@LEEzZzY121 Someone must have been talking about a Ford (Mustang) GT. If they are talking about a Ford GT they forgot the 1 in front of the 40,000. Plus if the GTM is built using the right parts it will stick right with the GT if not pass it. Now the GT will be worth more money in 20 years but I'm getting old and probably won't live that long, I want my fun now.
Building it yourself is part of the fun and enjoyment of owning one of these cars. Some people just don't get that, and that's fine, just don't put others down for it.

@mynock05 I'm hearing someone talk out their ass here. I just ordered my kit after being smoked by one of these several times at the track. The power to weight is excellent, the balance is perfect and it has just about a perfect center of gravity. I'll be glad when mine finally arrives and I can start assembly. Hope to have it on the road before November 2011, or sooner.

No roof, no a/c, no stereo, and no creature comforts; the atom is just something you can take to the track. The gtm is a car you could potentially drive every day. @jayjayda1st your biggest problem there wont be fitting it in it will be getting a modified harness and ecu that works with the rest of GTM's systems... but in theory yes...
dont like how they put 515 hp. it can actually be as much hp as your wallet will let you have. you can put up to 1000 hp with a twin turbo ls7 and a shot of happy juice(nos)

eh, im more of an automotive business type. I grew up with no money of my own so building a car and selling it for a huge profit is more important to me than driving the thing for a few years. id build one of these and put $50,000 into it and sell it for like $120,000. Since I do the labor myself that money is put into performance and making it as good as it can get. resulting in a $70,000 profit for one sale.
Business would be a good idea to get the GTM for, but I'm thinking about for driving, know what I mean? I'd be kinda depressed selling it after doing all the hard work, but it would make sense.
Yeah id be reluctant to sell it but $70,000 sounds really nice, which is 113% profit on it. if 4 people helped build it, thats $17,500 per person. That over twice as much as my parents have ever had in the bank at one time. haha. then with that id do smaller scale projects to get a few thousand at a time. I just need to fix up my current car and i can start doing that to pay for college.
wel if i made one it would have the LS9 engine with the G95 tranny and id program the timing myself to give this the acceleration of a bugatti veyron. I know how to do that. and i love doing it. so if someone wants real performance, thats where theyd get it.

not exactly. you can find a used donor corvette for less than 10k. if you find a crashed one, even cheaper. then paint will cost around 1k since all the body work is brand new, then you peice it together yourself add in the price of the porsche transaxle and the kit and you sit just around 33-34k so yeah, it does only cost about 40k. and that's over-doing it with 40k

there's nothing else on the road that looks like the GTM supercar. and for it's price it will rape Porsche's, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. look at track videos and you'll see that even with only a low horsepower engine such as an LS1 it does amazingly. Add in the LS7 and you've got a real beast there
the FFR GTM with a stock LS7 had a 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds and a 1-100 time of 5.5 seconds. with a good driver on a good day you could have 0-60 in 2.8 and 1-100 in 5.2 easily. and with upgraded brakes and suspension peices this hting will blow the doors off an ultima GTR on the track and with that same stock LS7 the GTM had a quarter mile time of 11 flat. the ultima GTR didn't have the 1.05 skid pad G that the GTM has either

@Joel0277 it is actually a kit car the GTM supercar (actually has been tested to provide better performance than a corvette. what you need to do is buy the kit from FACTORY FIVE RACING, get a donor corvette engine, porsche transmission parts, and some other parts off of a donor corvette. Check out the kit at FACTORY FIVE's website, look for it on google. If you are not interested in building it, FACTORY FIVE will put it together for you for around 50k, it would be around 40k to do it yourself.
yes, but here's the catch.. they say, oh, a supercar for 19,900.. but, there is an engine missing, the transaxle, all those little bits and pieces.. but to be honest, I wouldn't mind even 40 grand...

People, there is a company that builds these GTM. alanautosports . com Thats the name of the company. They put 1000 hp engins into these things and build them to your liking!! My dad got one built for him. It cost hime 130grand but it goes from 0-60 in 2.7 sec and has 900 hp.

OK, I gotta jump in... Check the website, guys. Some C5/C6 Corvette suspension pieces are used in this car. Notice the tendency of owners to use Corvette wheels. Leaf springs-Corvettes still use them to this day! They are not the backbone of the suspension, though. One in the front, one in the rear, mounted transverse. I can't possibly explain it, but they serve a purpose.
That's why I said SOME C5/C6/Whatever pieces are used. I didn't mean to imply that the entire set-up is used. I was explaining two separate, but related, topics.
Yeah the cars are gorgeous, but who wants a vehicle that's uses pop rivets to hold it together? The interiors are sub-par and the fitment of all the pieces is terrible. There is talk of a company who's building them right though.

