  • ouyeah

  • I heard this on Hair Nation and was like... WOAH! Who are these dudes?! Awesome band, I am very impressed.

  • LIVID & King's X Saturday April 7th at the coach house,

    San Juan Capistrano, CA

  • @lividreunion2011 I hate to be the one to break the news that King's X canceled their tour. Drummer Jerry Gaskill had a heart attack. No joke. You can look it up.

  • @Jefgg Yeah, we know they cancelled the tour! so we cancelled the show as well and will now head into the studio to start working on our CD! join one of our pages and when our CD is done, you'll get a free copy! google the real livid

  • LOVE this song!! The best part is the guitar! Love it!

  • They're playing the Key Club in Hollywood on April 5th! yay!

  • Why the fuck aren't they playing the halftime show? Sucks that they aren't as big as any big artist today, they're 5 times as talented

  • @metalbassistjd I Agree. Halftime Show would Rock with King's X

  • a vastly underated band.

  • Awesome band....positive and kicks ass

  • Great three piece band... :)

  • Absolutely one of the greatest bands of all time. Every time I saw them, I was blown away!! 3 guys??!!! R U kidding me??!!

  • Decent Christian Band. Listen to the lyrics

  • @joraider08

They're not really a Christian band. Doug himself "came out" in 1998 and ever since then viewed himself as Agnostic. Later on in their music, especially in Dogman, they start to criticize it.

  • At Rockefellers in Houston!!

  • i remember when MTV loved this for a second, they would play it in the afternoon when i got off school

  • One of my "go to" songs when I need to remember how good a guitar, bass and drums with great vocals can be. Kicks ass.

  • 11 people dont hear music over their heads

  • Ok, I'm a metal and hard rock guy, always hated the Strat guitar for harder rock like this till I got into Kings X. Ty! That dude is a monster. And to take a guitar that is not usually ment for this kinda music and make it the standard, utilizing the natural sound of it and then it becoming his signature. What an axe slinger this guy is. Check out Moanjam if you want to hear some fast lead guitar playin.

  • Great band, this is an awesome song.

  • I think he got the lyrics from a childrens picture book.

  • Got to hear them open up for Metallica in the early 90s and they were very good. Definitely in the under-appreciated category.

  • Mother's Prayers ...that we sense the presence of God. I HEAR IT...

  • Some high school friends and I drove from Lake Charles to Houston to be in this video. What a great day, and these guys were top notch. Very down to earth. I still remember when this video debuted on MTV and we all huddled around to see if we could find ourselves in it. Our three seconds of fame would come at 3:49-3:52. Good times.

  • @willchaf At the Backstage?

  • it's better that they stayed under that radar while Bon Jovi was breeding more Bon Jovis. If they had broken all huge like Slaughter, nobody would still give a fuck about King's X. we'd all be over it.

  • These guys were and are the shit. Ty Tabor is a God. Underrrrrated.

  • One of the greatest rock bands ever. Period. There is no justice.

  • It's been twenty and some years and every time i hear this song,i got goose bumps!

    Awesome...

  • @tdchagas02 Me too. I've got a double live album of theirs with a really awesome version of it.

  • king's x = win

  • MAN FOR A THREE MAN BAND WITH HARMONY ON TOP OF HARMONY THIS IS GOOD MUSIC!!

  • HE DUG STILLS SOUNDS GOODY!

  • I always thought the x was awesome

  • meh. not that impressed.

  • @cyberwaffles Listen to whole album. Get back to me.

  • @krelbar well, i got stoned and had a beer and i'll admit there are a few good tracks. i like summerland, out of the silent planet, and pleiades. you have bested me.

  • i thought it was so kool....he was on...That Metal Show.........great voice..great song!.......

  • Maybe if King's X got huge they would have started to make lousy music. Then they would have broken up. You never know.

  • Great band deserved much more limelife than what they got

  • great song!!! the dumb ass cartoon sucks ass though!!! Almost comedic though considering the song that follows it totally kicks ass compared to the "tra-la-la" song before hand!!

  • All hail the King!

  • Not really into Hair Metal, as I would classify this, but damn this is good!

