i really appreciate how folks in the vinyl community take their collecting serious enough to learn about the music they collect. this is awesome learning what you have been reading, anders. very cool.
Great Anders! Excuse my ignorance... but I didn't know that Derek Bailey wrote a book! I'm amazed and happy to learn that. "I have to have it" is my new catch phrase?! Thanks for sharing. Cheers | Eric
@AndersInStockholm Oh yes I do! I think he's one of the Masters. It's not an easy listening, but an essential one. I'm no musician, but I love his sound, tonalities. I just listened to a bunch of LPs from the Spontaneous Music Ensemble where he's in. We tend to remember Bailey as a lone ranger, playing in solitude. That's why a wanted recently to remember his more collaborative music & this SME gives good examples. His book you showed us expands this understanding of Bailey.
EXCELLENT suggestions Anders! Free Jazz and Improvisation are very interesting titles to me. I hope I can find them. The Arcana volumes look like they may be fund to dig into as well. Thanks very much for the suggestions. I appreciate it!
Im glad you like it! Well if you don't find Free Jazz and Improvisation in you store maybe they could order it for you. They have it on amazon also. A very good thread, I loved Bigstar's video. I will watch yours now.
Those books look excellent every one. The one on improvisation looks very useful and I'll be looking for that. Thanks for sharing.
