:D yeah that game is awesome. if you have a saturn get the game or the japanese version, which is also in english. it's truly multiplayer greatness. every now and then me and some friends still play it for a whole day

It was 100% completed for the Saturn, but never released because Sega got into a tiff with Eidos over the fact that Eidos was going to release it for the rival consoles as well. The game was originally meant to be a Saturn exclusive, as it was supposedly a continuation of the Streets of Rage series, just with a different name. When Sega found out that Eidos was gonna release it for the competition as well though, they pulled the plug on its release. Too bad, cause it would've helped sales...

The Saturn version *was* finished. Eidos decided not to publish it, so Sega Europe bought the publishing rights. But when the game got slammed in the Playstation magazine, they didn't bother releasing it.

The version that was leaked is an earlier version from November 1996 when it was still called Judgement Force. But the game was actually fully completed on the Saturn. I'd love to play the final version, but being able to play a leaked early version is still nice!

I hope the retail game will be eventually found and leaked. It must be somewhere. We are not talking about an unfinished beta here, its truly a completed game which was to reach shelves by Sega Europe, but ultimately never did. I still don't understand what made Sega Europe not releasing this game (seeing they still released other games in the meantime which weren't much better).

This is an unreleased version of Fighting Force for the Saturn. It was released on the PS1 and 2 years latter on N64. It had one sequel on the PS1 and Dreamcast. They never made a 3rd sadly and probably never will since these game are unfarely hated by most.

fighting force kinda blows. It reminds me of a rip off of die hard arcade which was a very fun game in my opinion. Never played FF for saturn but for N64 i'd have to so it was awful.

The fact is that this game was finished and ready for release on the Sega Saturn. Many video game magazines got a finished review copy of it and claimed it was the complete game. There was even an agreement that made Sega the publisher of the Sega Saturn version instead of Eidos (which was the one not wanting to release the game on the Saturn). I simply don't understand why it was ultimately not released.

it was not released because it sucked. sega of europe got the rights to release it but when every review site on the face of the earth said the game on psx sucked monkey shit they decided to not release it.

That's not enough reason not to release it. There were far worse Sega Saturn games that got released instead of this, which is not that bad. Some of those far worse Sega games came from Sega itself and they weren't left without release.

@drunkensailor112 Sega released the Sega Saturn version of The Lost World, which is a crappier game than this one. It's a very similar case since it's a 3rd party game which had to be published by Sega on the Saturn, and the PS1 version on the other hand was published by EA. Now, why Sega doesn't release Fighting Force, but does release The Lost World. Maybe because it's a movie tie-in? It still dismisses Sega's publishing "quality policy", the same that backed off Fighting Force.

people always tend to uptalk the past. even horrid shit games like fighting force 2 get comments on youtube how people liked them. I wouldn't always take that too seriously. believe me back in 1998 this game sucked and I know many people who thought so too. at leats it wouldn't have been a good adition to saturn since saturn already owns the best 3d beat'm up to date which is die hard arcade

I'm glad that Sega dropped this game. Before it became the awful crap that is Fighting Force, Sega wanted to consider it as another Streets of Rage game but their deal fell through.

This would have make a great SOR4. It's a great game that is highly underated and hated for no good reason. It is just like the old school 2D beat em ups and only has a couple minor flaws.
