  • My birthday is feb 26th!! I have the same birthday as Johnny Cash!! Awesome! :D

  • This is beautiful, heartwarming, and heartwrenching. What a fabulous duet. I have chills listening to this. Somehow it reaches the best parts of good people. Thank you for a most beautiful post.

  • a hauntingly beautiful and eerily prophetic song -- brings tears to my eyes every time i hear it.

  • miss you so much J.R. :(((((

  • how this dont have a million views yet its beyond me, johnny boy you will always be the man, the man in black!

  • @TheOriginalMoc Because there's soooo many copies of songs on youtube that it waters down the ratio of views to users... eventually maybe youtube will cut out all the dupes... would be cool...

  • mr. cash was one of the most valuable artists in hystorie....

  • Can't believe it's been 8 years since he passed.

  • rip johnny june elvis deano waylon mj and many more music greats

  • my favorite johnny cash songs. so beautiful and haunting

  • A beautiful, reflective song about the passing of our days, the coming of fall, then the chill of winter with only a memory of the summer's warmth. We all must traverse that road.

  • always loved John and his family....Rosey..an amazing singer

  • @4aceshigh1957 Yes,she is!

  • It is not creepy, it is about life and loss, and facing it

  • I grew up with the Cash family in Dyess, arkansas. they were a chritian family, I attented Dyess Baytist church and Mrs Cash was my sunday school teacher. they were very good hard working folks. I am proud to say that I knew J.R. Cash and his sisters and brother tommy. Lavista

  • What a great tune and pictures thanks

  • is it me or does this song sound kind of creepy? he sang this song with rosanne and on the 13th of SEPTEMBER, the man in black passed away..

  • @85wheelz I think he knew it was coming, he could not face living without June

  • 4 people dont come to september

  • Comment removed

  • There will never be another Johnny Cash.....

    thank you!!

  • Johhny, you are a legend, thanks for your music!

    RIP

  • The frailty of Johnny's voice was haunting. When he came in on the second verse, it was impossible not to feel the pain and cry. This is such a beautiful song by two of the most talented artists in country music history and probably the best father/daughter combination ever. It crosses time and generations to reach inside of you and pull at your heart. We all miss Johnny and June. Thank you for posting this honorable tribute.

  • I can't listen to this without crying like a baby. I saw Rosanne perform it last Friday night, and I just sat there with tears in my eyes.

  • Just beautiful!!! How can you not love this? True beauty in a song. There's a lotta love happening there. Feel it, it will do anyone a world of good. Thank you Johnny & Roseanne!

  • How could anyone not be moved…

  • This song always breaks me up. A voice once very strong now weak. the verse: I cannot move a mountain now I can no longer run I cannot be who I was then In a way, I never was totally resonates. Was probably Johnnys final performance.

  • @Gav1959 His voice is still strong in my opinion:).

He was the king of country.

  • who doesn't just ache when they hear this? But his family must be so proud of all of the love left to them-you can hear it.

  • The 4 dislikes need to realize that no one cares what they think. This is one of the best songs in the world. Opinions are a right but not when it comes to this song.

  • Why does my life have nothing of value to others, I guess I must accept my place. I thank those that have the love and talent.

  • my dad new him wow he cryed when he heard this song he cryed hard

  • Just Magnificent!

  • I never cry.. But I almost did.. This song is awesome

  • Lovely song, like a happy-sad eulogy b4 his death

    RIP

  • @brnwlch00 to true.

  • June was obviously a big part of his life, he couldn't go on without her, I could only pray for such a relationship for myself, I fear it's too late. It's amazing, almost as if he knew he was going in September as this song is of dieing in September, and he did. Rest In Peace Johnny and June

  • @Maples01 June and Johnny- what they meant to each other and how they made their marriage work. Todays kids could learn from them.

  • Every time i watch and hear this, the hairs on my arms stand up. Outstanding !

  • Blimey...this video brought more than one tear to my eyes...

Great song and a great slideshow, very well done!

Johny Cash was the greatest of them all...long may he be remembered!

His music will live on forever...

"We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when. But I know we'll meet again some sunny day!"

