I've seen the movie twice and those fight scenes are totally awesome, especially the prison sequences--stuntmen did a fantastic job and very realistic!--Mikey (Oh btw, look away on the scene when you see one of the prisoner's arms both being hacked off by a prison saw hehe)

as a huge fan of the graphic novel, i think this movie is going to be amazing, but obviously in a different way. movies and film are an entirely different medium and you cant expect things to be exactly the way they are; the film will become an entirely different entity from the book, they are really two different works of art.

"just" took out the squid...you're obviously no fan then!...the whole point of the squid was that it was inspired by a quote by Reagan who said that the only way that the USA and USSR would ever get along is if the Earth was invaded by another world...Veidt's culpability is offset by the unity it brings...that's the whole fucking point!!!!...Snyder is a hack of the worst kind...I urge fans to boycott the movie!
Oh yep I'm most definitely not a fan even though I've read the book several times and claim it as the greatest super hero comic EVER! To me the book wasn't about the squid, it's about absolute power corrupting absolutely. Did I like the squid?! Sure b/c it fit in the realm of the comic. But I'm not pissed off that it won't be in the movie. It could be a hell of a lot worse.
I fail to see how it could be worse?...Snyder has rambled on and on about the graphic novel being his inspiration and yet he's made cosmetic changes to suit himself...I can't see studio executives being bothered one way or another about the squid or the costumes so he's obviously made the changes to suit himself...I used to think that Alan Moore was being a grouch but now I think he's been right all along - Watchmen is unfilmable...or at least in the hands of Snyder it is!
I don't think most fans would agrre with you that the squid is the whole point of the comic. You fail to see how it could be worse? Are you kidding? How about moving it to L.A.? How about Rorschach wearing a spice girls t-shirt? Are you actually saying that would be better than removing 1 squid? If you think its unfilmable why are you so concerned with its filming? If you were so concerned with someone ruining a movie about it why didn't you or Moore buy the movie rights back?

That's actually bullsh!t. Fox is not going to keep the film from getting released. WB didn't pay them their rights to the film, so Fox is just trying to get their money. The film is still getting released. Nobody in hollywood is stupid enough, to waste even more money on a film that is a sure hit at the box office. WB either has to pay Fox a couple million of dollars, or give them half of the money that they will make from "Watchmen." This situation explains why "Harry Potter" got pushed back.
