There always has to a religious troll in every Buddhist clip on YouTube, honestly, proselytizing on the web is pointless, annoying, and a sign of pitiful desperation! Try to keep an open mind when it comes to other religions or just save your time and everyone else by just not watching these clips. Thank you for your time! :)
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers. 2 Timothy 4:3
You can do everything you want as long you don't harm sentient beings with body speech and mind. Actually freedom means being free of doing things which do not
I have a question i hope someone with insight can answer.. In buddhism there is much talk about the search for objective reality as opposed to subjective delusion and illusion. I have been studying the human brain and am faced with the idea that thought and mind itself is an illusion, how does one go about accepting the nature of his own thoughts/mind. What we call reality is still seen from a subjective point of view, the point of view of the human mind. Thank you!
@EarlySeed Hi, not 100% sure if this is what you are looking for, but it helped me with a lot of similar issues I was having. Type Anatta into wikipedia.
@MrBrunothedog Thank you, another question I have is how to distinguish between something you want to do, that you would regret not doing if you decided not to, and something you want to do, that you would regret doing if you decided to do it... Many people tell me: do the things you want to do in life or else you'll regret it, the buddhist teachings say something completely different, any opinions on this question are welcome.
@luvner@lamebrisee well my question comes from the fact that in the dhammapada a point is made about indulgence vs. self-control, and how the latter is wiser... Suppose I want to smoke a joint, I might regret doing so after because I lacked self-control, but where do you draw the line? A life where one always practices self-control can lead to a life not lived, am I right? Certain things that are bad for me can be a great experience, where is the line drawn?
ALSO ther is an effort to make the 99% think feel and look Loco (crazy). Educate yourself and this Propaganda Passes Folks. I Know. I Fought Propaganda Wars in Other Countries. SORRY.
In The Time to come we need to be wisw as the fox gentle as a sheep.(its a saying) As Ann Add on I do not believe in any accidents. We all are born into this (special) time in history for a reason. Some Will Be For & be the 1% Others Will Search for The Patriot way to give up all for the good of The Future 99%. Educate yourself. That happens 1st. Remember even the 99% once you start the slippery slope believing anything soon you will be fodder for everything.
happiness to me...ultimately when defined...means contentment....we realize that there is nothing that exists in this realm to fill us...which must mean that we are not connected to this world on the inside...we are trapped in our bodies..the real us yearns for something different...not physical...its as if our souls are imprisoned in these bodies for a reason..as if a test..i dont know...but definitely that is beautiful to think about
What I like about this guy is the way he talks. He just puts facts/information out there, letting people choose and think before they decide to, or not to, accept spoken knowledge. He is not preaching and trying to convince people that what he says must be accepted. Because in the end, lie has a need to be believed, truth just sits there and waits to be found. Peace to all ya!
This man is so intelligent and compassionate I do not understand (actually I do understand, unskillfull means) the attacks on his credibility. They call him a liar, a devil, an evil, shrewd politician, and many other untruthful things. I love my enemies as much as I love my family, as I love all sentient beings. I love even the enemies of H.H. Dalai Lama. They are missing out on so much. I pray for them and respect their right to believe what they want. May all beings find liberation. Metta!
The Ego keeps one from truly doing the Will of God.
Everything the Ego does - every. single. thing - the ego does is self-serving. It helps others, to feel good about its' self. It wants to be Jesusly, so as to have moral highground over others who are "less righteous".
"Be Still and Know that I am God."
and
"The Kingdom of Heaven is Within You."
You tell me one thing one thing in existence that cannot be of the Will of God. If it isn't, it is outside of God. Impossible.
@TheDaniiboy i had a different idea of ego i had an idea of the ego being more or less the total component of what one likes which fineline unwatered down Buddhism goes against. like desire, desire emanates from the ego, in Buddhism to have desire is considered wrong since it is ego, desire for wealth, wife, love of thing, love of being American, or love of Israel, etc. desire for a particular type of food etc.
I used to think this way too but now i've realised that is not how they mean it. It's not the desire that is wrong but the attachment underlying the desire. When the attachement is broken that causes suffering. Being an american or whatever is basicaly an illusion, there is no such thing. There are no countries in reality the human mind makes them. We are people living on one planet. I wish you all well on your journey of life.
The enemy is me, within, inside. Wish I could be like Dalai Lama!!! Very impressive soul!!! Love and Compassion works. Thats the only thing that works. I tested it several times.
Love and Respect to this very wise soul,THE DALAI LAMA. He speaks universal truth, this applies to everyone no matter what faith or religion. Without taming the enemy within you cannot have the eyes to see or ears to hear the universal truth and escape the suffering within or without.PEACE TO ALL!!!!!
people think it is about Principles Christ was not about teachings he, Christ was about belief in Him period. After that then the teachings followed. "Ye search the scriptures for in there u think lies eternal life but u dont know that they are that which testify of me". I was in all this meditation stuff and it did work a little but when the light of God poured in u just knew that u could never be clean without Christ.
@TheEidolon7 When I followed Christ with my heart and left new agism. Buddhist meditation, astral etc became cheap and nothing, I had been reading the bible selecting verses for meditation but when the Spirit of God came things changed. Can a dirty rag clean a dirty table? Can a man in debt pay the debt of some one in debt, will such man not be going further in debt, so is anyone who tries to make himself righteous, they impute more sin to themselves by saying I have no sin
@childofconvenant Christ taught different things from Buddha, Buddha taught dropping ego to enter in to Nirvana,( a heavenly realm) Christ taught do the Will of God. Christ can careless about ur ego so far as it is under the will of God, every Christian is given liberty to express oneself (in the Will of God). Yeshua said dat unless a man do the will of God he cannot enter Heaven. Not being righteous, but doing what God has asked u to do. However the will of God brings righteousness cheaply to u
@childofconvenant it seems simple huh, like is that simple. Yeah it is, thats what made me never believe Christian cuz it seemed so simple to me, to good to be true, I just believe in faith and I am made righteous. Well the devil specializes in making things complicated cuz the devil works with the intellect. Complex things are good at rousing one's flesh and stirring pride. Wow look at how smart and spiritually intelligent I am! But simple things, to submit to them takes humility from the heart
@childofconvenant You seem to have an understanding of modern, post Roman influenced Christianity, and that is fine. You do not seem to have knowledge of the original teachings of the Christ or the Buddha, which are essentially the same. If you are doing well, then be well. Let others also Be...
@TheEidolon7 Back again to the intellect, ur going to the intellect (the seat of Satan) where deceits and lies are incubated, and born, don't intellectualize the spirit, post Roman or pre Roman Christianity doesn't change God. "He is the same to day Yesterday and Forever". But I would like to know what is this original teachings you are referring too?
@childofconvenant Without the intellect we can not even talk. You would have no information whatsoever and names would be irrelevant. Here I will agree with you, Silence is better than words.
@childofconvenant But the world is complex. I can understand why one would be concerned about complicated, and possibly slick arguments, as they can be deceiving. It is perhaps like walking a tight rope, easy to fall off in misunderstanding or being deceived. But as one practices one is better able to stay on and complete walks at greater heights, reaching greater understanding of the world and becoming less likely to be deceived. Best of all, one is better able to guide others.
@childofconvenant And what is the Will of God? How do you determine that? Churches are institutions of Man ultimately, the holy books were written by men, and even worse certain ones were picked and others excluded by men with ideologies. How can you do the Will of God without contemplating the world both spiritually and intellectually. The two are not exclusive but rather support each other. Labeling something as Satanic so quickly is to dismiss and never understand it.
@tgillet1 i don't quite get what u said about the walking on the tight rope, i get that but what u mean about the complicated stuff, what are u trying to say in ur first sentence
@childofconvenant I'm not entirely sure what part of my post you are confused about, but I'll take a stab at it. The world is complex to begin with. That complexity grows with a larger and more complex society. While we don't need to understand the entire world to be happy, we do need to understand a lot of it. Medicine, economics, agriculture, and many other sciences are vital to our survival. They do not ensure happiness, but in this world they are necessary for happiness (for most people).
@childofconvenant To answer the questions necessary to understand these fields we inevitably come across questions regarding the origins of the universe, life, and intelligence. Religion has historically provided answers for these domains. Since one historical aspect of religion has been control (which may have been socially useful), there was good reason to prevent people from casting off dogma. We as a society have grown beyond those needs, and it serves us to question and explore complexity.
I don't understand why anyone has to bring religion or ones belief in to this negatively when Dalai Lama speaks about the same principals of living a positive life.
Believing in what you think is right is probably the right way for you, however, everyone is not like you and does not believe the same faith you have. Respecting differences can change everything.
The ignorance you convey is astounding. Karmatseringlhamo made a great point, and you completely ignore it. GO OUTSIDE OF YOUR TEXTS YOU BELIEVE TO BE THE ULTIMATE TRUTH. Try expanding your mind by stepping outside of these ludicrous boundaries you set yourself in.
"BELIEVE THOSE WHO ARE SEEKING THE TRUTH, DOUBT THOSE WHO FIND IT"

