  • Nossa... Mulher tocando trompete é muito estranho...

  • Great Job!!

  • That was my band director she was awesome....... wish you were back miss J......

Thanks for everything.- :this is Devan ........... Please up this thank you

  • Pretty good!

  • Oh, God, Becky - you don't know what that's doing to me!!

It's one of my favourite YouTube vids.

    Bravissimo!

  • sounds like a jazzer is playing this trumpet part.../

  • aww... they didn't do full organ at the end....

  • How very, very beautiful!

  • The organist knew what he was doing by not using a lot of 16' tone. Its characteristic of organs from the time the music was written.

  • well played on the trumpet! :)

I agree with the comments below about the organ.

  • can we please activate some of those 16' pipes on the organ...its too bland and lacking of character from the organ part, the trumpet was stellar, but the organ part needs bass substance, other than that it was pretty good =)

  • very nice, it seems to be a great organ

  • man i'm playing this song for my ensemble (a freshman but we're both freshman so i got 1st) i song way worse than her she rocks

  • Nice but a little too quick

  • You think, that this interpretation is a little tto quick. What is your meaning of my interpretation. Search for: gerard van reenen trumpet voluntary

  • It sounds very well. I like it very much!

  • schön :-)

  • I think she was in college at this time, as of now she is our assistant band director.

  • ahahahahaahaha >.>

  • It was definitely a Bb Picc tuned in A. Unfortunately, had just come from playing the Hindemith for Trumpet and the 3rd mvt from the Presser Suite on two different trumpets. Horn was a little cold and thus out of tune. Only played for about two months before recital and didn't practice regularly. Could've been better.

  • "could have been better"

Maybe, only if you were a 30 year professional, I found nothing wrong with your performance other than a minor tempo? issue at 3:00, so what! it's a lovely bright piece, one of my favorites, the organ and trumpet go well together and it takes guts to play to an audience so never sell yourself short for minor mistakes or stupid comments certain idiots posted here made- lets see them record a better performance!

  • This was an amazing and mature performance especially in view of her age. The picc is very difficult to play in terms of pitch and intonation. Her was a performance definitley one to be proud of. Very gutsy in front of an audience.

The picc would most likely have been a Bb instrument tuned to A (natural) with an extended leadpipe that would have put her in F and the organist in D. Trumpet and organ is a great combination.

  • I have a feeling its a n Eb soprano or Picalo because of its size

  • its a Bb Pic. with an adjustible lead pipe so it can be in Ab as well.

  • her trumpet sounds weird

  • your mom sounds weird.

  • omg! i play the trumpet but she is GREAT!!!!

  • She is quite excellent for her age. I would suggest using a C trumpet to play this because it just has a much thicker sound and it would match with the organs tonality as well. Piccs tend to be out of tune if you do not get a top model. Good performance and keep playing.

  • This was really good! I have only heard it played once before - at the Nobelprize award banquette here in Sweden in 2004

  • dommage que ce soit joué à la picolo...

le son rend pas génial... et c'est tout à fait faisable avec une ut ou une sib

    pas mal quand même

  • It seems to be good.

  • I wonder how much better U would/ could be.... If you have nothing good to say,...

  • Do you have to work hard at being a dick or does it come naturally?

  • It comes quite naturally.

  • Thou art a prize prat!

  • Great performance. I love Texas.

  • Not bad sound on the A picc. Need to practise more on the picc...Much more. Play pianissimo.

  • Excellent!

  • This is TERRIFIC----and I'm going to guess that Becky is a high school student...?

    Way to go, baby!

    Martin

  • It's difficult to get great tone from a pic trumpet, she does a lovely job! A different Trumpet Voluntary than I remember from when I played a lot, but there are several different ones out there.

    nice horn, Becky!

  • as a female trumpet player i comend her effort though a Bb trumpet may have been better suited for this piece and her range.

  • even though she is using a piccolo trumpet she is pretty good, hitting the right pitches and with good articulation.

  • I have to say, that was pretty damn good. I was pleasantly supprised how well you filled the hall with sound!

  • Um... tone needs a lot of work but then again it is hard to play on a pic but i've heard really good tpt players get a really good sound out of the pic.

  • is this a church?? Its a nice piece but i don't see how it works with the organ.

  • There are several versions of T.V. just as there are different versions of just about every trumpet and organ song. This is very well done. Makes me proud as a former trumpet player.

  • that was wonderful 5 stars i think i wish i could play the organ like that. They were both brilliant

  • Hey!!! You guys don't be rude!!!!!! This is the Trumpet Voluntary by John Stanley. Not the same Trumpet Voluntary from Henry Purcell! And she did a magnificent job! FOR YOUR INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What? What part of trumpet voluntary is this?

  • Do your homework before you post sarcastic comments! It's the famous Trumpet Voluntary by John Stanley. Just because you never heard it doesn't mean it isn't a real piece of music!

  • Well Done Becky, your music has brightened up my day

  • i got that dress, but it got straps.

  • excellent..period end of sentence.

  • The organ play did his job quite well!

  • nothing like a bit of John Stanley

  • Great Job!

An extremely difficult instrument to perform

    well on.

  • I though it would be Henry Purcell's Trumpet Voluntary, but this is a good one too. She plays very good.

  • I like this one. It wasn't quite the Trumpet Voluntary I was expecting, but it's a really inspiring sound and she plays it beautifully.

    Well done!

