@lividreunion2011 I hate to be the one to break the news that King's X canceled their tour. Drummer Jerry Gaskill had a heart attack. No joke. You can look it up.
@Jefgg Yeah, we know they cancelled the tour! so we cancelled the show as well and will now head into the studio to start working on our CD! join one of our pages and when our CD is done, you'll get a free copy! google the real livid
They're not really a Christian band. Doug himself "came out" in 1998 and ever since then viewed himself as Agnostic. Later on in their music, especially in Dogman, they start to criticize it.
Ok, I'm a metal and hard rock guy, always hated the Strat guitar for harder rock like this till I got into Kings X. Ty! That dude is a monster. And to take a guitar that is not usually ment for this kinda music and make it the standard, utilizing the natural sound of it and then it becoming his signature. What an axe slinger this guy is. Check out Moanjam if you want to hear some fast lead guitar playin.
Some high school friends and I drove from Lake Charles to Houston to be in this video. What a great day, and these guys were top notch. Very down to earth. I still remember when this video debuted on MTV and we all huddled around to see if we could find ourselves in it. Our three seconds of fame would come at 3:49-3:52. Good times.
it's better that they stayed under that radar while Bon Jovi was breeding more Bon Jovis. If they had broken all huge like Slaughter, nobody would still give a fuck about King's X. we'd all be over it.
@krelbar well, i got stoned and had a beer and i'll admit there are a few good tracks. i like summerland, out of the silent planet, and pleiades. you have bested me.
great song!!! the dumb ass cartoon sucks ass though!!! Almost comedic though considering the song that follows it totally kicks ass compared to the "tra-la-la" song before hand!!
@narutoslideshowmasta dude, hair metal is poison, hair metal is cinderella, hair metal is bon jovi , it aint this band, they are truly underrated and i bet they would puke on you if you classified them as hair metal, just sayin........
I think the reason KingsX are not as big as they could have been was primarily down to the third album, Silent Planet and Gretchen were both excellent - with killer cuts and hardly a filler between them, Faith, Hope and Love sounded thin on production and was wanting on song content. Had KingsX or Dogman followed Gretchen - then I think the momentum they were building could have continued.
Damn shame, as they should have been filling stadiums, not many bands fuse beauty with heavy!!!
@FLVideoProductions exactly... i love them both... plus Skillet and King's X are to completley different bands... that'd be like saying Van Halen sucks and Iron Maiden is better than them... 2 different bands completely
C'mon tell it like it is , someone labeled them a " Christian band " and the music industry sat on their career . Show's how stupid the music industry is . Their first "official " album was called " Out of the Silent Planet " . If you have seen the movie you know it is NOT Christian . These guys have more talent and skill then anything you see today . We are just lucky to be part of it . " Music music , I hear music , music over my head " .
I totally agree with GetTraumatizeD's and unclep1971's statement. Doug Pinnick is AMAZING - ESPECIALLY LIVE!!! Why does this country have a hard time accepting Black rockers?? I think it's completely retarded. And let's not forget Fishbone and Living Color . . .
If anyone has ever wondered where Jeff Ament got the 12 string bass, thats right 12 STRING BASS that he played on Pearl Jam's album 10. It was from Doug Pinnick himself. Just one more contribution to music that this band that very few people have heard has made to some of the best music on the planet.
Saw these guys live in 1992 in a club that held less than 300 people. Incredible seems to fall short for a discription. A magic 3 piece. One of the most incredible bands very few people have ever heard of.
@GetTraumatizeD If the internet and all associated technology had exploded when King's X were in their prime they'd be the band with 20 million views. It has nothing to do with generations being "lost," even if today's popular music is awful. Why would you expect kids today to care about some band that achieved only mild success 20+ years ago? And, BTW, never trust view counts on You Tube. They are undoubtedly inflated.
@CHLillini yeah inflated by people who have to listen to annoying songs multiple times after hearing it the first time and needing to get it out of their head
@GetTraumatizeD Im selfish when it comes to my music Skillet(whoever that is??) can keep there 210 million views.Even no Kings X deserves the bigtime,I like them where there at,still playing clubs where they sound great instead in some big fucking stadium where they'll sound like poop.and who no's some asshole manager or somthin might come along and make them sell out.Even no I no Ty,Dug,Jerry have way to much integrity to do somthin like that to there fans
@ianthecosmonaut And I think this is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Go to ga-ga station. Perhaps they will apreciate your dumb comments there better....
@GetTraumatizeD Your comment just proved how childish and immature you are.

He as a 15 year old , has a better insight in his 'generation' , because he is living it through'.
@xXPredraGXx Nope, everyone is allowed to have an opinion. You can have an opinion, I can have an opinion. I can be thinking that your channel looks ugly (this is just an example, I'm not meaning it) but there should be some line to draw on it. Should I straightaway go and tell you that your channel 'sucks' according to me? Nope. There is nobody to stop me from doing that but there should be at least some patience and wisdom going on.
And yes, I do know what the current generation is like.

I'm an atheist and i used 2 listen 2 them in high school in 1988. They're good, who cares about their beliefs.

Great song from a great album from a great band. I wish they still made music like this. The newer stuff just isn't quite as great.

saw these guys open for accept. At first i thought of them as a nuisance but after i heard a few songs from them i forgot they were only an opening band. I think what makes them so much better is that you can see they're passionate about their music. They put on an epic show.

Pure rock n roll, edgy and well-choreographed vid, great riffs and extreme vocalization. What else do you need? Great Band!
