I believe that there are "3" types of players. I dont think it is fair to generalize a player to be either a rusher or camper. I believe that there is a such thing in the middle called "PATROLING", which I am. I am the person who is staying in a certain area and always running around checking my corners. Also, for those noobs who say, wow your staying in one general area your a camper. Correction, camping is when you sit in a corner without MOVING and wait for some unlucky person to come by.

There is alot of rushers that are good but there's also alot of rushers that thing there good but when you destroy there spy planes they really suck and then they back out to a lobby that does not have a guy with a sam
When i begin to play cod bo im more campy not just standing in one place, but more taking the side routs and avoid the open roads after 2 hours IIl go berserk and run everywhere shooting everything that moves. But rushing is more difficult, most of the time get same kill/death ratio.
The games that I enjoy are those where the other players are at the same skill level, as I am. I don't have fun when one guy on my team or the enemy team has an exaggerated kill/death ratio. Again, this is just my opinion.

If your one way from getting a killstreak and you dont want to die then thats makes sense. But if your going to camp in a corner like on the map of hotel and watch the elevator and the steps the whole match then that shows you have no skill and you have to rely on ghost or ghost pro..
@sublimek Had a run in with a real camp hard on Hotel today. He was camping in the upstairs lobby in the corners watching the staircase and the elevators. He got the better of me. For some reason, my flash bangs weren't effecting him, and he was able to move away from my grenades, leaving me to guess which corner he was in and I usually guessed wrong. Needless to say, I wanted to find this guy and curb stomp his teeth into the pavement.

I think that camping is boring but people have a miss use of the term "Rushing" if you do what everyone says and just run around killing you will die. Rushing is kill someone move to new cover, hide, kill, move rinse and repeat. inless objectives that is a whole nother thing in that camping sorta is okay. It is only people who don't move at all that bother me that takes no skill and is not even effective cuss revenge will come.
@trento7o8 I actually agree with this. Camping, albeit a "tactic" and "successful", is really annoying when you come across it, and that's why people get mad. Im probly one of the biggest campers out there, and ill admit it.. Its also fucking fun. I camp on objectives, me and my friends win almost every game. If your camping to help your team win, like on an objective its fine, but if your camping to help your personal score like 99% of the players on cod, then your a scrub get on my level
The thing about camping for me, and a lot of other people is, I have no patience what so ever in CoD games. I know camping will get you your killstreaks, and a good K/D, but I can't sit in a corner for more than 5 seconds without eventually spinning in circles and then getting killed. IMO, it's boring.

One thing i can pick about you is that you don't play objectively here.. You're in a domination game and semi-rushing to get kills.. You need to go to a TDM. This game mode is DESIGNED FOR defending nodes and tubing/grenading groups of enemies.

IMO camping is very useful, and great way to play but should only be used if it meets one of these 2 circumstances
1) You are camping an objective, helping your team WIN the game
2) It's TDM where the whole point is to go positive.
campers shouldn't get all the bullshit thrown at them, if they are helping their team win, and not just tryin to get piss others off and get their 11 kill streak, then more power to them

I was simply wondering what people consider camping. I mean, I don't think holding down a building or choke point is camping, especially in objective-based games like Domination or Demolition. But sitting in a corner or looking out a window with you scoped in waiting for someone to run by is camping. That is how I always interpreted camping.
most of the time people bragg about how good they are and say they got a 57 killstreak but my response was look buddy you got a 21 killstreak because dogs and choppers dont count and for the record you may of got 110-5 in a game but did your team win?. I only camp when I'm sniping or when i know what my opponents are going do. I also hide whenever someone gets an rc-xd. I ALWAYS get targeted by those things if I don't.

I prefer not camping. However when I rush, I usually run into campers and get killed. In my experiences in Call of Duty Black Ops, the opposing teams camp eight out of ten times. I play Hard Core Team Death Match, HC Capture the Flag. I can understand people defending a flag. Normally 2 or 3 people defending,the rest assault. Most of the time, only 1-2 people rush, the rest camp. Watching people camp is not entertaining to me, because its not something I am able to do in-game, it bores me.
i find a vantage point or "camp" when i snipe. when i use an AR or SMG or even an LMG(unless the map allows me to get a vantage point) i will move around the map... slowly. keep in mind i play hardcore most of the time.
By far, the most entertaining gameplay is someone doing well in a competitive match. Also, don't compare TheMarkOfJ to SeaNanners. SeaNanners is a camper. Straight up, camper. I watch all of TheMarkOfJ's games, and all of them with the exception of maybe a few are just like this. Mobile games. Not blindly rushing, not camping. SeaNanners however, would rather setup shop in a room with a claymore behind him, and pick people off with a G11.