  • @narutoslideshowmasta dude, hair metal is poison, hair metal is cinderella, hair metal is bon jovi , it aint this band, they are truly underrated and i bet they would puke on you if you classified them as hair metal, just sayin........

  • @baseball12ification Hair metal doesn't exist, guys.

  • @TheGreatDuck Good point, it's called glam metal. Dave Mustaine said it stood for "Gay LA Metal".

  • @SIZZLEBIZZLE1982 Glam metal = hair metal = doesn't exist

  • i came here because of Eddie Trunk. Am I the only one?

  • Come to Chile !!!!

  • Ah the mohawk mullet, I rocked one of those in about '87 when I was 12 or 13... I don't think I have any pix, everyone was too horrified lol.

  • Great song, wish these guys were Huge, thumbs up if you think so.

  • i just found out of this band b/c doug pinnick did backing vocals on a dream theater song. i like this.

  • I saw Doug Pennick at the Brass Mug (solo), there were like five people there so I think everybody actually met him :) It was a good show.

  • These guys deserved more fame than they got

  • @shadowzone69 I agree!

  • 10 people don't hear music over their head....

  • 当時しびれました HEADだけ 思考という意味で使わせていただきましたっ

  • ty tabor is one of the most underrated guitarrists ever

  • I think the reason KingsX are not as big as they could have been was primarily down to the third album, Silent Planet and Gretchen were both excellent - with killer cuts and hardly a filler between them, Faith, Hope and Love sounded thin on production and was wanting on song content. Had KingsX or Dogman followed Gretchen - then I think the momentum they were building could have continued.

Damn shame, as they should have been filling stadiums, not many bands fuse beauty with heavy!!!

  • @am1933

I agree. Faith Hope and Love was REALLY weak...killed their momentum big time.

  • it's Cool

  • Ty Tabor is a cool axeman

  • how come the guitarist and drummer look exactly like john lennon?

  • I don't know what a Frying pan has to do with anything.

  • @GetTraumatizeD

Skillet is good. No need to denegrate one band to feel better about another. King's X and Skillet both rock!

  • @FLVideoProductions exactly... i love them both... plus Skillet and King's X are to completley different bands... that'd be like saying Van Halen sucks and Iron Maiden is better than them... 2 different bands completely

  • CMVC(musicvideothread) plays this video all the time...''like'' CMVC facebook page now, straight from houston tx!

  • C'mon tell it like it is , someone labeled them a " Christian band " and the music industry sat on their career . Show's how stupid the music industry is . Their first "official " album was called " Out of the Silent Planet " . If you have seen the movie you know it is NOT Christian . These guys have more talent and skill then anything you see today . We are just lucky to be part of it . " Music music , I hear music , music over my head " .

  • pure class...

  • KING'S X A BAND THAT IS SCARILY UNDERRATED

  • great, original sounds from an awesome band !!

  • @GetTraumatizeD Skillet's not that bad, I listened to them a lot before I discovered prog. It's just different.

  • Comment removed

  • 27 fucking million on a band named after a frying pan that will never even come close to the genius of Ty Tybor.

  • they didn't go over due to the fact that in 1988, they didn't look or sound like Poison. Plain and simple.

  • I'm a jazz cat but these Mothas' Rock!!!!!!

  • Love me sum KINGS X since 1988!!!!! I've never understood the lack of support for these guys. EXCELLENT musicians n singers ~

  • @GetTraumatizeD 'Tis indeed a disgrace that Kings X were never more well known, but havin' said that, Skillet are good too, just not the same. ;-)

  • @GetTraumatizeD Agreed. This song when listened to is stuck in my head.

  • This needs to get more views. Holy shit. >:

  • I totally agree with GetTraumatizeD's and unclep1971's statement. Doug Pinnick is AMAZING - ESPECIALLY LIVE!!! Why does this country have a hard time accepting Black rockers?? I think it's completely retarded. And let's not forget Fishbone and Living Color . . .

  • @GetTraumatizeD normal people is fewer than abnormal

  • if you don't like this song, you don't have a freakin clue of what rock-n-roll is......

  • @sixpack375 Pretentious.

  • ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED BANDS EVER. ALWAYS WAS A HUGE FAN! LOVE THEM!

