  • I love the sound of that Martin. I did a top ten BTMV list for a recently project. This made the cut out of scores I listened to. I like your straight ahead arraignment and good playing.

  • I like this arrangement. Quiet and simply yet with a driving sense of momentum. Simply lovely. You've got some great talent!

  • Joyous.

  • Just a tad too fast but overall very well played in your chord changes.

  • Wow!

  • more apt to be a finger picking or blues, whereas the j 50 is good for banging out chords/ bluegrass/etc and not as optimal for "fingerstyle"

  • nah just the regular 000-15. on paper, the smaller body size of the 000-15 would make more sense for me, as i personally find it much more comfortable, along with the fact that the majority of my playing is fingerstyle. however, after I played it i was left feeling slightly disappointed--the sound wasn't what i expected, especially after i compared it to a dreadnought (a D-16GT) -- and there's my dilemma.

  • ive got a really tough decision between a 000-15 and this '66 j50 ive found on ebay

ive already tried out the 000-15 but have no way of trying out the j50.

    anyone have any input?

  • they are two different animals. Do you mean a 00015 S (12th fret neck joint)

The J 50 being a dreadnaught will be somewhat louder with more punch on the bass end I suspect. By joining the neck at the 12th fret instead of the 14th you change the sound as well as the string tension on the 00015S. They will play different as well, theJ50 feeling like it is strung "tighter". the 00015 is

  • Great sound dobrodoc.

It is true that changes the sound in relation to a 14th fret, due to the biggest box of 12th fret. But I do not have to vary the tension of the strings would have the same scale.

  • Boy that 000-15S sounds rich and sweet

You should hear this with a 5.1 surround system - unbelievable sound and your playing arrangement and performance is absolutedly enchanting.

    IMHO, that's Gold Record Material.

I have a 2004 D-15 Dreadnought (mahogany) and love it, but I also have a 65 Gibson LGO. A 000-15S and an N-20 or Spanish Classical would be nice to have in the stable too.

Funny how different guitars can speak to you like a siren, isn't it?

If you were a shop selling, I'd buy.

  • thanks so much. Yeah, I'd like to get a surround system some day.

  • If you hearing your music through a pair of puter speakers with no subwoofer, well, you sure are missing out.

    That goes for anyone really.

My puter sys speakers amounts to a virtual 4.1 but in spite of it, your music makes them earn their keep.

Sure wish I could play like that.

I am confined to 3 fingers - my pinky just doesn't want to do it.

oh btw, please have a look on my page and you'll see my tree and swing song - that recording employs my mahogany Martin D15 Dreadnought.

  • Hi, Sounds good on that martin. Great playing.

Just wondering do you have Guitar Tab for this song? I would really like to learn it.

  • No, I can't read tab. This is my own original arrangement.

    thanks so much for listening

  • are you amped? or just mic'd?

  • i have a martin factory installed pick up and I ran that into a behringer mixer before putting into the soundcard of a basic dell computer to record it. When I play live, this pickup sounds excellent though I think the guitar itself sounds unusually good.

  • Beautiful playing on a beautiful guitar! Just wonderful! Seamus O Riley, Acoustic Guitar Forum

  • thank you so much, I really aprreciate your kindness

  • Absolutely beautiful playing. That tuning gives it a sort of Baroque feel.

  • Great work...any tab on this one

  • Thansk, no unfortunately can't read tab. This is my own arrangement.

  • Sorry, whats the best, the 000-15S (12 frets) or the 000-15 (14 frets) whats the smothest and easy to play...whats the difference? Thanks.

  • The 12 fret neck joins the body at the 12th fret thus putting the bridge further into the center of the soundboard where there is more surface area to generate tone. Some think this gives it a richer deeper tone. It's not necessarily easier to play than a 14 fret though the string tension seems lower and thus could be perceived as easier to play. A lot of that has to do with action, set up and string gauge. If you dont need the frets above the 12th, I recommend.

  • I don't need--Ok thank You very much for your time...You have help me very much with my doubts. I love this guitar and yours the best performance ive seen here. Moves me. Really great.

  • I want this guitar...great!!

  • Sounds great. What pickup system are you using?

  • factory installed 2nd generation Martin thin line pick up with a pre amp installed inside .

It is one of the better factory installed under the saddle bridges I have heard.

I like the lr baggs I beam the best which I put in my other martin om21.

  • they are Martin SP light guage

  • Nice work. My son wants to know what kind of strings you use on your guitar. They are very clear.

  • Very nice. A well-balanced sound with skillful playing!
