is that tips are your PAYCHECKS. They should not be. That is only going to work in a good economy. In a bad economy people are going to cut costs--which means spending less in restaurants. It may mean tipping less, going to cheaper ones OR eating at home. Either way waitstaff loses and honestly by blaming the customer for it, you drive away more customers and lose more money for a problem the customer didn't create in the first place.

  • Waitstaff should unionize. That is the only way they will get at least minimum wage. It's disgusting that people in some states are paid $2.50 an hour to work and are dependent on tips. If they can't afford to pay people decently they shouldn't have a restaurant. The customers pay the waitstaffs' salary as well the food. In some other countries waitstaff actually are paid a decent wage and may even get benefits. Some restaurants even make the waiters pay the credit card charges on the bills!

  • 20%?!

You know, I used to work for tips. I delivered pizza. I drove the food right to PEOPLE'S HOUSE, with my OWN CAR, and my OWN GAS, and I never expected 20%. 15% is customary, as a GRATUITY, for good service. It is a GIFT. You should be happy when you get a tip. I guess no one explained that to you when you took the job. And if you're still unhappy, try delivering food. You will then have little sympathy for whiny waiters who only have to walk food 30 feet from the kitchen.

  • Customers suck! Fuck customers!

  • @AresCassell I hope you don't mean that. Without customers then the restaurant would close and all of you working there are out of a job. A restaurant has no reason to exist without the customers. The customer does not need the restaurant. He can eat at home. The restaurant NEEDS the customer.

  • @luceroblanco I know. I was just venting.

  • @jbeezo1

fuck off loads of servers give amazing service like at my local resteraunt and nobody tips them and its due to people being selfish basically and you clearly wouldn't understand untill you've served yourself as I have so shut your face

  • In most countries, standard is 15%. 20% is only for truly excellent service (and I am a server, so don't start hating)

  • @callmejitters I think you might call this "tipping inflation". It used to be 10% was customary, then 15%. Now waiters are trying to push for 20%. Where does it end?

  • haha i love these videos

  • Oh so TRUE!!!! I swear I must have created these video while I had 'server nightmares'. LMAO ROFL

  • I believe that a new system of combating assholes and jerks in society should consist of a mandatory 6 months of working as a server. It will forcefully humble the lazy, cheap, pieces of shit we call "people" to know what it's like become basically a slave and dance like jesters for 2 cents on a $50 tab in order to pay bills and most likely tuition. IF, and that's a BIG IF, they survive 6 months, they're allowed to progress to other jobs as a considerate, sympathetic, conscious human being.

  • @jbeezo1

Try Serving dude! A lot of people just want to have a good meal and be lazy. I've got stiffed or barely tipped when I have given excellent service. People Do Not UNderstand unless they have served themselves. It is not something you can just witness.

  • @juggles411 I think a lot of people do not know that waitstaff are getting paid $2.00 hr in some states. They probably assume they are getting minimum wage at least.

  • LOL! The bear is Black.

  • " Your a piece of shit!"

    "Fuck this, i quit."

    loool, im dying.

  • @jbeezo1 you are an idiot

  • This is a great video! And to all of you who say you shouldn't tip because you don't care about "hurting our feelings" or "why should you pay us" then you are imbeciles. Servers get paid $2.83 an hour and taxes are taken out of that, just to do the basic work in the restaurant. In order to serve your selfish, needy, fat asses, you must pay us. When you wait on someone hand and foot, you expect to get paid right? So be considerate, if you won't tip, then don't ask for any extra stuff. Morons.

  • @kierrabelle In my country, we have something called minimum wage.

  • @kierrabelle Get angry with those who are really exploiting you--the restaurant owner! He's the one paying you $2.00 an hour. They ought to pay at least minimum wage and not indentured servitude wages. If no customers come in hardly for 8 hours you end up making $20.00 bucks. If they can't afford to at least pay minimum wage they should not own a restaurant.

  • @kierrabelle wow what shitty laws you have in the US o_O $2.83/hour is the type of salary I'd expect in an underdeveloped country . Having this in America is a disgrace and puts servers in a really uncomfortable poisition IMO! Why is there no realistic minimum wage there ? Weird...

  • @Snutih Our employers may only pay us $3 an hr, but the reason this system has remained for so long, and that no one ever truly complains is because with average tipping customers, we usually end up making (including that $3/hr) about $8 to $30 an hour, which does fall within the minimum wage range of employees outside of the service industry. BUT, if everyone was as ignorant as some of the people I see posting in the comments on YouTube about how we don't deserve tips, etc, yes we'd be broke.

  • @kierrabelle Or maybe if you do a good job and are nice and efficient you will get tipped. I hate the retards who think a tip is automatically included in a ticket.

If you are lazy, inconsiderate and incompetant with the handling of my food then you do not deserve a tip and frankly don't deserve the 2.50 you're being paid.

Don't act like waitor are an extra service. If I could get my own food I would but nooope I have to let someone bring it to me then pay them then the restaurant

  • @OcoryustheBold Go to Mcdonalds and get your own food and drink you dont have to tip.