  • @GetTraumatizeD I also love how a Jonas Brother is advertising looking for a good band on this video.

  • c les je les est vue en concert dug celuis qui fait las basse ma donne son mediateur moi je faitde la batterie

  • Kings-X RuLeZ 4EvEr!

  • @GetTraumatizeD that's cause those of us who remember King's X, are not the young generation. The young generation unfortunately rules You Tube

  • If anyone has ever wondered where Jeff Ament got the 12 string bass, thats right 12 STRING BASS that he played on Pearl Jam's album 10. It was from Doug Pinnick himself. Just one more contribution to music that this band that very few people have heard has made to some of the best music on the planet.

  • Saw these guys live in 1992 in a club that held less than 300 people. Incredible seems to fall short for a discription. A magic 3 piece. One of the most incredible bands very few people have ever heard of.

  • Sister Rosetta Tharpe - Up Above My Head (I hear music in the air)

This is the inspiration for this song. check out the guitar playing on this one! I love her!

  • Great Band...it's a shame people now a days listen to this commercial crap they call music, and never hear real music like these guys!!!

  • John Lennon on the drum kit?

  • I LOVE this band.

  • The guitarist looks kinda like Geddy Lee.

  • @GetTraumatizeD lmfao no shit man / agreed !

  • @GetTraumatizeD It what makes the money

  • @GetTraumatizeD Skillet's not bad but they are not a pimple on King's X's ass. This band is legendary.

  • Love the guitar break at 2:03!!!! Kings X can rock as well as being moody - brilliant!!!!

  • @GetTraumatizeD If the internet and all associated technology had exploded when King's X were in their prime they'd be the band with 20 million views. It has nothing to do with generations being "lost," even if today's popular music is awful. Why would you expect kids today to care about some band that achieved only mild success 20+ years ago? And, BTW, never trust view counts on You Tube. They are undoubtedly inflated.

  • @CHLillini yeah inflated by people who have to listen to annoying songs multiple times after hearing it the first time and needing to get it out of their head

  • 5 people didnt hear the music over their head

  • one very tight band, with alot of punch.

  • @SuperBeatlesmusic You better believe it. I saw them a few years ago with AC/DC and they brought the house down.

  • I wore out the cassette playing this over and over when I was younger *LOL*

  • 95,188 views is pretty good for a band I've never even heard of.... and I like what I hear.

  • @7deadlyvirtues Also listen to Dogman, It's Love, and Black Flag. They are killer.

  • saw them live and they killed the place.overunderestimated

  • Saw these guys when I was 14, Had no clue who they were. But boy when they played! I was hooked! 7 years later, still hooked.

  • @GetTraumatizeD Im selfish when it comes to my music Skillet(whoever that is??) can keep there 210 million views.Even no Kings X deserves the bigtime,I like them where there at,still playing clubs where they sound great instead in some big fucking stadium where they'll sound like poop.and who no's some asshole manager or somthin might come along and make them sell out.Even no I no Ty,Dug,Jerry have way to much integrity to do somthin like that to there fans

  • WHAT A GREAT BAND, MAYBE THEY NEVER MADE IT " BIG" BUT ... THERE WORK WAS DONE

  • i saw this band in 94 man what an amazing guitarist freaking awesome

  • @Wabud420 Mission

  • dang I love this solo!! rock on!

  • @GetTraumatizeD this generation is not 'lost' because there are people with a different taste in music than you.

  • @ianthecosmonaut And I think this is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Go to ga-ga station. Perhaps they will apreciate your dumb comments there better....

  • @micanut48 Ga-ga station? What does that even mean?

  • been awhile since i heard this one!!!!!!!!

  • Musical geniuses.

  • @GetTraumatizeD Who the fuck is skillet?

  • 5 people like Justin Bieber...

  • Th better the band the less the views.

  • and some of the nicest guys in the biz

  • Wtf is the name of the other big hit these guys had from early 90's, features that heavy bass line and "yeah yeah yeah yeah".

  • @WaBud420 Black Flag and Germany

  • "Grandma used to sing! Grandma used to sing! Every night, when she was prayin'!"

This song is over my head and I love it! What an uplifting and rockin' song! Makes me want to shout! :)

  • Miss this stuff.