    R.I.P. Mr. Cash!

  • Can't hardly listen, but can't not listen. Breaks me up........

  • @BaronVK1 MUITO BOM

  • @BaronVK1

I know how you feel , I cry everytime ..

  • Gyögnyörű dal! RIP Johnny Cash....

  • Jcook ... Beautiful comments & memories. Thank You for sharing :) Johnny Cash was truly one of the most amazing poignant artists of our times. I love hearing him do covers...what an honor Johnny paying an homage to other's works. Peace

  • We Always Love Johnny Cash.... i 'll listen your music forever Johnny Cash...

  • Thank you for sharing this moment between you, Roseanne and Johnnie Cash.

  • Gyönyörű,megható dal és klip.Riszpekt az előadóknak.

  • Umm, (frog in thoat-knot in tummy)... No comment for this.

  • Roseanne's sweet sweet voice wraps around me like a cloud of warmth and security. When I can't sleep I put on my headphones and no matter what song I hear, it is a soothing lullaby.

  • i love this song and how would this song make u sad or mad

    I LOVE IT

  • i love this song!!!

  • I saw Rosanne in Eureka Springs Arkansas about a month after her dad had died. She started singing this song. When she got the part that Johnny sang, she lost her composure briefly. Her husband spoke to her away from the mike. The audience was very understanding. We embraced her in that moment.

  • She was in Hamburg last night, and in Berlin right now, Great show, Great woman, Great song.

September is here, RIP Johnny Cash

  • Very few things are truly American but Johnny is one of them!

  • pretty said they are singing about september and that's the month johnny cash died

    RIP

  • russell, is every song in the world supposed to make you happy? Wow! You are missing many emotions in life. You are in denial of what life is about. Wake up and become a full human being! ;-) <3

  • so sweet!!!

  • Johnny hat mit seinen Liedern meine Jugend begleitet,

genauso wird er mich in meinem "September" begleiten.

    Danke JC

    thanks akasfan1 !

  • I absolutely love this song..

    RIP Johnny Cash

You are forever and always remembered./:

  • It's not really supposed to evoke happiness. The song is about life, death, mortality. My father faced a ten year battle with Parkinson's Disease, which he lost in Aug 2003.I'm pretty sure Rosanne Cash was trying to capture the beauty and helpnessless we feel when we lose someone in our lives.Makes me cry every time I watch it, but in a good way.RIP Dad and Johnny Cash.

  • love it!!

  • Johnny cash,,a man for all seasons,,a song for every mood,,,,theres allways a time and a space fo JOHNNY CASH

  • It is said that June knew Johnny would not pass unless she did first...it looks like she's thinking about just that at 1:43. Ironic how they sang this song for years and he died in September. We know more than we can imagine.

  • this song made me cry lol RIP Johnny

  • me too

  • I cried when I heard the song for the first time

  • @749christiane

so did i, its a powerful song

  • You made me cry you bastard!

  • This is one of the best duets of John & Roseanne-thank you

  • Great song, Great collaboration. Great video!

  • Makes me happy because he had family that loved him and memories that freed him!

  • To think that we lost John in September. One of the great faces of all time. I love the picture of John and June at 1:52. It looks like two people that have spent their lives together. In fact they are, John's life began with June and June's life turned with John. Probably one of the great love stories of our time....maybe any time.

  • im a massive johnny cash fan but i this is the first time i heard this song, im glad i found it, it really fits!

  • Das Lied ist traurig aber schön. Er war der größte.

  • Rosanne asked John to record this song with him, He said. Well, I h ave to read it over first. She laughed and said, Even being his daughter couldn't get him to do a song if it wasn't right. But finally, he agreed. She told this story on a tribute to Johnny Cash on night on tv. She was thankful because I think it's the only song the two ever recorded together.

  • da il senso della vita...con le sue emozioni ed il suo scorrere,grazie,bello...

  • Bittersweet is the word! Happy but sad!

  • It is happy in a longing kind of way. Bittersweet, really...

  • No its not weird! It was date

    Fate

  • How weird is it that he sang this song and died in september??? Am I the only that noticed it?

