I was a teenager with a collection of heavy rock records when I first heard the King's Singers' performance at Wolf Trap Farm Park on PBS back in the early 1980s. They gave me a new appreciation for the beauty and harmony that gifted singers, relying on nothing but their voices, can achieve. Have faith for the future, HappyParenting. Popularity waxes and wanes, but beauty and quality like this endure.

Countertenor and falsetto isn't mutually exclusive. Countertenor is only the musical term for the pitch of voice. But a countertenor sings most of the time falsetto which is only a special way of producing the tone.

And please: if you really like music it's a bit closed-minded to compare Lady Gaga with this. Any kind of music has its place. King's Singers as well as funk as well as pop as well as Monteverdi. There's a time for anything...

Nothing, nothing comes close to the uninhibited emothions of love for a child, my children, that this pours into my heart when I listen to this. It has all the strains of a Yiddish lullaby that my little Grandma Elsie sang to me. I love all music no matter if it's vocal, Instrumental or over produced as you put it. Just because something is changing does not mean it is wrong and to condone an entire generation because they changed something is terrible. Music is not about what taste you like. It transcends taste. Music does for each person something different with each style. That's its glory.

this for a birthday or a funeral and it would be equally respectful and significant.
