Sure, Iwo Jima was and still is Japanese soil, and the Japanese fought savagly to retain it, just as we put up a fight to take back Attu. (Kiska was abandoned by the japanese---they didn't put up a fight there, although we took casualties from boobytraps left behind. ) Iwo Jima is not a main island of the Japan though---it's considered an outlier.

Lousy accuracy, poor SPFX, shaky premise, terrible writing, bad uniforms, bottomless mags... And, in my opinion some good acting and writing *is* necessary for a film to be entertaining. Maybe my standards are slightly higher than are yours.

This film is an inaccurate portrayal of VDV Paratroopers as mindless, ruthless monsters that enjoy using RPGs on targets as important as a schoolbus. Really? When you paradrop in a foreign country, ammunitions are a premium. You don't waste them.
P.S: America has been invaded a lot of times before the XX Century, most notably during the Anglo-American War of 1812, in which freakin' Washington D.C. was set on fire.

Sure, Iwo Jima was and still is Japanese soil, and the Japanese fought savagly to retain it, just as we put up a fight to take back Attu. (Kiska was abandoned by the japanese---they didn't put up a fight there, although we took casualties from boobytraps left behind. ) Iwo Jima is not a main island of the Japan though---it's considered an outlier.

@Dystral alaska was not a state of the United States until January 3rd, 1959 when it became the 49th state. we bought the territory of alaska and we owned it at the time but it was not a state during world war 2. but if u want to get critical then you could also say how the phillipines and wake island was invaded by japan also, but they, like alaska, were not states in the united states. but yes many brave americans did die in the aleutian island campaign.

In 1935, the Philippines were established as a Commonwealth in preparation for Philippine independence. Google Aguinaldo and you'll see that there was a strong independence movement there that the US eventually acknowledged and supported.
