  • why this IDIOT is so fukin concerned about his age? Pagal da putar

  • this video helped me fix my ipod where as other suggestions, tutorials, guides etc wouldn't, great video thanks

  • thanks man, after trying to solve 21 error on restore mode & 1600 error on DFU mode this video solved my problem. THANX :)

  • Hay i don't even have a host file. I just have lmhost file

  • thanks for this Video my solution

Look at my chanal brand new cydia apps

    ;)

  • how do you do this on a mac?

  • 127.0.0.1 is your loopback address. All those entries are just malicious websites that his antivirus program won't let him go to.

  • @steelste Could you briefly explin as to what might happen you do this to your hosts file? Will I get viruses or spyware at all? What exactly is this doing?

  • @dannywithnoodles Removing something from your host file is not a big deal, you can save a backup copy of it by just using "save as" in notepad. As for removing the gs.apple entry, it will only remove the apply verification server from your host list (Meaning when it tries to verify with apple, it will not actually try to talk to them), it will not do anything to your system in terms of malware.

  • @dannywithnoodles And as for adding an entry to the host file, just do a little research on the IP address you enter and who the IP Address belongs to (Cydia, redsn0w, ect)

  • @steelste Aaaah, that clears a lot of things up. Thank you so much for all the information. But what IP is 127.0.0.1 for? It's not a specific IP is it? It's like a loop or something like that as far as I know, I'm terrible with this kid of stuff. But anyways, thanks for the information!

  • what are all those 127.0.0.1 addresses?

  • after i add 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com to the bottom and i go to close out, it says i cant save it and i have to save to my documents, can you help me out a bit here?

  • @YokieWartooth you'll have to save it somewhere else and then replace the file.

  • @YokieWartooth Run as administrator.

  • after this if you want to recieve updates again do u just delete the gs.apple.com?

  • Crazy contest: goo.gl\8ONjl with iPad 2 as a main prize.

  • 0:06 brian had sex, with a really dumb girl family guy

  • Hey can someone pls send me a file of an original host file cuz i kinda messed with mine >.< tnx!

  • when i try to save it says try to make sure path name is correct. what does this mean :S :(

  • Holy shit you used way to long time to show something really simple.

  • @HasteTheDays Will my macbook get jailbroken? I still have a warranty and wouldn't like to risk it. :/ changing the host file is the only possible way i can still have my photoshop because it keeps asking for serials and they won't work..Thanks in advance.

  • @GiMM3M0R321 Technically the term "jailbreaking" only applies to apple's iOS devices (iPhone, iPod, iPad and the Apple-TV). I don't think modifying your hosts file voids your warranty because if your Mac ever crash, it's not because of the hosts file. Hope this helps :)

  • @HasteTheDays Thank you!

  • I AM MISSING MY HOSTS file how is that? How do i get it?

  • @lupitalovesmusic You have to select "show all files" when you search for it with the notepad.

  • Why do i not have any etc file?

  • OMG THANKS.

It worked after years of working on it.

  • i need help man i cant find the hosts file.

    annoying shit.

  • please help each time i delete the apple ip address hosts and save it and i launch itunes then i check hosts the address is back again

  • thanks alot dude

  • Thanks so much this helped a lot it helped me fix it

  • If editing your host file didn't work, try just moving somewhere else temporarily like your dekstop and then running the restore or whatever you're trying to do. Adding the IP did not work for me but moving the host file did, but make sure you put it back after you restored.

  • I tried to remove the apple #'s and resave it so its not there anymore and it gives me a pathname error. i cant remove it so i can restore my iPhone 4.

  • my hosts file is missing . what should i do?

  • Thanks for making this video. It helped me!!

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • AAAAAAAAAAND.....nope, still 3194, doesn't seem to want to work for me

  • @Omegaman40 me too

  • Does anyone know if this will work to bypass the activation of my iPhone 4 by just restoring it? By not activating, does that mean that the warranty will never be activated as well?

  • Nope didnt work for me. error 1094

  • Im on a 3G running 4.0.2 in DFU mode. Every time I shift+restore to a different firmware it goes about half way on my phone and stops, and on the computer it goes to about 99% and stops. Everyone's telling me I shouldn't have problems because it's just a 3G but I'm having the same problems as others... help please!

