From that to bloody Emmerdale. Gutted. I remember this scene. It's big cinematic stop-motin sequences like this that made me a film maker and animator.
Not just any B movie/Star Wars ripoff, "Krull"'s rep has improved over time.
I don't think anybody has ever used the viola and the bass to such dramatic effect as James Horner did in scoring this movie. Watch to after the Widow says "You cannot stop time," and try not to be moved by the music. Achingly, inspiringly beautiful.
esta pelicula y la historia en si es muy bonita. vi esta peli cuando era un nino en el colegio. me encanto. anos despues me la compre. la historia es muy simbolica y rica. La pelicula esta muy bien. ojala que peter jackson haga una version actualizada....
Her voice is soothing, I could tell she is more of a stage actress than a movie actress. Good for her I read somewhere that Annis never wanted to do the Hollywood route but stay in England and do more stage instead. Props to her!
Excalibur is a madcap flawed masterpiece...barmy and incoherent, but still bizarrely watchable and compelling. A bit like Lynch's Dune. Maybe it's the high production values, sets, costumes and insane energy of the whole thing.
I remember when i was 4 years old in 1983 when my mom took me and my lil brother on a special trip to see this movie. This was in Tijuana keep in mind, and to this day this movie has been and alway will be my alltime favorite! I can't watch this movie without reciting the lines!
Greatest score in my soundtrack collection of over 400 albums. KRULL KRULL KRULL KRULL KRULL!!!!!!!!!

Krull is a film that could be remade to expand the narrative of the larger world. I think if done correctly, it could be quite awsome.
bluesuncompanyman 2 years ago 2
Especially with the CGI graphics that can be done today. Can you imagine the Crystal Spiders or Ergo "the Magnificent" changing into an animal.
Penfold8 2 years ago
I dunno....after seeing Hollywood F&*$(# up so many good classics this past decade....I am wary of more remakes...

Yes, I was also moved by the music in this scene. They just don't make music like that in sci-fi now.
KRULL is now classic retro sci-fi which can't be replicated.

@germanicelt And hopefully never will be either. A remake certainly would lack any of the original magic.

European fantastic movies has a better art design than Hollywood fantasy films. Excalibur, The never ending story, and that, for example.

Yeah but Ralph Fiennes later dumped Annis for a mile-high fling with some slapper air hostess. A shame he did share Freddie Jones' power of vision.

And with a voice that could soothe any beast. I never tire of it.

For sure! It is no wonder that Ralph Fiennes dumped Alex Kingston for this beauty!
This scene to me was the best in the whole movie, pity she wasn't younger she would have been a much better Princess than Lysette Anthony.

Yes, the spider did attack and eat her. Since the Woman of the Web took the sands of time from the hour glass, she gave up her life.