thanks again for wise word from a wise man. Religion or not that it's not so important, but to develop spirituality is indeed very important. We do not know so much about Jesus before he was 30 years old but he was indeed a great spiritual man. I believe Jesus was in India before he started to talk about religion and good. . If you like more about how I revived inner peace after the terror in Oslo I was an eye witness.
@onebuddha Believing in Christ is not a religion. Believing in God, One God, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is Faith. Man was created for Him, not for religion, not for other men, not for guru inspiration, but that His Word is the Truth, His Way is the Life. He was tempted on all matters, and overcame the World, the Flesh, and the Devil. By one man, Adam sin entered the world, by God's Spirit in Man the sin debt was paid. He died, buried that sin, and Rose from the Dead. We are healed.
@TheLionessjudah thank u my brother i was in all dis self righteous bs, when the light comes in u will just know that is darkness no matter how good it sounds u will just know that its not real.
@childofconvenant God bless you child. There is so much deception out there and it will get worse. Stay strong, keep in the Word. The deceptions are strong and is prophecised mankind will be given over to their delusions, If you like I can recommend Les Feldicks website for Bible study, Perry Stone for prophecy and John Macarthur, see the video Islam 7 year tribulation, so you keep up with what is going to come on the scene shortly. I am happy you wrote me, God is with you.
Really? Christ was never even mentioned in the old testament. Christs teachings were strictly new testament, and were akin to the same teachings of Siddhartha. Love and Peace.
@michaeltisdalemusic ... I thought Christ was was prophesied all through the old testament. All that business with the messiah having to be of the House of David, and that the lamb will be born in Bethlehem, etc, etc. And I do agree that much of Christ's teachings are really Buddhism with an Aramaic accent.
@FrodoDojo u got it mistaken fella, don't worry nothin wrong with that I did too, John 5:3 Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me Luke 18:18-23 the rich ruler did all the tryna be right and evrything but he could not inherit the kingdom of heaven (the tru nirvanna). My brother u may perhaps be a truth seeker.
Christ never told us to give up ego, he told us to submit our ego to him, read the bible well peace
@micWhen Christ said before Abraham, I AM, go to Exodus, and when Moses asks who shall I say sent me, and God replied tell them I AM that I AM. That is why when Christ said this to the Pharisees they wanted Him death. Christ is the Word made Flesh, whenever you hear in the O.T. Bible God speaking the Word, that is Christ as the communication, He is the Word, part of the Godhead. The Old Testament was all about calling a chosen priestly nation that would be given the Word, and the Word in Flesh.
Renunciation does not mean resisting the negativity. Nekkhamma is a Pali word generally translated as "renunciation" or "the pleasure of renunciation" while also conveying more specifically "giving up the world and leading a holy life" or "freedom from lust, craving and desires."
I found Dalai Lama's behaviour the very opposite to the Buddhist teaching of renunciation.
People in the comments..you have your views, your version of truth, the world and what is. If you can be peaceful with such principles and ideas, and have compassion and love with it towards others and yourself..it's good, if not it'sbad.
This is an attempt by men to rationalize the sin that was brought into the world by disobedience to make sense of it by ignoring God's Word, and taking on the authority of God, and hence one becomes, as this example, a minister of Satan. We have the curse of sin, born to it. How do you conquer sin, self? By acting like you are your own God?Go to Genesis, the devil tempting Eve and this is the disobedience that drove us all into the devil's control, here it is again in a man, attempting the same.
@TheLionessjudah ... unfortunately, Christ (if he existed) subscribed to the old testament which as anyone will tell you is a book of anger, prejudice, revenge and retribution. I think if Christ was alive today, he would point at the Dalai Lama and simply say ... listen.
@FrodoDojo The fact that you say IF Christ ever existed? And then go on about the Word of God like you actually read the Bible and can comment. The world wants to dismiss God, and that was the problem in the Old Testament, and is so now I would recommend, go to Les Feldick and listen to him, he is a good bible teacher. A modest man, go through the teachings,( free), then when you listen to the Bible teachings, it will be a life transforming experience. You won' t be the same. GUARANTEED.
@TheLionessjudah ... I've read the bible, cover to cover, many times over and it just didn't work for me. Let me re-phrase my previous comment: if there is a God, he left me out of his plan and so I am finding my own way, another way. Good luck to you.
@TheLionessjudah Open your mind, your Jesus obsession has stopped your thinking...in Buddhism and in Orthodox Judaism, which is what Jesus was (a Jew, he died a Jew, he taught Jewish teaching)....THINKING, QUESTIONING IS ENCOURAGED....try thinking, even Buddha said don't believe anything unless you reason it out and know it for sure, belief is not enough, don't believe everything you read, not even if Buddha says it he said....only the DEVIL keeps your mind in prison...I feel sorry for you.
@karmatseringlhamo Well then you have not fully read the Bible because your opinion is very ignorant of facts As far as feeling sorry for me perhaps you should happen on the buddist monk who died and came back from hell to tell his story on why he converted to Christ. Christ ided on the cross t as God in the flesh to pay your sin debt that was put on you by the devil. The Bible is prophecy of which 90% has been fulfilled, the 10 % left foretold is unfolding before us, its just you don't know it
I am telling the truth, and I am called a troll, and my comments went missing. Haha, obvious some people in the west do not want to see the lies of the Dalai be exposed. You guys can keep lying about Dalai, yet people will know the truth. :)
Dalai Lama, please do not butcher Buddhism. Nekkhamma is a Pali word generally translated as "renunciation" or "the pleasure of renunciation" while also conveying more specifically "giving up the world and leading a holy life" or "freedom from lust, craving and desires." It is not 'resisting negative thoughts', like Dalai Lama tries to convince us.
Nekkhamma is a Pali word generally translated as "renunciation" or "the pleasure of renunciation" while also conveying more specifically "giving up the world and leading a holy life" or "freedom from lust, craving and desires." In Buddhism's Noble Eightfold Path, nekkhamma is the first practice associated with "Right Intention." In the Theravada list of ten perfections, nekkhamma is the third practice of "perfection." It involves non-attachment (detachment).
There are many learned people in the east and the west dispute Dalai's spiritual authority and political agendas. Such work has been carried out by scholars such as Michael Parenti, Colin Goldner, Mariana and Herbert Röttgen, and more recently in the new book "Dalai Lama: Not So Zen" by Maxime Vivas.
Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
I don't agree with Dalai Lama's interpretation of renunciation. Nekkhamma is a Pali word generally translated as "renunciation" or "the pleasure of renunciation" while also conveying more specifically "giving up the world and leading a holy life" or "freedom from lust, craving and desires."