  • garciaj36, you crack me up lol

  • if you can do better let's see you post a clip.

  • indeed!

I don't see anywhere in the title or description that the person is a professional.

on another note. Becky Jorgensen, great job, keep up the good work.

  • You don't know good music when you hear it, sunshine.

  • A shame that the microphone is'nt bether, Nice sound...

  • the mic is great. i converted it to wmv before uploading, and the audio codec sucks. But the original is very good quality.

  • i thought Trumpet Voluntary is the common misnomer for Clarke's Prince of Denmark's March.... oh well, nice work anyways

  • I thought so too.

    I'm sure that it is

  • nice job.

  • I think it's a piccolo...but I don't arrive to see very good the instrument...

  • it is indeed a piccolo trumpet... not sure what it's pitched in but more than likely Bb.

  • negitive, piccilo trumpets are pitched in Eb or D about 80% of the time. Bb is for standard trumpets only

  • this musta been that 20 percent cause i promise this one was pitched in Bb (or has the ability to be). I will upload a video of me playing it if you don't believe me.

  • oh i absoulutly believe you, but you said more than likely so i figured you didnt know and where geussing, in which case, more than likely would apply to d/Eb. are school has a piccolo with 4 bells and slide sets that can be Eb/D/Bb/F

its nice alot of people are buying the conversions to save $

  • the pic is a yamahaa

  • Nope, A Eb or D Trumpet is a Soprano Trumpet, the Commen Picolo Trumpet is A or Bb

Bb Trompet is the common beginner trumpet, Bb Picolo is also know as the octave Trumpet!

  • Ohh i forgot F and G Picolo

  • What is that is it a pocket trumpet a cornet or what??

  • *sigh* this isn't by Henry Purcell, it's Jeremiah Clarke!

  • actually you are both wrong, it is stanley.

  • it is by John stanley 1713-1786 from his organ voluntaries

  • Good job, but continue to practice and refine your technique. Remember, the peices composed by Purcell and the other great composers of Baroque trumpet music knew the instruments of THEIR day, not ours. This can sometimes make our job more difficult, but I see great potential for you.

    Sincerely,

    A trumpeter

  • those notes are up there dude

  • piccolo trumpet? Anyway, I thikn she did a great job, but I don't like her vibrato. However I like everything else.

  • is she playing a trumpet or a cornet?

  • nice job!

  • Bravo!

  • eww who does the stanley pick a better piece next time

  • superb -who is the player?

  • Was there a sudden tempo change at about 3 minutes as a result of a little nervous performance glitch or was it something in the video itself getting hung up? I've saved it to my drive- I like the piece, great performance and great combination of instruments.

  • not sure. It wasn't the video, it sounds like to me it was planned. I could ask...

  • excellent

  • I performed this piece with a soloist, and this was the registration I used below. The organist did need to make the pedal stronger because the bass line keeps the tempo, which is vitial to the piece. Just try this next time.

  • For the organist, try this registration. I think it suits the piece excellently. This also will help in the bass line to be stronger and help keep tempo.

GT. - Foundations 8',4',2' and Mixture

SW. - Oboe 8' (or soft reed that applies)

Ped.- Foundation 16', SW. to Ped., GT. to Ped.

  • foundations, are those principals? haha, im sry i always thought their were three family of pipes. is thats probably a synonm

  • The diapason, a.k.a. principal, being the foundation of the organ, can also be referred to as a foundation stop. As for families of pipes there are at least four: principals, flutes, strings and reeds.

  • Yeah tuning is rough, center of pitch on trumpet sounds very nervous.

  • Pedal on the organ could do with being firmer

  • she is not 16...she is about 23. yes, she did a good job, and wow, she is my assistant band director at my school! cool!! teehee...

  • Baby whoever that picolo tumpet palyer IS-----she ROCKS-----nerves aside---(we ALL get nervous, darling....now DON'T we..?)

I have GOT to get my hands on

    THAT DRESS...!!

    Martin

  • Hmm - you wouldn't by any chance be fantasising about what that piece might sound like if she played it using the lower end of her alimentary tract instead of the upper - now would you?

  • @mogemoets What are you - a transvestite or something?

  • Wow!! Never heard this version before but that girl looks like she's about 16..sooo talented for so young, great job!!!

  • Way cool!

  • This John Stanley voluntary(arranged for organ solo on three staves) is published by Oxford University Press. His voluntaries, originally written on two staves, are available from another publisher. This piece was played at one of my commencements...

    Best wishes to all...

    Best wishes to all...

  • Overall, pretty good. The organist needs to play with a more march type style. remember this piece is a stately march. The key to this piece is not how fast you play it, but how crisp and controlled it is. The soloist, needs to play more march type. Trills were good. The organist's registration for this piece was a little too "in your face", possibly in the pedal consider adding a soft reed.

  • hi there, I love music but I'm not a technical expert. from my perspective this is beautiful.

  • wow, very nice

watch out for the tuning though, especially near the end...guess you got a little tired

    but great work!

  • Very Good. Love it!

  • Who wrote this arrangement? I would like to find the organ accompaniment.

  • Nice job, watch for splattering on your notes, maybe its the audio, but try to keep a nice lofty tone.

  • Becky's awesome. :) And other things for lack of other terms.

  • Fantastic playing! Beautiful! The Stanley is by far my favourite voluntary...thanks for sharing this performance!!

  • Very nice job. Nothing weird about that arrangement at all.

  • nice but a weird arrangment