  • This... Was... Actually Funny.

  • @jbeezo1 Firstly, fast food isn't more 'fast paced'. You're a fucking moron if you think working with a team to do one order at a time is more stressful than tending to 30+ individual wants/needs by yourself. Secondly, it's not a sob story, it's an individual account of what life is like when scum-people think "I don't employ you." Lastly, you type like a 3rd grader. Your profound selfishness and stupidity will merit no more of my time. P.S. People are still spitting in your food.

  • @jbeezo1 I work two jobs to support my elderly parents. I wait and I cook. I had to get a second job because of selfish, mouth breathing, inconsiderate, probably-demanding, dick gobblers like yourself. People don't take waiting jobs because they want them, they usually have to due to circumstances. If you don't believe in tipping-don't eat out. People like you are the scum of the earth. You know we don't make shit for cash, but you expect us to be there. P.S. There's spit in that.

  • @justiceforpoets Your job is to wait tables for a set wage. A tip is a gratuity, or a gift. Spitting in people's food for not giving you a gratuity is extremely unprofessional, and you should be fired for doing so. Perhaps you would be better suited tending to the fryer at McDonalds, since you can't seem to do your job as a server. Oh, and I used to serve food myself, and I took pride in doing a good job, regardless of gratuities.

  • @justiceforpoets a lot of people probably don't know that you make only $3.00 an hour. I did not know that until my sister worked as a caterer. So don't assume they understand the situation. Also, keep in mind that you had to get a second job because your BOSS at the restaurant only pays you $3.00 an hour. If he paid $12 an hour you could withstand it when you had a cheap tipper or the shift was slow.

  • 7 people are non-tipping, punk-ass, selfish sons-a-bitches who know nothing about what servers and other restaurant workers have to go through. You selfish and childlike bammas who voted down on this video should all be ashamed of yourselves, if you even have so much as the conscience to do so.....

  • This video is sooo accurate! I have been a hostess, server, and bartender and people really do take advantage of you and treat you like total crap. There are a lot of nice people out there but you can't believe how badly some people will treat you. It is not generally socially acceptable to yell at complete strangers and say horrible things about them but why is it ok for them to do it in a restaurant. I have been called some terrible things... and i was a good server too.

  • @orchidsummer47 The worst are the people who are soooooo nice to your face and laugh and smile like everything is fine and fucking dandy and then they leave you nothing or hardly shit! Fucking fake ass cheap bastards. I'd rather someone be a dick to me to my face and not tip me than go through the fake charade of being my best friend only to screw me over at the end. Fucking assholes. Those are the worst kind of cheapskates.

  • @395235 Yes I agree 100%. It's like as soon as a table looks me in the eye, smiles, and says "you did a fantastic job! This was great service, I'm definitely going to tell your manager how great of a job you did!" , inside I'm like "Damnit!" Because I know they aren't going to tip me anything... Like seriously people! I also can't believe there are still people in this country that believe that servers make like $10 /hour. Or even minimum wage which is like $7.25 or something. If only they knew.

  • Always watch your servers before you assume that they are just screwing around. 9 out of 10 times they are being stopped by other tables to fix mistakes others have made. And keep in mind that when you're food comes out slow or cooked wrong, that the server has no control over the kitchen staff. It's very unfair to the server to punish them for a problem that is out of their hands.

  • @FallenDRAngel

EXACTLY! And you know what, I didn't make your food and I didn't come up with the recipe. I do not control what items are on the menu. Why don't people understand that??

  • @mahyoume We do, but most things that go wrong ARE in the server's control like they put in orders wrong, they forget to bring you things you ordered, they bring out OBVIOUS things wrong like I received onion rings, but I ordered fries from OUR server. If you really make sure BEFORE you leave the kitchen that you have the obvious things correct, then you at least tried, but most don't, seriously, most don't.

  • I always leave at least five dollars for a tip when I eat out at restruants.

  • Uh 20% is pretty high.

But then again in Canada servers DO get $10-12/hour.

  • good to quit with that attitude.Glad I not have it.If people can,t aford tipping but can buy the meal the company should fix it.Makeing the job fun for you.Hours on job should be enjoyable you spend most your life there.

  • EVeryone should wait taibles and/or work retail at least once in their lives.

  • This is so hilarious, and sadly too true!

  • If you are too poor to tip your server, then you are too poor to eat out at nice restaurants with servers. Stay at home and eat.

  • @yingying98 Yep that's why we have fast food like McDonalds. No servers so your cheap asses don't have to tip.

  • @yingying98 AMEN! Fucking cheapass bastards.

  • @yingying98 Or you could go to a country like Japan, where the food and service is excellent, people take pride in doing the job they are paid for, and tipping is actually considered rude.

  • @yingying98 If the restaurant owner is too poor or too cheap to pay waitstaff at least minimum wage they should stay home and eat and not open a restaurant. Put the blame where it belongs. On the exploitative restaurant owners. How many non-documented workers they have back their doing the dishes?

  • THIS IS AWESOME!