Boeddhisme is van oorsprong geen godsdienst maar een geloof, een manier van respectvol samen-leven met je omgeving. Het is gebaseerd op het oergeloof van de gnostiek. Modern boeddhisme is echter verchristelijkt, zoals bijna alles in onze maatschappij. Om zodoende te overleven. Nu is de tijd gekomen om weer vrij te worden en terug te keren naar de bron, het oer-geloof, het samen-leven in respect met je natuurlijke omgeving. Gnosis = weten. Compassie = vrede.
For those who believed his lie that China 'invaded' Tibet in 1959, check out the following historical documents to see how you have been deceived by the western lie-ridden propaganda:
- J.H.Coltons Illustrated Carbinet Atlas New York 1858;
- Gray's Atlas Map of Asia Published in 1874;
- Map of China & Japan 1844 by John Nicaragua Downer, World Atlas by Henry Teesdale & Co. London.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@OrientalStyles Check out maps that are over 100 years before china invaded and use that as proof? Get the hell out of here! If mexico started invading US because the south-west used to belong to mexico would that justify it? NO IT WOULD'NT! KEEP YOUR STUPID COMMENTS TO YOUR SELF! Nothing like stupidity and slander to ruin good videos.
Discernment is a very important part of spiritual development. By practicing spiritual activities, you become more discerned and being more astute in your judgment and understanding, and become more clear about the true nature in your heart.
Buddha did not become enlightened by looking up to some Guru. He did that because he was sincere in his heart for answers to the sufferings in life.
People who are sincere in their spiritual quest, should not regard the Dalai Lama as the one-stop point. There are many learned people in the east and the west dispute Dalai's spiritual authority and political intentions. Such work has been carried out by scholars such as Michael Parenti, Colin Goldner, Mariana and Herbert Röttgen, and more recently in the new book "Dalai Lama: Not So Zen" by Maxime Vivas.
Knowing how strong the propaganda is in the west supporting him, I am not surprised many westerners consider him a saint. After all the west have spend millions if not billions of dollars on him to wage the terrorist and psychological wars against China, simply because the west had always regarded the 'communism' of China a threat to the 'democracy' of the West.
@OrientalStyles By the way i am not afraid of communism. Im more afraid of people like you with ulterior motives. I harbor no hate against China or any person of a different country. Sounds more like you are doing a deliberate slandering of the Dalai Llama. Why? You know damn well what you're saying is a lie. This is why there will never be open dialog between China and US. Because you'r afraid. Why? What could possibly go wrong by allowing the citizens of two country's to talk? Change maybe...?
No matter how bad Dalai Lama is, the propangda that support his terrorist activities will continue to twist the facts and run the smear campaign against China by labelings such as 'dictatorship'.
Democracy is flawed from its fundementals. If the west continue to assume the moral high ground by its boasting of Democracy while committing abuses and corruptions, then so be it. Truth and justice never ceased to prevail and never will.
People in the west are often being subject to the scare campaign of dictatorships by their government, yet totally ignorant of the oligarchy withing their own country. Robert Michels believed that any political system eventually evolves into an oligarchy. He called this the iron law of oligarchy.
According to this school of thought, modern democracies should be considered as oligarchies. In these systems, actual differences between viable political rivals are small, the oligarchic elite impose strict limits on what constitutes an acceptable and respectable political position, and politicians' careers depend heavily on unelected economic and media elites. Thus the popular phrase: there is only one political party, the incumbent party.
I love how you consistently ignores the facts provided to expose Dalai's lies.
I am also amused how you attempted to deny my freedom of speech. US state figures are often critised by leaders of countries that US tries to have have a grip of for being hypocritical. You seem to prove that hypocrisy is not a practice exclusive to your state firgure.:)
FYI, Dalai is not a bona fide spiritual leader, people who have been deceived deserve the truth.
@OrientalStyles Sorry i didn't read your comment referred at me sooner, it didn't show on my account inbox. First, I didn't say he was a spiritual leader. Second, I am not trying to deny your freedom of speech. I am simply saying you are being deceptive. Third, you are again bashing democracy for what reason you don't state. Finally, how am i being a hypocrite? Please state in a non-roundabout way. Give me a clear notion of your intelligence and answer me honestly without deceit.YOU ARE A COWARD
For people who like Dalai because he appeared to be "a freedom fighter who opposes a dictatorial regime.", I can pray for them to know how much they been deceived by their government's propaganda one day.
I live in the west, and I am fed up with the biased media in the west. Democracy is not possible without a unbiased media. The west preaching human rights, are they themselves guilty of abuses.
The west's vicious smear only brings its own destruction. Such is karma.
@OrientalStyles I love how you didn't answer my questions. I also would like to know why you are bashing democracy on a Dalai Lama video. Chinese communism is just as bad as western democracy which i have a sneaking suspicion you are opting for. not that it really matters because both are at fault in someway. Will you please just stop being immature? Your passionate because you thoroughly believe something and that is fine. Just don't let you'r passion consume you because few people listen then.
As a buddhist, I am amazed how people in the west could regard Dalai, a state-sponsored terrorist as a saint.
Then again, I was just like that had I not been abused by the western democratic system myself. It was painful, yet it allowed me to see the lies of western democray.
My life is my spiritual practice. Seeing those abused me sufferring fitting consequences, I am assured that truth and justice never ceased to prevail and never will.
So simply because they were a part back then makes it ok to invade? Thats like saying its alright to take my child's life because I gave it life. I also dont care who he was appointed by. Its not where you come from that matters. Its what you do that makes the difference. What are your motives?
People who are sincere in their spiritual quest, should not regard the Dalai Lama as the one-stop point. There are many learned people in the east and the west dispute Dalai's spiritual authority and political intentions. Such work has been carried out by scholars such as Michael Parenti, Colin Goldner, Mariana and Herbert Röttgen, and more recently in the new book "Dalai Lama: Not So Zen" by Maxime Vivas.
The contention of the Dalai Lama’s exiled government that "the daily life of the Tibetans in their own land" are dictated by "torture, mental terror, discrimination and a total disrespect for of human dignity" is pure propaganda meant to collect sympathy points or monetary contributions; such accusations do not reflect today’s realities in Tibet.
Likewise, the accusations of forced abortions and blanket area sterilizations of Tibetan women, of a flooding of the land by Chinese colonists, of systematic destruction of the Tibetan cultural heritage do not agree with the facts.
Nothing legitimizes democratically the Dalai Lamas as "King-Gods" of Tibet; rather they are, similar to the other Great-Lamas, chosen for their role on the basis of astrological and other chance-predictions by the Gelugpa. The present Dalai Lama, who sees himself as the fourteenth reincarnation of his predecessors, was chosen this way at the age of two and a half years.
The Gelugpa doctrine is an abstruse collection of beliefs in ghosts and demons, combined with degrading rituals of subjugation. Like all religion it is based essentially on the exploitation of shrewdly targeted fear of the hereafter.
The teachings of Tibetan Buddhism are steeped in horrifying depictions of monsters, vampires, and devils. Who will not obey the divine laws of the Lamas will find himself inevitably in one of the sixteen hells. One of these consists of a being immersed to the neck in a "stinking swamp of excrements," while, at the same time, being "picked at and gnawed to the bone by the razor sharp beaks of the huge insects that live there."
In other hells one is burnt, smashed, squashed, and crushed by boulders or cut into a thousand pieces by huge razor knives. And that is constantly repeated over eons. What this kind of pathological Karma craze causes in the heads of simple structured, uneducated people–not to speak of the heads of three or four year old children who are saturated with this–one can only guess with a shudder.
Tibetan Buddhism systematically raises people with crippled minds and souls. A significant component of the ritualism, to which also belong various–as a rule deeply contemptuous of women–sexual practices, is the ingestion of "unclean substances." These include five kinds of meat (bull, dog, elephant, horse, and human meats) as well as five kinds of liquids (excrement, brain, sexual fluids, blood, and urine).
The in-depth reasoning for this kind of tantric rites is to obtain knowledge that "no thing in itself is clean or unclean and such notions are simply based on false abstractions." Consequently, even human flesh has to be eaten.
A whole society is victimized by such collective acts of delusion under the joke of this madness that is passed on from one generation of monks to the next.
In the end, even the monks and Lamas themselves are victims who, drilled since earliest childhood, having been robbed of any chance of independent thinking and acting, cannot themselves recognize this psychopathic lunacy in which they are caught; they who, contrariwise, take their hidden and crippled self-consciousness, their spittle licking and feces eating as an expression of a higher consciousness, indispensable for the "road to enlightenment."
Note: Colin Goldner is director of the Forum of critical psychology in Munich, an information center for those injured through psycho cultures. He presented numerous published critiques of esoterica and occultism. His latest publication is entitled: "Dalai Lama — Decline of a God-King" (Alibri Publishers, Aschaffenburg, 1999).
Munich: The Munich sect and occultism critic Colin Goldner is being massively threatened. This is triggered by his new book about the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Buddhism. Among other items, sexual practices of the Lamas with children are exposed. An anonymous letter was received by Goldner’s publishing office in September [1999] in which it was stated that "he must pay for this," if his book is not withdrawn. The note was signed: "Death to the Traitor."
The Alibi publishing house received a parcel addressed to Goldner in October [1999] and it was suspected to contain explosives. In the end, it "only" contained an evil smelling mixture of feces and paper. Colin Goldner: "Here we can see how far the supposedly peacefulness of Tibetan Buddhism is going. Violence runs like a red tracer thread through the history of Vajrayana-Buddhism, even though the Dalai Lama projects a different picture.
We are all not as blind as you think. Chinese officials refuse to admite that they invaded tibet and are doing things similar to nazi germany in regard to the bhuddist religion... Acting ignorant will not change the present, it will only serve to further hatrid.
I don't see any renunciation within Dalai Lama himself.
From what I have observed he is such a spiritual hypocrit and dictator.
I am sorry if I have offended any of his followers.
It is my sincere hope that one day people can look within to see their true nature, than looking outside to a spiritual fraud such as Dalai Lama for hope.
Western democracies are not only wasting their taxpayers’ money supporting the terrorists like the Dalai Lama, but also making their people vulnerable to these dangerous organizations. The allegations that the head of Canberra's Tibetan Buddhist community Lama Choedak had sexual relationships with several female students emerged late 2010. And the women received stern warnings from senior foreign figures in the Tibetan Buddhist movement against them going public. Canberra Times 1/5/11