PS. I do not have this SHSH thing.

  • OMG! thank you so much. This video has been so much help to me. Right Now my iPod touch 2g(Non MC) is Downgrading from 4.1 to 4.0 and before i edited my hosts file i kept getting a 3194 error message and now i didn't. THANK YOU... I will see it this works with downgrading from 4.0 to 3.1.3/3.1.2 firmware because IOS4 is to slow and lags a little with my iPod touch 2g and i cant stand it.... If any one needs help send me a message so i can make a video for more further explanations.... :)

  • PEOPLE! YOU CAN NOT DOWNGRADE WITH NO PREVIOUS BACKUP OF 4.0.1 OR BELOW ON CYDIA (which means you would have previously been jailbroke) or used an application called umbrella

  • error 3194

  • take off that red son of bitch we cant see what your doing

  • @gepd12 you can turn off the annotations from the bottom right corner of the player.

  • @omaraty009 oh didnt see that there thankz and sorry for cusing you out

  • isnt it supposed to say verifying with cydia instead of apple during the restore process?

  • so this does work for itunes 9.2.1 right?

  • OMG!! Thank you very much!! It really worked, you saved my life.

  • I did it to restore from 4.0 =/ I know theres a jailbreak for 4.0 but in 4.0 my ipod always went into recovery mode. And all my apps werent compatible

  • If I jailbroke my iphone 3gs with spirit on 3.1.3 and I want to restore it so that I can upgrade to 4.0 and I have my shsh blobs already backed up, how do I use the shsh blobs so that I can do this?

  • thanksssss!!!!!!

    you help me so much!!!!

  • i have my shsh backed uo when i had 3.1.2 and it still wont work lol

  • Well that was a complete waste of my time, it didn't work at all

  • im doing everything exactly the same and its not working, im not trying to downgrade just stay in 3.1.2 insted of having to upgrade to 4.0 and yes i did backed up my files on cydia. it just doesnt work i dont care what firmware i get, just not 4.0!!

    please someone help!!

just getting the same error. this devide isn't elegible for the requested build!

  • I did everything correctly, and tried to Restore my iPod touch 2G 8GB from iOS 4.0 to 3.1.2 (and 3.1.3) but I'm still getting the error code 3194 from iTunes after it tries to verify the Restore. Someone please help!!!

  • This didn't work for me. I have my SHSH backed up via cydia, as well as local on my pc. I tested the host, pinging gs.apple.com and it reported back 74.208.10.249. Computer reboot maybe?

At any rate, my ipad problem oddly went away after trying to put it to restore mode and then getting an error from Itunes.

so for the moment I don't need to restore anymore. First thing I did was once again check that my device was listed as on FILE in cydia, yes it still is. No idea what the deal was.

  • I don't have where it says 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

  • @danrushy You gotta type that in at the bottem

  • @MoviedogBG Thanks =]

  • woah this thing worked after few days just by editing host file- that was so easy thank you life saver- many other youtube video suks

  • itunes said ... 'device isnt eligible for the requested build' wth is that?? btw my ipod touch is 2g and 3.1.2 .. HELP PLS? :(

  • IT WORKED MAN! !!!! THANKS!!!!

  • Hey if I accidently jailbroken it with spirit without backing up SHSH, can i just restore my ipad and backup the SHSH blob and then spirit jailbreak it again?

  • @soul5tice You can actually do it without restoring.. just run AutoSHSH.. see i-EnthusiastDOTCOM for more info

  • hey bro, im doing everything like uve done but im getting the same message, the only dif between my host file and urs is mines a sample, do u have any ideas on y it isn't working and how to fix the problem?

  • my ipod was jailbroken ive got the 32gb MC model but accidentialy updated it so could someone tell me if it would worrk ?

