Hey this video is for Iranians, do not drop shitty comments here. Azeri Iranians are very proud Iranians. We are first Iranian and then Azeri, Kurd, Baluch or anything else.
I went to Zanjan in Norooz this year and went to my old parents home in darvazeh Ark " At Darvazaseh". Saw two of my mates in my youth and found their charactor and behaviour exacly the same as the time when I left them 35 years!!. I went to see Amirkabir High school and it looked in ruins. I walked with my mate in alleys surronding the Amikabir high school and found them almost un-changed except for worse. It appears that our beloved home town has made no improvemen except in the outskirts.
I know Pahlavan Mahi. When I was a kid we used to go to Zanjan to pay visit to my relatives in there. I used to go to Amir Kabir high school with my uncle who used to teach in there. I loved Amir Kabir area so much because it was so unique in culture. Pahlavan Mahi was always there. Good old days. I want to go to Iran and go to Zanjan. I always loved Zanjan, especially Bazar Gheysariye. oh man I have missed Iran alot.
God knows that how I have missed Iran. I will go hopefuly during christmas holidays.
Have you tried Sarshir and Halim in Zanja? I have not found antything that could taste as good as the ice creams of Zanjan and the Halim in the morning, By the way Jighir Pighir is my other favourite food from Zanjan.
Great video, Well done for the collection.Brings back many memories of my beloved home town. I wish there were pictures of poets and writers and high school teachers such as Late Afsharchi(Physics Teacher),Zabihian (Chemistry) etc.Pictures of Pahlavi,Amirkabir and Sharaf High school Pupils between years 1346-1353 would be great too.
both of these teachers were my teachers at Amir Kabir. Afsharchi and Zabihian were quite decent men and also GREAT teachers, If I came late to class I knew what to do before I sat down, i would bow my head so Afsharchi would sort of give me BAMACCHE with both hands, of course in a friendly manner and i took it well. God bless both men.
Among all these characters NOBODY had the strong presence of Doi Vali. If he was there you could not , not feel his presnece. He alwys made his presence known in any way he could. He was more of a legend .He had the roughest look and he talked tough and slowly but as I said he was also the most literate of all these people. (not much of formal education but he was self taught). No body could match him in reciting poetry from his heart. (Moshaereh)he always challenged others for Moshaereh.
Muhammad Ibrahim Rozname forosh was also a good man. He used to sell books romance and novels mostly), papers and lottery. I used to borrow books from him for 2 rial a day or when ever Ireturned it. In one summer I read almost 30 books when I was working in bazar gheisarieh in a shop. The most memorable book I bought from him was a two volume books by A.Kermani Shabi ke sahar nadasht...an icredible love story and a piviting novel....
Pishik Hassan was a pedophile and a vicious pedophile. Once me and my friend were looking for a job and he offered us one that included breakfast. We were so happy but my mother did not allow me and later we learned from our street freinds that he was a pedophile and that was the end of every thing. His store was burned (half burned) twice and he finally left to Tehran where I am sure he would easily find more victims. We used to harras him a lot.
Ismaeel Ketabforoosh was a good man. As a high school student I used to go and look at books in his sotres and sort of read...if I wanted to buy books he would always give me discount without me asking for it...he was happy that i was a book reader and that was his way of admiring me...a really good man..
many of the Mullas also used to go and read in his book store. He was more of a Roshanfekr..
Akbar lampa is the most memorable of all these characters. While the other characters are remembered for their names or what they did or was attributed to them Akbar lampa has lived through because of his single liners. His single liners are still recited by his old bussies, admirers. He was quite creative in making those lines and it was his creativity that made him famous. He was NOT a thug. His lines no matter what would end up with" ganada lataam." (still the same ole cool guy )
Goddeh Mahmood was my friend and also my team mate in the Peikan soccer team(whose capitain was Saeed Mosavi, now the head of footbal federation of Zanjan Province.Mahmood was not a thug ,he had done some things such as stealing when he was a teenager but that is just him being a teenager,he was more of a bully(GODDEH),he would not pick a fight but no way in the world he would run from a fight either. He was small but was capable of knifing if it came to that. He looked and acted cocky.he was ok.
Ali Agha Sartip was quite cocky. We would run into him in outskirts of Zanjan near Koyne Korpi and in orchards south of Ferdosi street and even though he knew he was outnumbered and he knew that we all carried knives but he would still be cocky to us but was smart to mind his own business. If he ran into a young man or woman in the same situation no doubt that son o f bitch would attemp to rape him. He was a tru thug to the end.
Doi Vali worked Match factory in zanjan but he lived in a tough neighborhood and also he had to live up to his name and he had to keep a certain attitude but I think he had changed a great deal toward being good./
Ali Agha Sartip was a REAL thug. He was a vile, uneducated, illliterate thug who was capable of committing any vicious crime including rape if he could. He was a 5,3 and maybe 140 pouns but he was a psycho and very unpredicatable and he could use hi sknife any time on any body.
These characters were all well known in Zanjan and some for good reasons but many for bad reasons. Among these characters/thugs Doi Vali was the most famous one but I think he was misunderstood to the end. He was one of the most literate of all these and many people that I know. Doi Vali had memorized lot of Iranian poetry and he could recite poetry for hours. He told a friend of mine that once he walked on rail road from one end of town to another all the time reciting poetry.
