Well, basicly he explains how he plays the snare. He says most drumers plays it 'flat' (like without getting their hands too far from the snare) and that he always though it was better to get your hand off of it and be ready to play the snare again.
@abucket888 lol...I noticed that, too. It's this video, mostly. When he's in black and his hair is in different lighting he looks a little less...Flintstone. XD
Is there any chance of getting subtitles for divx version of "Un Homme Une Batterie"? I've just found myself a copy, and I'm dying to understand what Christian is saying!
I agree with ronoman88 - Vander has a very Individual approach to drumming which is VERY refreshing and It's not about 'Soloing' but his grooves and fills - great stuff from a great drummer!! :D
Greatsh thats not great sound! Meme Bruford (album Time and a word) a dissimulé qu'il a fait des prises avec Asba en 70 (arguant qu'il utilisait Ludwig à cette période), mais cela ne trompera jamais mon ouïe très fine de batteur audiophile!! asba= sonorité de toms caractéristique pour celui qui sait reconnaître et apprécier...

SOMEONE TRANSLATE PLEASE ;-] .was he talking about sticking technique ?..
TheChiFlows 10 months ago
@TheChiFlows he said he prefers to stick the stick upwards because it rebounces, but when you're holding it straight, you need to lift your arm.

Merci (fa fa fafa)

@88sublunaire

88sublunaire 1 year ago
@88sublunaire
LePatay 1 year ago
@LePatay OK! Ca me va aussi.
88sublunaire 1 year ago

Can anyone translate this and just post it in a comment? Tell the uploader to put it in the description. Problem solving so we all can get better.

I wish they had subtitles this, because I do not understand French. What does he mean by Baguette? Besides that it is a bread.
fezkraut 2 years ago
Baguette means "Stick"
Be it a stick loaf or a drumstick.
The DVD ("Un Homme Une Batterie")has English subtitles BTW
and it's brilliant.