  • So how the hell do I downgrade, I mean I only want to change the theme and use that cool control panel thing that pops down if you swipe across the very top of the screen. Somtimes I really hate Apple. Whats wrong with people downgrading, what a load of BS

  • Hello all

I'm certainly confused. Here's the issue I bought my iPod touch 32g MC model back in October-December when my iPod was 3.1.2 before upgrade to 3.1.3 but this not been jailbroken ever and now I most certainly would like to. I will not try to jailbreak until i know for sure it will work ( reduce chance of screwing up iPod ). Does this mean I cannot jailbreak? Or can I? If so will this tutorial work? Let me know asap

    Thanks

  • @risdon87 U can jailbreak with Spirit, but u had to update to 3.1.3 and after jailbreak can u use TinyUmbrella for save SHSH Blobs.

  • doesnt work for me

my hosts file is 1kb-urs is 300

    i have windows 7

    Please help

still put the 74.208... thing in the very bottom but still gives me the error in itunes

  • @C2aimar123 Mate, according to iPhoneEnthusiastBlog, your iDevice has to have already been jailbrocken and it's SHSH should have been backed up via Cydia. If that isn't the case then your pretty much screwed!

  • @dontmeswiddabest but i have ipod touch3g

is it still the same story

  • @C2aimar123 Sorry mate but I think it's still the same story :( Has it already been jailbroken and had it's SHSH backed up via Cydia?

  • @dontmeswiddabest Nope

    brand new

have to wait till june then

  • YOU ARE GREAT. VID IS VERY DETAILED

  • Worked PERFECTLY!! Tried this once and downgraded smoothly from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2

Thank You for the excellent video! 5 STARS!!

  • Is there a way to do the whole backup SHSH thing if you haven't jailbroken yet?

  • @HappieJuice Try TinyUmbrella

  • I even put it in recovery mode what's wrong i don't understand! I mean I only want to Jailbreak it for themes, What's wrong with that...?

Great song choice btw I rate u highly!

  • Plz Help!

  • I tried this with an iPod Touch 3rd Gen MC model but it wont downgrade it says that it's verifying with apple and then it says "the device isn't eligable for the requested build"

  • @dontmeswiddabest Unfortunately this method is only for idevices that were already jailbroken before and had there SHSH backed up via Cydia

  • it just says "this device isn't eligble with the requested build"

    Worked like charm for me!

  • Thanks, this worked great on my 16GB 3GS iPhone, I have my phone back at 3.1.2 Baseband 5.11.07 now. Why do Apple have to make it so difficult for their customers?

  • where did you download your firmware from??

  • If i have a brand new iPhone 3GS with 3.1.3 that never had 3.1.2 can i still downgrade in any way? Reply PLEASE!

  • No, the only way this works if you still have jailbroken files when you jailbroke it in 3.1.2

  • hey howcome u have all those things in ur host files, me it only goes till the example

  • Thanks! This worked like a charm on my iPhone 3GS! 5 stars and Favorited!

  • Glad it helped! thanks for the Fav* =]

  • so basically if you didn't back up anything, and you accidentally upgraded to 3.1.3, you are screwed?

I have the iTouch3G 32GB, and I accidentally upgrade to 3.1.3. I tried almost every tutorial on youtube, and nothing works to downgrade back to 3.1.2.

    HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

  • hey i followed the video and it still doesnt let me restore my ipod

  • Man why are Apple doing this to us. It's Stupid and I'm stupid for upgrading lol!

  • @ollynath we ar dude, we are...i just put my iphone in the drawer before i hurt myself or broke the iphone...

  • Comment removed

  • Could this method be used to restore 3.1.2 firmware? as apple does not sign then anymore.

  • yes, only if you backed up your 3.1.2 SHSH files with cydia

  • And yes it has 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 SHSH Files from the previous blackra1n Jail breaks, it is currently version 3.1.2 but i cannot restore it becayse apple doesn't sign the anymore. the only reason why i am restoring 3.1.2 is because i was messing around download random stuff from cydia, like lockinfo and Quickwidget whiched effed me up :)

  • okay then your good to go., just modify your Hosts file like the videos shows so you can restore your iphone.

  • i did it like the vid :D, but it doesn't work do you wanna take a look at my host file? i'll send you a copy. i pasted the thing at the bottom, 74.14235.645 or w/e and still doesnt work.

  • Hi man thanks for the video.