  • Underrated? Underadvertized. UnderMTVized. Underwhat? Just got no powerplay on media.

  • Great song & a very underrated band...

  • I never listened to King's X that much, but I loved this song.

  • Damn cool !! Peace out....

  • FRIKKIN KINGS X. in this day and age you dont need to have any tallent to become a musician. just know the same three power chords and your golden.

  • @GetTraumatizeD Your comment just proved how childish and immature you are.

"Good music" is subjective, you can't say what is good music. There are bands with technically more skills and creativity but you can't tell others what to listen to.

You sound like whiny teenager who pretends to be "tough", hilarious shit.

You can say what you say but it just proves that you are an idiot. Not everything should be said in public.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos Opinions are subjective too :/

  • @xXPredraGXx ...And? I said that.

  • @GoodGuitarSolos And...you're trying' to prove virtues' of subjectivness , by diminishing and opressing someone elses' subjectivity. Nothing personal though.

He as a 15 year old , has a better insight in his 'generation' , because he is living it through'.

  • @xXPredraGXx Nope, everyone is allowed to have an opinion. You can have an opinion, I can have an opinion. I can be thinking that your channel looks ugly (this is just an example, I'm not meaning it) but there should be some line to draw on it. Should I straightaway go and tell you that your channel 'sucks' according to me? Nope. There is nobody to stop me from doing that but there should be at least some patience and wisdom going on.

And yes, I do know what the current generation is like.

  • @GetTraumatizeD To be honest, I fucking hate comments like these. Every fucking video has something like "THIS ONLY HAS 80,000 views while LADY GAGA HAS MILLIONS, THIS GENERATION SUCKS". Shut the hell up already.

  • great song! great band! I saw them when they toured for Gretchen LP. great show!

  • saw them in london a couple of years ago, wow what a gig!!!!!!!!

  • one of the most underrated bands ever.

  • @unclep1971 and the other one greta.

  • thank god for youtube loved this video as a kid and was always mad more people did not know this song or band

  • The lead singer is now in a band with jeff ament from pearl jam called tres-mts..check it out

  • @ohmah70 ty

  • Saw this late night on MTV in 1989 ( yes they actually played videos back then) and never forgot it...

  • I'm still unclear. What is it that he's hearing?

  • Parece el "General"

  • Insanely good song, I can't believe how overlooked they are.

  • great song

  • For FNFB and G14: What got this started on a KX vid?

  • Has Jerry gone awol? Bout 5 yrs wtht X.

  • ' Grandma used to sing ..... music , music I hear music ' ..... sounds just as good today as it did when I first heard it all those years ago ... big thumbs up !!

  • Guys! You rock!

We will never forget the gig in Belsepub Gothenburg 1999 when EVERYONE in the audience were singin like 20 of your songs with three harmonies while we were waiting for you guys to show up on stage. The show was something we all will take with us. Probably a top 3 gig by anyone, anytime, anywhere. 10/10*

  • I've collected a lot of great music throughout the years, but somehow these guys slipped through the cracks...AWESOME BAND!!! I'm going to Amazon to see how many CD's I can buy from these musicians.

  • If they had hired a better director and costume designer they would have been big. But I'm happy to have them as my best kept secret. :o)

  • look's like geddy lee on the drums ha ha

  • I'm an atheist and i used 2 listen 2 them in high school in 1988. They're good, who cares about their beliefs.

  • Great Song!!!

  • Man did that 80's Fuckin rocked or what ...Awesom

  • I Love Them!!!

  • Great song from a great album from a great band. I wish they still made music like this. The newer stuff just isn't quite as great.

  • saw these guys open for accept. At first i thought of them as a nuisance but after i heard a few songs from them i forgot they were only an opening band. I think what makes them so much better is that you can see they're passionate about their music. They put on an epic show.

  • what a voice. love dug

  • Pure rock n roll, edgy and well-choreographed vid, great riffs and extreme vocalization. What else do you need? Great Band!

  • you know what ,i think if Hendrix could have sung well he would sound a bit like this .

  • MY UNCLE FUCKIN ROCKS!

    ROXANNE PINNICK.

    LOVE YOU DUG
