Towards the end of the TOD tour she had throat problems, which is when she got a lot of criticism. However, her voice is excellent, very strong with a large range. I have noticed she has problems with air sometimes, but that can be easily remedied. However, I've seen her live twice, and she was always fantastic singing live. I agree though that the songs from TOD are a lot harder to sing...couldn't believe it when she hit the high C over E in Weight of the World. Unbelievable voice!
you can't compare a good performance to a bad one. The songs from TOD are a lot more difficult to sing than those from fallen. You can compare a pair of good performances for example, rock am ring 2003 and zepp tokyo 2006 or 2007 i'm not sure. Besides not all the performances during fallen were excelent. She always had problems with air.
altough I still think that she has an amazing voice, what KittiiKatze has said it is not entirely wrong , i mean if you watch the rock am ring 2003 live concert and then you watch the latest one (2007) you can realise that her voice is not the same, she shows a lot of potencial on stage that's why i love her but sometimes she doesn't use her voice like before.
@amongthe its not tht she didnt use her voice like she did before, if u now watch the vids from 2009, u cn see shes bk to normal, but 2007 was a hard time for her, and also if u watch the fan live vids shes incredible :) (i know its a bit late to comment, but idc :P)

The latest Rock am Ring was in 2007, when her voice was already tired from a year of touring. (The Open Door tour, which started Oct. 5 2006, I think). It wouldn't be fair to compare both performances. Most of her "screwups" are from 2007 concerts. Look for this video: Going Under Live Hammerstein, her voice is amazing on that one, and it's TOD tour.
yes and no. =) she is portrayed as gothic, and dresses in that way, but she's added her own vibe to her music to make it alternative metal, and she and her band even say they are kinda goth, but more in the way they dress, not so in their music. =) GO AMY LEE