Well first of all you can't compare 78-2 rushing and 81-1 camping cause its almost the same score, rushing or camping, well rushing of course. But i think a gameplay is entertaining when there's enough >>action<<, and if you camp and you get a kill literaly every 2 seconds that's quite some action but if the patience of the player is required from the watchers(of the video) cause there are a lot of moments of standing still nothing happening then its god damn boring to watch.. :) awesome vid btw
I like watching gameplay of people actually playing the objective, rushing, using UAV, CUAV and Blackbird . I've never seen a gameplay with all three of those.
i think a more interesting gameplay for a more laid back commentary so you can concentrate on the gameplay, but a boring gameplay for an interesting commentary so we don't have to worry about what's happening in the video, but predominately listen.

Honestly, i hate seeing games vs complete noobs, i find it pretty boring. Big numbers mean shit to me when they were handed to you. A game vs decent players with mediocre scores is more entertaining to me.

Consider this... Maybe some rushers rush because they have to. Maybe those rushers want to camp and get high k/d's, because the people on the other team are camping. And if everybody's camping, then there is literally no action. People say, "Camp in free for all." I can't, because everybody else is camping, and nothing happens when I camp. The best game, in my opinion, is everybody playing the objectives to the best of their ability. And if its teamdeathmatch, then have ur whole team rush.
I dont know about everyone else but I enjoy watching someone play the objective and get a good kd. defending and capturing points is entertainment but add some killing to it and its the perfect gameplay
i say if im watching a guy camp and wait 5 minutes for a single kill then dont even post it online, but if someone is camping and still constantly getting kills then im fine with it .. basically if u get a shit load of kills other than noob tubing i dont care what ur doing
playing smart doesnt mean you camp and it doesnt mean you dont rush. i rush but i check my corners, keep my sights up around corners, and throw stuns down major traffic area before i run down them. plenty of machinima directors and players and general can get better scores than campers without... camping... also, campers arent really that successful...

a more conservative, "campy" gameplay style. Camping successfully doesn't mean you have skill. Rushing successfully doesn't mean you have skill. Using both of these tactics/styles effectively when the situation calls for it and being able to figure out when to use each of these is skill.
Constricting yourself to one way is never going to be skill; competitive gamers must be versatile.
I think the answer to the question of Rushing VS Camping is this:
Both. To limit yourself to one type of play all the time is not skillful unless it works every single time. If you are in a match that you can run around like a madman and destroy the spawn of the enemy team, and you recognize and utilize that weakness of theirs, then good. However, you must be able to recognize if a team is vulnerable to fast-paced rushing and - if they are not - then a skilled player would instead switch to
Great point about rushers actually need skill! All I do is rush, I hate being in a single place in the map for more than 10 or 15 seconds, I have to constantly be moving around. I'm the guy that rushes in to get those 2 kills and dies rather than surviving and not getting a kill. If you're a camper you might as well play combat training because you're usually not helping out your team very much, and just pissing off the opponent.
i play SnD and camp only on certain maps and i usually get around 7 kills. BTW i camp with my friend

This is my opinion.
Camping: silenced famas, acog python, ghost pro, SOH pro, 2nd chance pro
Rushing: Extend mp5k, Exten CZ, lightweight pro, steady aim pro, marathon pro
I tried both classes, with success, getting 20+ kills in TDM.
My conclusion?
Rushing, for me is more FUN, whilst camping is less so, however, both are equally efficient.
Camping gets you about 1 chopper bbird, dogs per game
Rushing gets you ~5 uav ~5 cuav, and ~2-4 pack/napalm
Rushing helps your team more than camping.

Reading the comments and he was right a flame war has started. I think that camping is boring but people have a miss use of the term "Rushing" if you do what everyone says and just run around killing you will die. Rushing is kill someone move to new cover, hide, kill, move rinse and repeat. inless objectives that is a whole nother thing in that camping sorta is okay. It is only people who don't move at all that bother me that takes no skill and is not even effective cuss revenge will come.

@trento7o8 I actually agree with this. Camping, albeit a "tactic" and "successful", is really annoying when you come across it, and that's why people get mad. Can't count how many times I've had a great streak going on, only to get killed by a guy, hiding in a corner, wearing ghost, with a silenced weapon, that I stood absolutely no chance at killing.
I can understand in domination, when you're camping/defending an objective, but in team death match? That's paying 60 bucks to sit in a corner.