  • Yes June was beautiful and j. R. Always loved her so much!

  • isn't Junne so beautiful?

  • What a beautiful tribute from roseanne to do this song with j. R.

  • What a sad yet beautiful song to sing for johnny cash

  • one of the most beautiful things is love between a father and his daughter

  • Long live the life and legend of j. R. Cash!

  • In my memories he will never die!

  • why is everbody on here talking about johnny cash death let's celebrate his life

  • Heartwarming, sad and so beautiful...

  • Amen! I understand and j. R. Was the greatest!

    !

  • Having another form of nueropathy - 18 operations since 2001 and not a day without pain in over 20 years, let me tell you, Johnny Cash let the pain show. He wasn't superman. He was a weak man and knew it, hence his often spoken need for his savior, JC (not himself, the other JC).

  • The man who paved the roads for other musicans. May his music live on. R.I.P Johnny!!

  • First theres summer, then I'll let you in september when it comes<3

  • Amen! Thank you for posting your personal memories!

  • My wife helped to treat Mr. Cash at Baptist Hospital during this last years. She is a licensed respiratory therapist. We still talk about the fact that this man was a real gentleman, and gave her what I would call the best compliment he could bestow (I won't quote it here in honor of the private moment, but coming from Johnny, it meant a lot). And, this man had one of the best set of lungs for a sick man she had ever seen. He's a legend, he was the consummate musician, and his art lives on.

  • @jcook56050

Your wife must be a special woman to have been able to help Johnny Cash during his last years and Mr. Cash was a lucky man to have had a caring respiratory therapist with him during those final days. Did you have a chance to meet him? Your comments about Johnny are so true...about him being a legend....

  • @folkmusicgirl Thanks. My wife was special for helping so many other people as well. She has the biggest heart of anyone I know.

  • @jcook56050 God bless your wife for caring so much for one of her patients

  • @krstnlhjt you said it friend

  • Yes he did and that makes this song even sadder!

  • I believe so but I wouldn't swear on it!

  • didnt he die the september after this song came out? the thought gives me chills

  • @nicholasbhicks .......yeah he died that following september

  • As I said before I recentli lost my father too n this song makes me cry

  • a great song-sad but so beautiful-who ever knew September 12 th 03 when the

time came-I miss john so much

  • Im September, irgendwann ?

einen Monat, einen Tag, eine Uhrzeit....

    Irgendwann sind wir dran !

    VG

  • I believe rosanne did n then talked j. R. Into recording it with her. He was reluctant at first but rosanne convinced j. R. To record it with her! We should be grateful that rosanne convinced j. R. To do it cause the results were n still r phemomnal!

  • Grate fammilly-not many people can write such grate songs.

Did johny write it or did rossane?

  • Yes that is true. J. R. Had sensitivity n talent n his daughter rosanne cash is following in her dads footsteps with her career! She is so like j. R. N yet has a style all her own! R. I. P. J. R. Cash!

  • Amazing tallant

They have alot of sesativity in this fammilly and grate tallant

  • Wow that would be interesting to hear what j. R. Cash would say from heaven!

  • beautifully sad september came

  • Amen! This is so sad yet so real life. R. I. P. J

  • great song

    great video

there is a J.R.-song for every situation in life, and that makes him to a excellent musician.

  • HURT

  • Right on! I totally agree with the definition of happiness! R. I. P. J. R. Cash!

  • It is sad n depressing but I believe that j. R. N June are in heaven togather with all their family members. R. I. P. J. R. Cash!

  • In the end he was reunited with his family and was so looking forward to seeing June in heaven. I hope he does.

  • this song depresses the hell out of me. I don't know how it could make you happy.

  • It is a sad song not a happy one. It wasn't meant to be happy at all!

  • makes me happy

  • How would this song make someone happy?

  • @acashfan1

Happines, a limited emotion excludes the joy of love's many hurts.

  • @acashfan1 It just makes you think... What is around the next corner?

  • @acashfan1

why not? yes, it`s a sad song, but I think it`s also a song about being at peace and about loving your family.

  • @acashfan1 it shows that russell has faith in something greater then himself...please don't knock that....

