i want to make an analog tv station when the US goes digital how do i start?

im not sure if this would work but if you build an RF amplifier you can connect it to the output of a VCR and connect a regular television antenna to the RF amplifier. If your VCR has the video inputs, then you can connect a camera, a dvd, anything.

Look at cascading CATV amplifiers. Most of the op-amps are very broadband.

Also search Free Radio Berkleyand serach HLLY. Also look at amateur TV transmitters that can be recrystalled.

Interesting! My freeband station was raided in the early 80s. The DTI were very gestapo-like as I recall, and very aggessive in their prosecution. I was fined 300 pounds with 200 costs and loss of equipment on the same day as someone was fined 25 pounds for a very serious assault. Amazing times.
