An icon! I just found one wartime commercial too, with Kriegsmarine acceptation stamp, for a fair price, Just have to wait the papers... Good vid anyway!
I love my C96 (1915 Model), dissasemble is a pain in the ass after each shooting ( corrosive ammo -.- ), but it is such a fun gun. It's always an attention getter at the range I go to!
@csmybuttt I shoot .22 revolvers all the time. Also, my neighbor has every Sig Sauer under the sun that I shoot, I'm not new to handgun shooting, and since I'm a college student, I won't carry.
@something01992 Really? You need a fucking permit to even smell a gun or ammo in Illinois, where I'm an exam week away from my bachelor's.
I misinterpreted your question in the context of someone unfamiliar with handguns, something your channel proves wrong.
Although I doubt I am qualified to give my opinion, I'd go with the P08, since it uses the popular 9mm, and doesn't allow the possibility of hammer bite.
@something01992 how much money do you have ? the c 96 is very expensive .. unless your "opa" served in the "Kaiserliches Heer " or the "wehrmacht" and got one of these
@HackerAndBootSniffer It's a Mauser. They've used 10-round stripper clips since 1896. The roll marks on the side of the frame and top of the chamber assert that.
@KingCommando32 Luger and Tokarev are not weapons manufacturers, they´re just GUNS (exept for luger, because the 9MM is 9MM parabellum Luger) Walther is Ok (in Compact Firearms) and Colt is nice too, but I Rather prefer Mauser C96 than Colt M1911-A1, Have you forgotten Izhevsk Mechanical Works (Ak 47 manufacturer) I like the guns I said "Fuck" but i Prefer Mauser C96 (it is better an anyone else).
Get some information before talking to me (Please, calling Luger a manufacturer?)
@CSnakeV Wasn't that much about the money. The C.96 was vying for contracts long before the P.08 was introduced. The Borchardt-Luger M1899 was hopeful but the German miiitary requested a larger diameter loading - so Georg Luger introduced the 9x19mm Parabellum and chambered the M1904 in this caliber. It was adopted by the German Navy. Once the Luger had a foothold, Mauser couldn't attract enough interest to change the contracts.
But, instead, the Mauser C96 was ordered by Italian Army, British Officers, Soviet Union, China (later they made the Shanxi type 17, with could use .45 ACP, it was ussually modified so it could fire full-auto, but it jammed a lot) Luftwatte requested 5.000 of the M712 model, the most interesting thing of the mauser is it stock-holster, kind of useful, eh?
PS:Size was a problem too, C96 is bigger than Luger (exept for artillery model) both are nice, and have unique things.
@evildude109 A transferable machine gun (registered prior to May 1986) is exempt from other NFA registration. The barrel length and presence of a stock is inconsequential. This, however, is a C&R pistol and requires no tax stamps.
@llong91 Somewhat, it takes about three hands. You need to hold the frame, retract the bolt and hold it to the rear and then load the rounds into the magazine. The stripper clip functions as a bolt stop to keep it from closing on your fingers while loading. I've managed it before by holding the 'wings' of the bolt handle with my first two fingers and pushing against the frame with my thumb which leaves one hand free to load. Not very quick but it works if you don't have a stripper clip handy.
@MrCrimsonLance About what you see here in the video. Ease of loading depends a lot on the quality of the stripper clip - which is generally a rather cheap item made from a piece of bent brass or steel and a flat spring. If the clip is too flexible it's a real pain to strip the rounds into the pistol. The same difficulties with many charger-fed rifles. To contrast the C.96 - check out my video of the Steyr-Hahn. The chargers are much more rigid so it's very easy to load.
Its really crap, living in a country where the only weapons you can have are .22 rifles, or revolvers used only for hunting or you get an automatic 15 year sentence, or you can only have flintlocks which have to be over 200 years old or you get a simular sentence.
Incredible videos ! No bull ! No talking, just shooting (camera and rounds) ! You have a stellar collection of firearms DrakeGmbH ! Keep up the great work !

@Milkman3177 you're retarded my friend, you don't even know the difference between seen and scene. your a little kid and you've probably never fired a gun before. the stock is removable btw. dumb cunt
@CF4LIf3 I'm not sure what you mean by that. That's how it was designed and originally produced. There were some later variants that used detachable magazines but they are far less common than the standard 10-round clip-fed fixed mags.
@DrakeGmbH I've seen a detachable magazine one before and it makes sense that there was other variants. But I can imagine trying to reload that thing really quick when you've got Brits, Yanks, Russians or even Canadians charging at ya...
@nunvikingsofthesea It has hardly any felt recoil when using the stock. Very stable and it brings the sights closer to your eyes which allows you to shoot more consistently. Everything about the C.96 is at least somewhat awkward, but you get used to it once you learn where you need to keep your thumb to avoid the hammer.
is this weapon rare or is it possible to purchase? because thats an awsome gun

Dose it take a post production conversion or some thing to make it run using external magazines?
ZACY29 9 months ago
@ZACY29 Different frame. There were some detachable magazine models late in the production series but the vast majority have fixed magazines.

Stripper clips? I thought this thing was mag fed. She do both?
CF4LIf3 9 months ago
@CF4LIf3 Fixed magazine. Top fed with stripper clips.
DrakeGmbH 9 months ago
@DrakeGmbH Ouch.
CF4LIf3 9 months ago
@CF4LIf3 I'm not sure what you mean by that. That's how it was designed and originally produced. There were some later variants that used detachable magazines but they are far less common than the standard 10-round clip-fed fixed mags.
DrakeGmbH 9 months ago
@DrakeGmbH I've seen a detachable magazine one before and it makes sense that there was other variants. But I can imagine trying to reload that thing really quick when you've got Brits, Yanks, Russians or even Canadians charging at ya...
CF4LIf3 9 months ago
@CF4LIf3 What you're thinking of is the M712 Schnellfeuer. Its the machine-pistol variant.
lordxeras 9 months ago
@CF4LIf3 The C97 i think it is, is the one that takes the mags, and is fully automatic

what is the point of the stock?
nunvikingsofthesea 10 months ago
@nunvikingsofthesea The same as any stock, I'd imagine - to brace it against your shoulder.
DrakeGmbH 10 months ago
@DrakeGmbH is it more comfortable to shoot? It looks kind of awkward to hold?
nunvikingsofthesea 10 months ago
@nunvikingsofthesea It has hardly any felt recoil when using the stock. Very stable and it brings the sights closer to your eyes which allows you to shoot more consistently. Everything about the C.96 is at least somewhat awkward, but you get used to it once you learn where you need to keep your thumb to avoid the hammer.
