The eye piece cuts your field of vision in half. Too much extra weight for the already over burdened soldier. All of that extra crap they have bolted onto the rifle would slow down target acquisition. A jammer would turn 25lbs of technology into useless dead weight.
i like how humans depend on technology for everything we are an interesting race i wonder what aliens use instead? maybe they dnt have spaceships like we do maybe they are in the cavemam stages?
what's next? Hardline Pro? Scavenger Pro? no way i'm gonna carry all that extra in 130 degree weather in Iraq, or drag it through the swamp. Seriously, the MILES gear is bad enough when they make you wear it for training.
It cant determin civillian from the enemy. It still cant stop US soldiers from shooting/killing allies and civillians. It just helps them do it better. Some countries had more soldiers die from US "friendly" fire than from the enemy.
3:40 Isralies made guns 9 years ago which already shoot around courners. "where only the gun is exposed" so are the hands holding the gun.
4:40 wow a new concept, actually know who your ment to kill.
"the soldier needs all the help he can get" how true that is.
I don't see this working. The information that the technology provides might be useful, but might also be too much and too difficult to process, especially in a high stress environment.
@wilfffilmkijken These soldiers are no doubt trained to use this equipment effectivley no matter what. They don't send people in with new hardware saying "Okay here's the stuff just let us know how it works bye."
@Kingbeastguy Of course, but training doesn't increase the amount of information we can process. Our brain has, just like a computer, limited resources.
@wilfffilmkijken Well you got me there. Still, the training can be used to teach them process the information quickly and comfortably. Think about it. At first try, you would be confused as fuck. After a few drills, you're getting the hand of it. After a ton of drills, the machine feels like an extension of your mind. And their have to show the info at appropiate speed. Like you say, we can only process so much.
@longngo12 I didn't say they are not trained to deal with stress. I say that stress still makes itdifficult to process a lot of information. despite their training
You can experiences this stress and lack of brainpower yourself! Do the following experiment. Go outside and run for a few hours while listening to the worstmusic you have ever heard until you are totally exhausted. Then, try to solve an extremely difficult mathimatical equation. Practice a lot and let us know your improvements! ;)
@wilfffilmkijken but wat is the definition of worst music and is it possible for me to find the worst music...probably not lol too many music in this world and barely know the names to 100 songs
It's useless...it's a fucking burden, it's for the defense companies to make a quick buck! I want a freaking force field replacing the 5 tonnes ballistic vest! That's all I asking for!
This is really old Land Warrior or (RoboGrunt) has been in the works for 20+ years the first prototypes had the computer crap carried in an ALICE pack and has been shrinking over the years.
Bad for eyes, radio transmitter is gonna cause cancers in brains....totally uneconomical. what they really should do is create and invest a robot capable of supper human strengths and then train soldiers to control those machines as if those were their bodies. Causalities would go from 100 to -99.
doesn't seem to be all that useful in combat. If I'm getting shot at by a militant, an emey soldier, a terrorist, I'd like to have it screamed in my ear rather than having to watch it out of one eye, and shoot with the other. Interesting thought occurred to me while watching this video:
In the last quarter of the 18th century (that is 25 years), the US was involved in 8 military operations (wars, conflicts, rebellions etc.).
During the first Quarter of the 20th century (25 years), US forces were deployed in over 50 operations.
The last quarter of the 20th century saw the US in almost 60 military operations.
The past /year/ has seen 4 military operations conducted by the US Armed Forces.