If your camping to help your team win, like on an objective its fine, but if your camping to help your personal score like 99% of the players on cod, then your a scrub get on my level

The thing about camping for me, and a lot of other people is, I have no patience what so ever in CoD games. I know camping will get you your killstreaks, and a good K/D, but I can't sit in a corner for more than 5 seconds without eventually spinning in circles and then getting killed. IMO, it's boring.

One thing i can pick about you is that you don't play objectively here.. You're in a domination game and semi-rushing to get kills.. You need to go to a TDM. This game mode is DESIGNED FOR defending nodes and tubing/grenading groups of enemies.

IMO camping is very useful, and great way to play but should only be used if it meets one of these 2 circumstances
1) You are camping an objective, helping your team WIN the game
2) It's TDM where the whole point is to go positive.
campers shouldn't get all the bullshit thrown at them, if they are helping their team win, and not just tryin to get piss others off and get their 11 kill streak, then more power to them

I was simply wondering what people consider camping. I mean, I don't think holding down a building or choke point is camping, especially in objective-based games like Domination or Demolition. But sitting in a corner or looking out a window with you scoped in waiting for someone to run by is camping. That is how I always interpreted camping.

I only camp when I'm sniping or when i know what my opponents are going do. I also hide whenever someone gets an rc-xd. I ALWAYS get targeted by those things if I don't.

I love rushing it's so fun. I always do it and have always been quite good at it, but recently I've gotten a lot better.
I never camp, mainly because it's boring and it pisses other people off, but the only time I'll ever camp is when there's a spy plane and someone's near me.I'll wait forhim to come round the corner and kill him, but's that's all the camping I will ever do.

I prefer not camping. However when I rush, I usually run into campers and get killed. In my experiences in Call of Duty Black Ops, the opposing teams camp eight out of ten times. I play Hard Core Team Death Match, HC Capture the Flag. I can understand people defending a flag. Normally 2 or 3 people defending,the rest assault. Most of the time, only 1-2 people rush, the rest camp. Watching people camp is not entertaining to me, because its not something I am able to do in-game, it bores me.

i find a vantage point or "camp" when i snipe. when i use an AR or SMG or even an LMG(unless the map allows me to get a vantage point) i will move around the map... slowly. keep in mind i play hardcore most of the time.

By far, the most entertaining gameplay is someone doing well in a competitive match. Also, don't compare TheMarkOfJ to SeaNanners. SeaNanners is a camper. Straight up, camper. I watch all of TheMarkOfJ's games, and all of them with the exception of maybe a few are just like this. Mobile games. Not blindly rushing, not camping. SeaNanners however, would rather setup shop in a room with a claymore behind him, and pick people off with a G11.

Well first of all you can't compare 78-2 rushing and 81-1 camping cause its almost the same score, rushing or camping, well rushing of course. But i think a gameplay is entertaining when there's enough >>action<<, and if you camp and you get a kill literaly every 2 seconds that's quite some action but if the patience of the player is required from the watchers(of the video) cause there are a lot of moments of standing still nothing happening then its god damn boring to watch.. :) awesome vid btw

Consider this... Maybe some rushers rush because they have to. Maybe those rushers want to camp and get high k/d's, because the people on the other team are camping. And if everybody's camping, then there is literally no action. People say, "Camp in free for all." I can't, because everybody else is camping, and nothing happens when I camp. The best game, in my opinion, is everybody playing the objectives to the best of their ability. And if its teamdeathmatch, then have ur whole team rush.

playing smart doesnt mean you camp and it doesnt mean you dont rush. i rush but i check my corners, keep my sights up around corners, and throw stuns down major traffic area before i run down them. plenty of machinima directors and players and general can get better scores than campers without... camping... also, campers arent really that successful...

a more conservative, "campy" gameplay style. Camping successfully doesn't mean you have skill. Rushing successfully doesn't mean you have skill. Using both of these tactics/styles effectively when the situation calls for it and being able to figure out when to use each of these is skill.
Constricting yourself to one way is never going to be skill; competitive gamers must be versatile.

Both. To limit yourself to one type of play all the time is not skillful unless it works every single time. If you are in a match that you can run around like a madman and destroy the spawn of the enemy team, and you recognize and utilize that weakness of theirs, then good. However, you must be able to recognize if a team is vulnerable to fast-paced rushing and - if they are not - then a skilled player would instead switch to

Great point about rushers actually need skill! All I do is rush, I hate being in a single place in the map for more than 10 or 15 seconds, I have to constantly be moving around. I'm the guy that rushes in to get those 2 kills and dies rather than surviving and not getting a kill. If you're a camper you might as well play combat training because you're usually not helping out your team very much, and just pissing off the opponent.
