The original used an FZR1000 engine, but that doesnt sound like one...and I'm sure he said V4? Anyone know what engine is in this now, a V-MAX perhaps?
Perhapse they did not have to make the engine.. but u who think shoving a no reverse gearbox into a car that does need reverse....... does take some thought, planning and hard work :)...
+1 on your comeback...but my statement holds true.
These guys did not have to engineer anything but a chassis, the engine takes care of itself. It would be better with a Hayabussa mill, though...more aftremarket parts availability.
I think the Radical looks better though...this thing looks like a suppository or dildo in tiny wheels. Plus the emblem looks gayer than Kanye West.
Yes it does look a bit like a dildo - maybe that is more honest than most sports car designs.. ;)
I like these cheap (kind of ) supercars made by smaller companies with a few off the shelf engines, some tuning and some ingenious design. They are still too expensive for me though so I'll go on dreaming of the day I can afford an Ariel 3.
@yanster420 I know it's not really current anymore, but when you could buy a new one they were around £40,000. A hell of a lot of money when you can get a second hand formula ford 1600 for around £7000.

Beautiful car! They should put hubless wheels on it to reduce unsprung weight even more and then fit a Hayabusa engine for more power. :-)
Hope they sell it in the USA. There are people who would buy this beauty. Just ask the Ariel guys how many Atoms they sell here!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
"...150MPH on the trotway, the poor thing screaming it's bolox off, screaming it's head off at 8 thousadn RPM, and it lasted."
Well no shit, dumbass. It is a Yamaha engine, of couse it "lasted". It lasted because you did not have to eningeer it, just the chassis.

The video's comment about a motorcycle engine lasting well in a small car chassis is a fair one.
On the other hand, you can barely 'eningeer' a sentence you tedious gobshite.

How about you blow me, dumbass?
SpeedingStudent 2 years ago
Also, the guy in the video is clearly a reviewer so he didn't design chassis or engine.
So I believe it will be you that blows me, take it slow now bitch.... that's it... right there...

Why do you think I am going to graduate school? So I can drive a beaten-up '93 Ford Festiva until I trun 65?! Ha!
I will have a motorcycle-engined car for the street one day, and I am confident it will be a Radical.
I can't wait to destroy those midlife-crisis, balding, hairry-chested, smelly old faggots in their Corvettes and Mustangs.
I live for that day, oh yes...

This was designed by Chris Craft and Gordon Murray. It's the lightest car ever like 800 lbs.
