  • I've seen the movie twice and those fight scenes are totally awesome, especially the prison sequences--stuntmen did a fantastic job and very realistic!--Mikey (Oh btw, look away on the scene when you see one of the prisoner's arms both being hacked off by a prison saw hehe)

  • you guys DO know it's just a movie and comic, RIGHT? it's not like arguing about this REALLY matters. i'm excited for this movie, and i loved the gn. it'll be a great film, and i'm not worried about how everything is going to turn out. you guys are, in reality, the negative ones, of course, comparing penis size. get over it, it's film! JUST TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT IS AND GET OVER IT!

  • as a huge fan of the graphic novel, i think this movie is going to be amazing, but obviously in a different way. movies and film are an entirely different medium and you cant expect things to be exactly the way they are; the film will become an entirely different entity from the book, they are really two different works of art.

  • for the love of God! come on, do not criticise a film that hasn't even come out yet! Moore and Gibbons had a vision, and i think the director is honoring their vision. I know a lot of comicbook films don't live up to their written versions (V for Vendetta and Constantine) but others do ( The Dark Knight) I urge fans to at least watch the first 15 minutes of the film if it completely lacks the mood and themes of the novel then leave and spread the word

  • i agree with you man...

  • i really hope they don't change the ending

  • Well, they have done.

  • They just took out the squid, that's it.

  • "just" took out the squid...you're obviously no fan then!...the whole point of the squid was that it was inspired by a quote by Reagan who said that the only way that the USA and USSR would ever get along is if the Earth was invaded by another world...Veidt's culpability is offset by the unity it brings...that's the whole fucking point!!!!...Snyder is a hack of the worst kind...I urge fans to boycott the movie!

  • Oh yep I'm most definitely not a fan even though I've read the book several times and claim it as the greatest super hero comic EVER! To me the book wasn't about the squid, it's about absolute power corrupting absolutely. Did I like the squid?! Sure b/c it fit in the realm of the comic. But I'm not pissed off that it won't be in the movie. It could be a hell of a lot worse.

  • I fail to see how it could be worse?...Snyder has rambled on and on about the graphic novel being his inspiration and yet he's made cosmetic changes to suit himself...I can't see studio executives being bothered one way or another about the squid or the costumes so he's obviously made the changes to suit himself...I used to think that Alan Moore was being a grouch but now I think he's been right all along - Watchmen is unfilmable...or at least in the hands of Snyder it is!

  • I don't think most fans would agrre with you that the squid is the whole point of the comic. You fail to see how it could be worse? Are you kidding? How about moving it to L.A.? How about Rorschach wearing a spice girls t-shirt? Are you actually saying that would be better than removing 1 squid? If you think its unfilmable why are you so concerned with its filming? If you were so concerned with someone ruining a movie about it why didn't you or Moore buy the movie rights back?

  • see above...read comments first before you challenge them...that way you don't look as big a dick!!!

  • If the original ending isn't in it,it won't have nearly as big of an effect. The whole giant squid thing was an amazing symbole that the only way to create peace was to kill so many people at once from someone new that the world would join together.

  • The film hasn't come out yet, how can you say stupid shit like that? man, what an asshole.

  • Show me where Alan Moore said I want I giant squid in this comic. He wanted a fifth dimensional phalymapod and Gibbons gave him a squid.

  • I never said he did so calm down and read my comments first before you go off on a rant...my point is that for all his fanboy kudos Snyder is still delivering a package to his corporate paymasters and by dicking around with the story to please himself he betrays the vision that Gibbons and Moore delivered way back when...i accept that cosmetic changes are part of the deal of transferring a comic to the screen but show me one example where it hasn't ended up in a celluloid farrago (e.g. Iron Man)

  • do they still have it as an alien?

  • i wanna see this movie

    the comic book is amazing

    its a must read

  • Unbelievable attention to detail. This is going to be spectacular looking film. If the story and character are half as true to the source material, this film will be truly great.

  • A judge has denied a Warner Bros motion to dismiss 20th Century Fox's lawsuit over Warners' right to make a film based on the graphic novel "Watchmen."

Ruling is potentially a huge victory for Fox, which could wind up as a profit participant in the film, and could cost Warners millions considering the film's box office prospects. However, Fox's legal team says it isn't looking for monetary compensation and instead wants to prevent the big-budget film from being released altogether.

  • i hope it will get released because if it doesnt millions of fans will KILL fox or at least boycott them

  • they all ready are

  • i know but there are legal problems that means it might not be released

  • That's actually bullsh!t. Fox is not going to keep the film from getting released. WB didn't pay them their rights to the film, so Fox is just trying to get their money. The film is still getting released. Nobody in hollywood is stupid enough, to waste even more money on a film that is a sure hit at the box office. WB either has to pay Fox a couple million of dollars, or give them half of the money that they will make from "Watchmen." This situation explains why "Harry Potter" got pushed back.

  • i think this will be awesome am readin the comic atm its amazing i think a mini series would also do the novel some justise with it being so deep and detailed

  • me too, im about 2/3 through it.

  • Very intresting. I heard about this the other day. Thanks for posting!
