wow "what difference does it make who killed JFK" - unbelievable, so it doesnt matter if that was one of many government cover ups? My opinion of chomsky just dived, what a fake b*****d.
. Most CT's I've ever spoken with have no way of imagining an impersonal chain of events. That things happen even though nobody plans it. Or rather, that everybody plans; yet the gap between desire and the result is very wide and unbridgeable. So, he partly agrees, but I would say the CT's here and well, everywhere, all share a certain folk-wisdom-ish type of understanding of the real world fight for power that has always been going on.
His point was that there MOST CERTAINLY IS a power elite (though not shadowy in any real sense), that does go about killing folks. And it's called the US government. I think it's ridiculous to to try to 'pinpoint' (it's really not unlike the ancient people claimed Janus broke down the gate of a city, not the enemy battering ram) to a certain organisation. The problem with most CTheorists is that they see this power elite as a single entity, instead a wide and semi-self-conscious group of people
Chomsky's main concern is with the abuse of power. Much of his work discusses this issue. As another commenter pointed out, Chomsky thinks that finger pointing is a waste of time. Chomsky also realizes that there are rogue factions operating within the intelligence agencies, nobody has all the information. The Bildenbergs, NWO's, Illuminati or whatever they're called are the ones that are behind this. They are the small percent that control the wealth and abuse power.
If you would take the trouble to read Chomsky, you would understand why he's more concerned with looking at the larger picture. Note that he doesn't take a position on who's right or wrong with regard to culpability for the events of 9/11, only that there are other, equally awful, things that are well understood, and offer more potential for unmasking the abuses of power.
We can fart at each other all you like, but taking the trouble to understand each other might be a better use of our time.
Ok, I'd like to remind that he does take a position on the 9/11 issue. He supports that Al Quaida did it. In the end he has to take a position, and he took the wrong one. That's why I think he deserves a fart in his face, but I can understant that this is not funny for you. Thanks for commenting.
I don't want to beat this into the ground, so hopefully this will be the last comment. First, I'm basically in agreement with you. If Chomsky came out and said Al Qaeda at some point, ok, I don't necessarily agree with him there. He might end up earning your disdain for his 9/11 opinions. I just wanted to point out that the body of his work stands on his own merit, and is worth your attention.
But donaldw6, first of all thanks for your kind comments again, it's really good that we can have a conversation. How is it possible that Chomsky hasn't realize that the media has cheated us?! Even if his work has merit, which I can agree on that, how is he not aware of the most important topic,!? I really wonder is if he is a mason, a secret society, that knows very well how to keep secrets. Watch September Clues and help the 9/11 Truth movement. Take care.
It's really unfortunate that Chomsky has alienated so many who rightly question the official story of 9/11. I've done a lot of 9/11 Truth study, and have a very open mind. Chomsky is not a Mason or anything close. I'm saying that his critiques of the media alone should be enough for you to add his considerable knowledge to your own arsenal. I'm saying that reading him will help you, and will do nothing to undermine your 9/11 opinions. You can believe me or not. I'm just trying to help.
You are quite wrong, my friend (and very astute video analyst, I might add). I have spoken with Noam pointedly on this issue, and his points make sense. To paraphrase his message: "They lied. Of course they lied. When haven't they lied? And you know they lied and you know they've always lied, and what the fuck are you going to DO about it?"
Why dis Noam? Everything he says makes sense. Hey- there is a lot more to the "US Government" than Bush controls or even knows of. If you're not sophisticated enough to realize that, then... what can I say?
I disagree, you say that everything he says makes sense and, in my opinion, if someone still thinks that Bin Laden is responible for 9/11, or that in any scientific experiment many things remanin unexplained that means that he doesn't know what science is. The day you realize that, may be you'll be as sophisticated as me.
Funny stuff.
Where is that famous "war for oil"? Its in the same place the famous "saddam wmd´s" are...lol...
You see, the elite are actually commies, they are just waiting for the right time to "come out of the closet".

Noam's right, what does it matter if there's a shadow government ruling the United States killing folks whenever it pleases?