  • This makes me cry buckets! I recently lost my father n this song makes cry even harder. R. I. P. J. R. Cash!

  • Yes j. R. Still speaks through his music which is timeless!

  • Johnny's epitaph could not be more correct as God truely spoke through this mountain of a man!

  • This song makes me sad n cry!

  • if you have any music in your soul this track must bring a tear to your eyes its beautiful though .

  • ein glücklicher Mann der in den " Armen seiner Familie " sterben darf.

Danke für deine Musik, du warst ein Mann.

Immer anständig und treu zur Familie.

  • Mach´s gut mein Freund, für mich warst du der allerbeste !!!

  • Amen!

  • This video makes me weep. Thanks 4 posting

  • simply beautiful! thankyou for posting this song! stunning!

  • He must have known he would pass in September and he did

  • Powerful. 50 years old and six years after his death before i discover Johnny Cash. RIP, love ya man.

  • R.I.P. THE GREAT JHONNY CASH

  • i love this song because it reminds me of my love for my three daughters and the love they have for me . its a very powerful song for the love that daughters and fathers have in a bond for each other mgt1948

  • "i can not longer run"

    Sleep in peace, Johnny!

Your doughter have a nice voice from you...

  • "I plan to crawl outside these walls, close my eyes and see. And fall into the heart and arms of those who wait for me. I cannot move a mountain now, I can no longer run. I cannot be who I was then, and in a way, I never was."

Sounds so much better in its entirety. So much more powerful... yet fragile.

  • absolutely love this song just brilliant

  • this song is tearing me up right now because my grandfather loved johnny cash and today i lost my grandfather due to parkiso diease and i am so sad but i know he is not suffering anymore and he is with god and jesus and johnny is there with him to

  • I'm sorry to hear that and yes he isn't suffering anymore. Kiss to you.

  • God bless you.

  • johnny had parkinson, too. they are going to rest in peace!

  • That was actually disproved by doctors before he died. The symtoms were far worse than Parkinsons, he had Auto-nomic neauropathy, it shortens the nerve endings and causes severe pain. But Johnny never let the pain show.

  • @acashfan1 i wish i could just give him a hug

  • @acashfan1 Did not know that!! Thanks for sharing!!

  • @acashfan1 i think it was good that he got to preform one last time before he dies

  • I MISS JOHNNY TOO. TNX. BRI

  • díky, Johnny, za všechny krásné písně......díky

  • beautiful!!!!!!!!!

  • that is the best word for it

  • MASSIVE Cash fan, the man and the music, but he aged terribly because of what he did to himself :(

  • This man is a true man I feel so sad without him and I'm only 13

  • Yesterday my father suddenly died because of a heart infact. He stops his car, got out of it and died. I can't hear this song without crying. Why you daddy?

  • To Aprilkind82:

So sorry for the loss of your father. It is so very hard to lose a parent. There is no rhyme or reason as to why these things happen, sometimes so suddenly and unexpectingly. Peace be with you and may you be surrounded by loved ones at this very difficult time.

  • @aprilkind82 my dad died from a sudden heart attack also. he was at the gas station, pumped gas, when to walk across the parking lot to pay for it, and dropped in the parking lot. it's hard, when you don't get to say goodbye. but look at this way, at least he didn't suffer. i think that would have been harder to take.

  • @aprilkind82 It is strange how music helps us to bear that which is unbearable.

  • He know everything thats sad =( witch people will know that hey died ?

When somebody say the best die is when you sleep an never wake up buts thats wrong!

  • How did he now he was going to die in September

  • rip love and light Johnny Cash

  • people know wen they are going to die espeically if its sumfin like that. u jus no wen ur tym has come 2 its end. especially wit degerativ diesies

  • that has puzzled me for a time roseanne asked him to do this song and when she told him the title he said no he said i just can't do it and roseanne sad i wont do it with anyone else i want to be with my dad so it took h a few months of talking and he said there is something about the song thatt turns me away if it really means that much to you if i were to sing with you then i will and then he died in september WOW it was like god letting him know and us in some way just when his time was