The Lama had a good life when only he and the nobles ruled and 90% of the people lived in serfdom for hundreds of years until the Chinese came and kicked his fat as out of the country The people now actually own their own farms. Every thing he talks is non-sense.
The Chinese government a month ago issued a white paper on Tibet that outlined China's benefits to the Tibetan people. We strongly urge the Chinese Central authorities that instead of issuing white
papers that distort the grim reality in Tibet to review its current disastrous Tibet policy and opt for a policy based on the aspiration of the Tibetan people.
I think not thinking gives us peace. Then we are truly being ourselves, it is the most freeing of all things.
I love to go out and exercise or even going shopping, just doing something outside you get an unconsience feeling of knowing that I am doing something good for me, i get such a high. And then i do the things i love doing without a care what anyonelse thinks I just unashamably being me.
"The Kingdom of God is in you"....Jesus...Luke 17;21.....so is the kingdom of hell....its a choice made unconsciently....the former...must be made consciently...this is awareness...
And furthermore, he makes Obi Wan Kenobi resemble a Padowan Novice Apprentice in terms of the insight The Dalai Lama possesses and shares freely and the manner in which he expresses and conveys his feeling and thinking. By which I mean no disrespect nor slight to either, nor followers of either. His Holiness is just extremely impressive in his teachings and deportment. And before you say it - Obi Wan is real. In a galaxy far, far away...