  • I wish we would just give our waiter/waitresses a proper wage so they don't have to deal with this crap. But yeah, waiting tables sucks.

  • @kattheryn American restaurants could pay a fair wage to service staff, as in Europe, except for one thing. The $13.95 dinner you love, will now cost $23.95. I also agree that ALL people should work for a year as service staff, living off of tips, to really appreciate those who do this day in and out. And if you ask me what you can get for $2, I will politely say, "OUT!".

  • @mrpig2u

Servers in other first-world countries are paid a decent wage and food costs the same as in the US. And there's no tipping. It's amazingly great on so many levels.

  • To those who think that one should not have to tip...you also don't HAVE to go out to eat at establishments in America where the person serving your food and making your drinks is paid a wage NO ONE could possibly live off of because it is understand that the patrons of their establishment will offer some percentage of gratuity for anything but poor service. That's the way it is...not the way you want it. Don't want to tip? Then stay in your own country or make your own food, cheapskates!

  • @DanCWest I do cook all of my own food, and it's great! That way I don't have to deal with snotty waiters who expect a handout for shitty service.

  • thank you. now if we could make everyone listen to this every time they enter a restaurant it would be perfect. And to all the repeat offenders oh we remember your faces what makes you think that we wont do anything to "alter" your plates.

  • Do any of you know what T.I.P.S. means? To Insure Prompt Service - Back in the day when patrons used to tip before their meal and were treated accordingly.

  • i love this video

  • all you stupid brainless retards, that have no idea what its like to serve tables to you horrible rude people, is why im so freaking happy to no longer serve and not have to deal with you and your dysfunction

  • You're basically open to being a verbal(and sometimes physical) punching bag when you wait tables.

  • Serving sucks but if you do your job well then it usually evens out. My overall hour wage is usually $11 an hour and according to my reported tips in, I've made $1700 per month. You can make just as much money serving as someone with a degree. They reason that serving sucks, however, is because people feel entitled to treat me with disrespect simply because I am there to "serve" them. That does not mean serve as your punching bag or object of entertainment by humiliation.

  • tipping is some shit only happening in america. in europe you dont have to tip if you dont want to. servers are surprised when they get tips, not when they dont. its their job to serve our food and drinks and be polite. but i guess they get paid better than in the us. when i work for my company, the only money i expect to receive is from my boss, not from the people i serve or do works for

  • @titolacho bring this argument up to our bosses then, cuz they say its you who supplement our wages and the wages of everyone else working at the restaurant. If you dont want your food to cost 30% more in the future, leave a 15% tip now

  • @devolution1717 The restaurants won't do that. Because if they charge 30% more for their food and they are a crap restaurant then they are going out of business. If they are a fancy gourmet restaurant, this is not an issue because dinner is already $100 and the people who go there have no problem leaving a $20.00 tip on it. We don't have to eat out. They raise the prices 30% at Applebees or Cheesecake Factory they will lose lots of business.

  • @luceroblanco i know they wont do that... that's why servers rely on tips to supplement their wage

  • Tipping is customary. However, tipping SHOULD NOT be customary. I tip because I know how shitty their pay could be, especially at lower tier eateries, but I also know that I am able to get better service for NO tip in countries such as Korea or Japan, where tipping is NOT customary but superior customer service IS. Tips are now just a way for restaurant owners to save costs on wages, nothing more.

  • @TheDragon2k some servers are working in the restaurant business to take care of their kids and have no other choice but to serve tables. Your comment was rude and completely uncalled for. Tipping IS in fact customary.

  • @TheDragon2k go die in a hole

  • I love the social opportunities my job provides. Growing up, we always sat at the bar at restaurants - where we could get to know the person who is taking care of us and make it a really pleasant experience overall. I was raised that way and it's probably why I find it very touching when people take the time to appreciate the work I've done for them. The server isn't there to just "bring you your food." We aren't a delivery cart, we are people who, at the end of the day, want to be acknowledged.

  • So much hate brimming from these class-obsessed fools. I'm a hostess at a well-known chain restaurant, and cocktail serve at an upscale craft beer bar. I can tell you, it's very discouraging when people come in and run us till we're sweating to death, and leave us nothing in return. It's not only a matter of financial detriment, but personal insult. I love to bitch about this industry as much as the next guy, but the reason why I'm still in it is because I honestly want to make people HAPPY...

  • ...and people wonder why waiters, bartenders and bussers spit on the food served to black people the most. (referring to the black people that are regulars and always tip bad). I have personally had to fire at least 3 people in my career for doing it. Tipped employees can really react in the most brutally harsh ways when you try to screw them over. That's just reality. They feel disrespected when you don't tip...

Lol, to those who don't feel it's their "problem". You better hope ur food is ok!

  • @yeeluvspizza That's not just black people. I see white people do it all the time.

  • I usually tip 20% unless the waiter/waitress doesn't seem to be doing their job well.

  • I don't get it. Why would a server tip a bartender if the server didn't get tipped?

  • @wydok Because the bartender made the drink... It is based on sales not the tips you did or didn't get.
