Also, Gari has now bundled both "News Series 2000 Plus" and "Eyewitness News" packages together. If you get 1, you get the other if you want. "News Series 2000 Plus" is just now considered WLS's signature of the "Eyewitness News" music package family. If there is a station that has the rights to the Eyewitness News package in a particular market, another station in that market cannot use NS2000+ since both packages are bundled together.
I wouldn't worry about ABC 7 switching to the EWN package. They have always used several different Gari packages for promos they do and they probably wanted something different for this new online promo.
True, but in those cuts from different packages, the signature isn't heard as prominantly. And the GM of WLS never answered my message asking about any music changes. One can only assume that they want to keep this hush-hush. Judging from that, ya kinda can't help but worry a little. ya know?
Someone had posted on here that they had emailed ABC 7 and they had said they would be using News Series 2000 Plus for at least five more years. I don't think viewers would like the change. WPVI just updated their Move Closer to Your World theme in 1997 and viewers complained and wanted it back how it was. I think Chicago viewers would do the same.
I'm the one that e-mailed the GM with that question...she also said that they wouldn't go HD 'till early '08...so i guess things are really up in the air for them.

Yeah, they normally like to keep things confidential and silent about any changes that they will make. Its how most <b>large market</b> stations are. I hope they don't change to Series 1 though because that is just too old of a package to use.
hmm...maybe. If WLS does swith to Eyewitness News, i'd rather it be a different theme than this...EWN has 3 signatures to it, and this one is my leat favorite

Hmmm, I not sure the Eyewitness news package of the 1990's sound good to me on WLS promo graphics, but it sound good on KTRK old graphics that been us up previousley in the 2006 of October. Anyways, 3 abc o&o abc/disney stations luckley excpet WLS are using the new generation EWN package. You could be right, it maybe a sign of what's to come, so we see on TV. :)
Really? what happened to the "Coming Up..." promos? I havn't seen them in many months...I swear they were taken down when WLS started doing these.

They still do them. I'm not sure if they were moved to a different commerical block or not but I still do see them.