A 22-year-old Tibetan monk burnt himself to death on March 18 in Aba, an overwhelmingly ethnic Tibetan part of Sichuan province that erupted in defiance against Chinese Communist Party control three years ago.
His act echoed protests that gripped Tibetan areas of China in March 2008, when Buddhist monks and other Tibetan people loyal to the Dalai Lama confronted police and troops across the region.
All ethical teachings, whether religious or nonreligious, aim to nurture compassion, to develop
I really wish there were more views. This man is so unbelievably caring, loving, and UNDERSTANDING. Love is pouring from him, I can feel it through the computer it's so overbearing!
I'm doing a religion assignment, i had a choice of Buddhism or Judhism, i firstly choose judhism, i found it difficault to follow the ways they choose, then I started looking up buddhism, and i really like the ways of buddhism, i find alot of truth and understanding, This is the first time I've listend too Dalai Lama, and i love it, i love him ^.^ when i think about , inside me i get this strange feel its wounderful,
No sex huh? No children, no humanity. Having kids and sex is a natural flow of things. Which one will you chose? Mahāyāna Buddhism or Vajrayāna Buddhism? Populair Buddhism or Intellectual Buddhism?
@FKSTAR7 His country is everywhere, and ultimately not of this world. When you realize that even Israel is not worth fighting over, with all the lives, hatred, destroyed lives. Why do we fight? its all ego, I Me Mine intolerance, all the very evil of the world. Carl Jung explains we are the only evil in the world, and it all revolves around ego greed.
wonderful people wrote the bible yes but WAS and IS inspired by God from God via the holy spirit.
The holy spirit is a messenger from God example ..like evry good andd loving thought is holy-spirit God ordained . Wonderful God uses ppl 2 achieve his purposes eg he has no hands but ours no feet but ours ever since Jesus rose on the 3rd day he uses holy spirit, bible and ppl 2 do his will
I dont have preconceived ideas of generalization, the Christian bible is the most widely read book tin the world....why theres even a bible on the MOON yes the moon .Could the Dalai Lama ever top that???? We all know the answer to that, no maybe he should really read the bible and humble himself and know that Jesus Christ is king of the universe..wat does that mean????? Dalai Lama is a mortal man just like me and u his advice is ordinary.. I choose to trust in the living word of God not man
@suziestar777 That is your opinion. What you are saying is not FACT, just theory. So do not presume to tell others where they are going wrong. When there is no right or wrong, only theories. Perhaps you should take some of your own advice and re-read the bible. I am pretty sure it says that god is the only one who is allowed to judge others.
Dalai Lama is a wonderful man full of wisdom. Long live Dalai Lama :)
I do hope you find some peace, both in your mind and in your heart. Maybe then you will see that posting negative comments on videos that you're not genuinely interested in, is pointless. Perhaps concentrating on what you believe in, and leave the people who admire Dalai Lama to do the same, will bring you peace. One thing I have learnt, is that a lot of people who try and force their beliefs on others, are neither happy nor peaceful. Which is sad.
The Dalai Lama has admitted to being a normal human, just like you and I. He is teaching the world peace, just as Jesus did. Just because he is teaching peace under a different title does not mean he's trying to be better than god. You are a christian, you are taught that god loves everyone. And that you should love everyone. God loves the Dalai Lama, maybe you should be a little more humble my friend.
Yes Christ does love us all and expects us to do the same in his actions and teachings can you, "Suziestar777?" And not "Judge" a man who is spreading the same message? Or do we get to see your anger and judgement who your savior advised you not to do?
@JuJitsu66 i agree with what you say, but you said "your savior". i think the bible teaches that christ is the savior of all the world, even of the dalai lama himself. a lot of people will find offense to that and vice versa.
in my experiences about 90% of christians do not "study, meditate or do service." not to trash christianity, for consider myself a christian. i'm open to him and find no harm in the lama's teachings. but i do not consider him a savior, nor would i devoutly follow him
@migol1984 Just as well. ;) Buddhism doesn't encourage anyone to "devoutly follow" another. Even the Buddha himself said "don't take my word for it. Go find out for yourself."
@kamwrites Well all of this is embedded into deep study. But hearing the Dali Lama's teachings would in essence require following him. It's the same with Christ's message. You hear it, understand it and act upon it. Remember what Jesus said, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness..." and then again, "the Kingdom of God is within you."
@migol1984 Not at all. You can hear a message and choose not to follow it. Just because one listens to what the Dalai Lama says doesn't mean they are a follower. It means they are listening to what he says. Then one makes up their own mind.
@kamwrites but what I meant was that when someone makes up their mind, if they make up their mind to look into what the Dalai Lama said that in itself is following.
@kamwrites actually you do see my point now. cause that has been my point, if they adhere to the Lama's teachings then they become his followers. you initially said the contrary, that the Buddha himself said, "don't take my word for it. Go find out for yourself." i'm simply saying that i wouldn't consider myself a devout follower. but you can if you'd like, i'm not here proselytizing or trying to convert otherwise. this is all very lively and i like exchanging thoughts with deep thinkers.
Need to make a clarification here. Follow, yes. Searching for "devout followers", no. Devout tends to mean one isn't thinking for themselves and taking everything at face value. They assume that what they are being told is always the correct thing "because he said so".
@kamwrites ok then maybe it was bad word usage on my part, but yeah that's essentially what i meant. i like being stimulated by different thinkers and dalai lama is one of them but i don't consider myself a buddhist.
@kamwrites I know exactly what you mean. But, I do have my personal views on this. When i look at Christ, I don't see it as "Christianity". When i see Christ, I view it as the prime example of how a human being should be. living after Christ is being your purest form fully conscious of who you are and what your purpose is in life. Jesus was the first to understand this, then he became Christ. It would be dope if every human understood what Jesus understood.
@kamwrites then you'd be in the minority. Like the parable that Jesus gave about the farmer in Mark 4, you are of the good good soil. Be well my friend.
@kamwrites I'd even further say that Christ is everything that we see and what sustains life in itself, moreso than a savior. Jesus was the first to understand this and act on it, thus he became one with the Father. I like what the Dali Lama teaches but in my opinion he doesn't go further than that. Christ also taught conquering yourself, the world and ultimately the universe. If anything Jesus was quite the egotistical man. Unless of course i haven't looked much into the Lama's teachings
@migol1984 The Dharma is the Dharma. He doesn't go any further than that, nor is he trying to. He is merely a teacher. Again, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. And I don't think Christ meant conquering the world and the universe. ;) He was saying if you know who you are, then you may be content. Buddhism teaches much the same, then takes it a step further. While the two differ in many ways, the teachings of Christ and the Buddha have many similarities.
@kamwrites I'm not trying to make a point really just sharing my thoughts. but now that you say Christ didn't mean conquering the universe well read this. Matthew 28:18. "All authority has been given to me in heaven and in earth." But yes, I understand the Lama's teachings and I have seen a lot of similar teachings with Christ. I just think that Christ's teachings can take the Lama's teachings a bit further than that.
Yes Christ does love us all and expects us to do the same in his actions and teachings can you, "Suziestar777?" And not "Judge" a man who is spreading the same message? Or do we get to see your anger and judgement who your savior advised you not to do?
I am disapointed that he thinks his so great, he isnt and neither is Budda, you see beautiful Jesus Christ Of Nazareth suffered on a tree for 6 hours , just picture 6 hrs from now ....thats how long it took him to suffer and die so we can have eternal life in paradise with him and our loved ones who also believes on him. Jesus Christ died yes...but the most relevant part is that on the third day he rose again ...he is very much alive and well And most of all he loves you!!!
@suziestar777 Preconceived ideas of generalization, distortion and deletion are other causes of our human nature to conflict. We create our own happiness with judgement. Fact. Inner rage to prove our point is pretty much toxic. Fact. Christ taught that too. Hugs.
Jesus died 4 u and is now alive and well ......he loves you ...And wants you to stop thinking that u are greater than he.....u are not king of the universe ....u are just man made by God thats it.....humble urself u are so conceited get over urself