@jayjayda1st your biggest problem there wont be fitting it in it will be getting a modified harness and ecu that works with the rest of GTM's systems... but in theory yes...

eh, im more of an automotive business type. I grew up with no money of my own so building a car and selling it for a huge profit is more important to me than driving the thing for a few years. id build one of these and put $50,000 into it and sell it for like $120,000. Since I do the labor myself that money is put into performance and making it as good as it can get. resulting in a $70,000 profit for one sale.

Yeah id be reluctant to sell it but $70,000 sounds really nice, which is 113% profit on it. if 4 people helped build it, thats $17,500 per person. That over twice as much as my parents have ever had in the bank at one time. haha. then with that id do smaller scale projects to get a few thousand at a time. I just need to fix up my current car and i can start doing that to pay for college.

wel if i made one it would have the LS9 engine with the G95 tranny and id program the timing myself to give this the acceleration of a bugatti veyron. I know how to do that. and i love doing it. so if someone wants real performance, thats where theyd get it.

not exactly. you can find a used donor corvette for less than 10k. if you find a crashed one, even cheaper. then paint will cost around 1k since all the body work is brand new, then you peice it together yourself add in the price of the porsche transaxle and the kit and you sit just around 33-34k so yeah, it does only cost about 40k. and that's over-doing it with 40k

My Brother inlaw has built there Cobra kits along with his friends and they fit like a glove..the doors are equal at all corners and they are fast.
I can't speak for the GTM but I would rather fly in the air, not no the road.

how much of the population is actually car enthusiasts? there's your answer. this looks more exotic than a corvette. now don't get me wrong, I love chevy and the corvette especially, but this is way more exotic than a normal corvette and it's quicker in acceleration and faster as well. the stock C5 was rated at 195 top speed, whereas this with the stock wheels from a vette will easily reach 200+

there's nothing else on the road that looks like the GTM supercar. and for it's price it will rape Porsche's, Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. look at track videos and you'll see that even with only a low horsepower engine such as an LS1 it does amazingly. Add in the LS7 and you've got a real beast there

the FFR GTM with a stock LS7 had a 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds and a 1-100 time of 5.5 seconds. with a good driver on a good day you could have 0-60 in 2.8 and 1-100 in 5.2 easily. and with upgraded brakes and suspension peices this hting will blow the doors off an ultima GTR on the track and with that same stock LS7 the GTM had a quarter mile time of 11 flat. the ultima GTR didn't have the 1.05 skid pad G that the GTM has either

@Joel0277 it is actually a kit car the GTM supercar (actually has been tested to provide better performance than a corvette. what you need to do is buy the kit from FACTORY FIVE RACING, get a donor corvette engine, porsche transmission parts, and some other parts off of a donor corvette. Check out the kit at FACTORY FIVE's website, look for it on google. If you are not interested in building it, FACTORY FIVE will put it together for you for around 50k, it would be around 40k to do it yourself.

The LS7 is a 427ci engine; that doesn't mean it's a big block; it's still a small block, but with forged rods, crank and titanium pistons.

The LS7 is way more efficient. If you want more power, all you have to do is cam it. The V10 in the viper is too damn heavy.

People, there is a company that builds these GTM. alanautosports . com Thats the name of the company. They put 1000 hp engins into these things and build them to your liking!! My dad got one built for him. It cost hime 130grand but it goes from 0-60 in 2.7 sec and has 900 hp.

The GTM Supercar is 100% new. The GTM Supercar weighs 2250 pounds. That is almost 1000 pound weight difference.
Power to Weight Ratio
2250 pounds/ 515 hp = 4.36 lb/hp
3146 pounds/ 700 hp = 4.49 lb/hp
Close, but the GTM tears it apart, aerodynamic, power/weight ratio, looks, ... everything.

OK, I gotta jump in... Check the website, guys. Some C5/C6 Corvette suspension pieces are used in this car. Notice the tendency of owners to use Corvette wheels. Leaf springs-Corvettes still use them to this day! They are not the backbone of the suspension, though. One in the front, one in the rear, mounted transverse. I can't possibly explain it, but they serve a purpose.