Thank you!

@EarlySeed
just a question, why would you regret something you want to do?
luvner 2 weeks ago
@luvner @lamebrisee well my question comes from the fact that in the dhammapada a point is made about indulgence vs. self-control, and how the latter is wiser... Suppose I want to smoke a joint, I might regret doing so after because I lacked self-control, but where do you draw the line? A life where one always practices self-control can lead to a life not lived, am I right? Certain things that are bad for me can be a great experience, where is the line drawn?

happiness to me...ultimately when defined...means contentment....we realize that there is nothing that exists in this realm to fill us...which must mean that we are not connected to this world on the inside...we are trapped in our bodies..the real us yearns for something different...not physical...its as if our souls are imprisoned in these bodies for a reason..as if a test..i dont know...but definitely that is beautiful to think about

Impossible.

childofconvenant 4 weeks ago

@TheEidolon7 When I followed Christ with my heart and left new agism. Buddhist meditation, astral etc became cheap and nothing, I had been reading the bible selecting verses for meditation but when the Spirit of God came things changed. Can a dirty rag clean a dirty table? Can a man in debt pay the debt of some one in debt, will such man not be going further in debt, so is anyone who tries to make himself righteous, they impute more sin to themselves by saying I have no sin
childofconvenant 2 months ago
@childofconvenant Christ taught different things from Buddha, Buddha taught dropping ego to enter in to Nirvana,( a heavenly realm) Christ taught do the Will of God. Christ can careless about ur ego so far as it is under the will of God, every Christian is given liberty to express oneself (in the Will of God). Yeshua said dat unless a man do the will of God he cannot enter Heaven. Not being righteous, but doing what God has asked u to do. However the will of God brings righteousness cheaply to u
childofconvenant 2 months ago

TheEidolon7 2 months ago
@TheEidolon7 Back again to the intellect, ur going to the intellect (the seat of Satan) where deceits and lies are incubated, and born, don't intellectualize the spirit, post Roman or pre Roman Christianity doesn't change God. "He is the same to day Yesterday and Forever". But I would like to know what is this original teachings you are referring too?
childofconvenant 2 months ago
@childofconvenant Without the intellect we can not even talk. You would have no information whatsoever and names would be irrelevant. Here I will agree with you, Silence is better than words.
TheEidolon7 2 months ago
@childofconvenant But the world is complex. I can understand why one would be concerned about complicated, and possibly slick arguments, as they can be deceiving. It is perhaps like walking a tight rope, easy to fall off in misunderstanding or being deceived. But as one practices one is better able to stay on and complete walks at greater heights, reaching greater understanding of the world and becoming less likely to be deceived. Best of all, one is better able to guide others.
tgillet1 1 month ago
@childofconvenant And what is the Will of God? How do you determine that? Churches are institutions of Man ultimately, the holy books were written by men, and even worse certain ones were picked and others excluded by men with ideologies. How can you do the Will of God without contemplating the world both spiritually and intellectually. The two are not exclusive but rather support each other. Labeling something as Satanic so quickly is to dismiss and never understand it.
tgillet1 1 month ago
@tgillet1 i don't quite get what u said about the walking on the tight rope, i get that but what u mean about the complicated stuff, what are u trying to say in ur first sentence
childofconvenant 1 month ago
@childofconvenant I'm not entirely sure what part of my post you are confused about, but I'll take a stab at it. The world is complex to begin with. That complexity grows with a larger and more complex society. While we don't need to understand the entire world to be happy, we do need to understand a lot of it. Medicine, economics, agriculture, and many other sciences are vital to our survival. They do not ensure happiness, but in this world they are necessary for happiness (for most people).
tgillet1 1 month ago
@childofconvenant To answer the questions necessary to understand these fields we inevitably come across questions regarding the origins of the universe, life, and intelligence. Religion has historically provided answers for these domains. Since one historical aspect of religion has been control (which may have been socially useful), there was good reason to prevent people from casting off dogma. We as a society have grown beyond those needs, and it serves us to question and explore complexity.
tgillet1 1 month ago
I don't understand why anyone has to bring religion or ones belief in to this negatively when Dalai Lama speaks about the same principals of living a positive life.
Believing in what you think is right is probably the right way for you, however, everyone is not like you and does not believe the same faith you have. Respecting differences can change everything.

If you like more about how I revived inner peace after the terror in Oslo I was an eye witness.
onebuddhajeans 2 months ago
@onebuddha Believing in Christ is not a religion. Believing in God, One God, The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is Faith. Man was created for Him, not for religion, not for other men, not for guru inspiration, but that His Word is the Truth, His Way is the Life. He was tempted on all matters, and overcame the World, the Flesh, and the Devil. By one man, Adam sin entered the world, by God's Spirit in Man the sin debt was paid. He died, buried that sin, and Rose from the Dead. We are healed.

Dalai Lama, please conquer your self.

@FrodoDojo The fact that you say IF Christ ever existed? And then go on about the Word of God like you actually read the Bible and can comment. In Buddhism's Noble Eightfold Path, nekkhamma is the first practice associated with "Right Intention." In the Theravada list of ten perfections, nekkhamma is the third practice of "perfection." It involves non-attachment (detachment).

Boeddhisme is van oorsprong geen godsdienst maar een geloof, een manier van respectvol samen-leven met je omgeving. Het is gebaseerd op het oergeloof van de gnostiek. Modern boeddhisme is echter verchristelijkt, zoals bijna alles in onze maatschappij. Om zodoende te overleven. Nu is de tijd gekomen om weer vrij te worden en terug te keren naar de bron, het oer-geloof, het samen-leven in respect met je natuurlijke omgeving. Gnosis = weten. Compassie = vrede.

For those who believed his lie that China 'invaded' Tibet in 1959, check out the following historical documents to see how you have been deceived by the western lie-ridden propaganda:

- Gray's Atlas Map of Asia Published in 1874;
- Map of China & Japan 1844 by John Nicaragua Downer, World Atlas by Henry Teesdale & Co. London.

I am a Buddhist, but not a fan of Dalai Lama.

Thisismyfirstopinion 3 months ago
No matter how bad Dalai Lama is, the propangda that support his terrorist activities will continue to twist the facts and run the smear campaign against China by labelings such as 'dictatorship'.
Democracy is flawed from its fundementals. If the west continue to assume the moral high ground by its boasting of Democracy while committing abuses and corruptions, then so be it. Truth and justice never ceased to prevail and never will.
OrientalStyles 3 months ago
People in the west are often being subject to the scare campaign of dictatorships by their government, yet totally ignorant of the oligarchy withing their own country. Robert Michels believed that any political system eventually evolves into an oligarchy. He called this the iron law of oligarchy.
OrientalStyles 3 months ago
According to this school of thought, modern democracies should be considered as oligarchies. In these systems, actual differences between viable political rivals are small, the oligarchic elite impose strict limits on what constitutes an acceptable and respectable political position, and politicians' careers depend heavily on unelected economic and media elites. Thus the popular phrase: there is only one political party, the incumbent party.

My life is my spiritual practice. Seeing those abused me sufferring fitting consequences, I am assured that truth and justice never ceased to prevail and never will.

OrientalStyles 4 months ago
Likewise, the accusations of forced abortions and blanket area sterilizations of Tibetan women, of a flooding of the land by Chinese colonists, of systematic destruction of the Tibetan cultural heritage do not agree with the facts.
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
Nothing legitimizes democratically the Dalai Lamas as "King-Gods" of Tibet; rather they are, similar to the other Great-Lamas, chosen for their role on the basis of astrological and other chance-predictions by the Gelugpa. The present Dalai Lama, who sees himself as the fourteenth reincarnation of his predecessors, was chosen this way at the age of two and a half years.
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
The Gelugpa doctrine is an abstruse collection of beliefs in ghosts and demons, combined with degrading rituals of subjugation. Like all religion it is based essentially on the exploitation of shrewdly targeted fear of the hereafter.
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
The teachings of Tibetan Buddhism are steeped in horrifying depictions of monsters, vampires, and devils. Who will not obey the divine laws of the Lamas will find himself inevitably in one of the sixteen hells. One of these consists of a being immersed to the neck in a "stinking swamp of excrements," while, at the same time, being "picked at and gnawed to the bone by the razor sharp beaks of the huge insects that live there."
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
In other hells one is burnt, smashed, squashed, and crushed by boulders or cut into a thousand pieces by huge razor knives. And that is constantly repeated over eons. What this kind of pathological Karma craze causes in the heads of simple structured, uneducated people–not to speak of the heads of three or four year old children who are saturated with this–one can only guess with a shudder.
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
Tibetan Buddhism systematically raises people with crippled minds and souls. A significant component of the ritualism, to which also belong various–as a rule deeply contemptuous of women–sexual practices, is the ingestion of "unclean substances." These include five kinds of meat (bull, dog, elephant, horse, and human meats) as well as five kinds of liquids (excrement, brain, sexual fluids, blood, and urine).
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
The in-depth reasoning for this kind of tantric rites is to obtain knowledge that "no thing in itself is clean or unclean and such notions are simply based on false abstractions." Consequently, even human flesh has to be eaten.
A whole society is victimized by such collective acts of delusion under the joke of this madness that is passed on from one generation of monks to the next.
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
In the end, even the monks and Lamas themselves are victims who, drilled since earliest childhood, having been robbed of any chance of independent thinking and acting, cannot themselves recognize this psychopathic lunacy in which they are caught; they who, contrariwise, take their hidden and crippled self-consciousness, their spittle licking and feces eating as an expression of a higher consciousness, indispensable for the "road to enlightenment."

Note: Colin Goldner is director of the Forum of critical psychology in Munich, an information center for those injured through psycho cultures. Terror against critics of the Dalai Lama
OrientalStyles 4 months ago
The Alibi publishing house received a parcel addressed to Goldner in October [1999] and it was suspected to contain explosives. In the end, it "only" contained an evil smelling mixture of feces and paper. Colin Goldner: "Here we can see how far the supposedly peacefulness of Tibetan Buddhism is going. Violence runs like a red tracer thread through the history of Vajrayana-Buddhism, even though the Dalai Lama projects a different picture.

His act echoed protests that gripped Tibetan areas of China in March 2008, when Buddhist monks and other Tibetan people loyal to the Dalai Lama confronted police and troops across the region.

Perhaps concentrating on what you believe in, and leave the people who admire Dalai Lama to do the same, will bring you peace. One thing I have learnt, is that a lot of people who try and force their beliefs on others, are neither happy nor peaceful. Which is sad.
Peace :)

The Dalai Lama has admitted to being a normal human, just like you and I. He is teaching the world peace, just as Jesus did. Just because he is teaching peace under a different title does not mean he's trying to be better than god. You are a christian, you are taught that god loves everyone. And that you should love everyone. God loves the Dalai Lama, maybe you should be a little more humble my friend.
kawaiikaruson 8 months ago
Yes Christ does love us all and expects us to do the same in his actions and teachings can you, "Suziestar777?" And not "Judge" a man who is spreading the same message? Or do we get to see your anger and judgement who your savior advised you not to do?
Just a question, study, meditate, service.
JuJitsu66 1 year ago
@JuJitsu66 i agree with what you say, but you said "your savior". i think the bible teaches that christ is the savior of all the world, even of the dalai lama himself. a lot of people will find offense to that and vice versa.
in my experiences about 90% of christians do not "study, meditate or do service." not to trash christianity, for consider myself a christian. i'm open to him and find no harm in the lama's teachings. but i do not consider him a savior, nor would i devoutly follow him
migol1984 8 months ago
@migol1984 Just as well. ;) Buddhism doesn't encourage anyone to "devoutly follow" another. Even the Buddha himself said "don't take my word for it. Go find out for yourself."
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites Well all of this is embedded into deep study. But hearing the Dali Lama's teachings would in essence require following him. It's the same with Christ's message. You hear it, understand it and act upon it. Remember what Jesus said, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness..." and then again, "the Kingdom of God is within you."
migol1984 6 months ago
@migol1984 Not at all. You can hear a message and choose not to follow it. Just because one listens to what the Dalai Lama says doesn't mean they are a follower. It means they are listening to what he says. Then one makes up their own mind.
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites but what I meant was that when someone makes up their mind, if they make up their mind to look into what the Dalai Lama said that in itself is following.
migol1984 6 months ago
@migol1984 Yeah...if they make the decision to do so...I'm not seeing your point, here.
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites actually you do see my point now. cause that has been my point, if they adhere to the Lama's teachings then they become his followers. you initially said the contrary, that the Buddha himself said, "don't take my word for it. Go find out for yourself." i'm simply saying that i wouldn't consider myself a devout follower. but you can if you'd like, i'm not here proselytizing or trying to convert otherwise. this is all very lively and i like exchanging thoughts with deep thinkers.
migol1984 6 months ago
Need to make a clarification here. Follow, yes. Searching for "devout followers", no. Devout tends to mean one isn't thinking for themselves and taking everything at face value. They assume that what they are being told is always the correct thing "because he said so".
I'm about as deep as a shallow puddle. LOL!
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites ok then maybe it was bad word usage on my part, but yeah that's essentially what i meant. i like being stimulated by different thinkers and dalai lama is one of them but i don't consider myself a buddhist.
migol1984 6 months ago
@migol1984 You don't have to be Buddhist to appreciate what he says. I appreciate what Christ says, but I'm not necessarily a Christian.
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites I know exactly what you mean. But, I do have my personal views on this. When i look at Christ, I don't see it as "Christianity". When i see Christ, I view it as the prime example of how a human being should be. living after Christ is being your purest form fully conscious of who you are and what your purpose is in life. Jesus was the first to understand this, then he became Christ. It would be dope if every human understood what Jesus understood.
migol1984 6 months ago 2
@migol1984 I can agree with that.
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites then you'd be in the minority. Like the parable that Jesus gave about the farmer in Mark 4, you are of the good good soil. Be well my friend.
migol1984 6 months ago
@migol1984 Amen on that!
EULABEIA8 6 months ago
@kamwrites I'd even further say that Christ is everything that we see and what sustains life in itself, moreso than a savior. Jesus was the first to understand this and act on it, thus he became one with the Father. I like what the Dali Lama teaches but in my opinion he doesn't go further than that. Christ also taught conquering yourself, the world and ultimately the universe. If anything Jesus was quite the egotistical man. Unless of course i haven't looked much into the Lama's teachings
migol1984 6 months ago
@migol1984 The Dharma is the Dharma. He doesn't go any further than that, nor is he trying to. He is merely a teacher. Again, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. And I don't think Christ meant conquering the world and the universe. ;) He was saying if you know who you are, then you may be content. Buddhism teaches much the same, then takes it a step further. While the two differ in many ways, the teachings of Christ and the Buddha have many similarities.
kamwrites 6 months ago
@kamwrites I'm not trying to make a point really just sharing my thoughts. but now that you say Christ didn't mean conquering the universe well read this. Matthew 28:18. "All authority has been given to me in heaven and in earth." But yes, I understand the Lama's teachings and I have seen a lot of similar teachings with Christ. I just think that Christ's teachings can take the Lama's teachings a bit further than that.
migol1984 6 months ago
@kamwrites or not egotistical per se, but Jesus certainly was quite ambitious.
migol1984 6 months ago
