The first bit is quite easy, but i always die in Fase 3. I got so annoyed with Lancelot Returns after the first 4 tries, that i went back to normal Lancelot, and beat the living crap outta him over and over again for revenge.

No, you should master a style and take full advantage of the Perfect Guard, Perfect Guard fills up your Soul Gauge, and plus if you mastered a style you would have started with some energy in the Soul Gauge to begin with, also having a high title also helps too. Easiest way to beat Shadow is to first time a Lunge attack and score as many hits as you can before he uses Chaos Blast, then its Perfect Guard to Soul Surge (Perfect hits are the way to go)

you can't do chaos blast

Actually you can, once you craft Shadow (Lancelot's) ultimate weapon (the weapon that you make using "Medal of Lancelot") and it replaces his Soul Surge attack, he teleports in front of an enemy and instead of slashing it he does Chaos Blast (at no extra cost to the soul gauge), but ONLY if you unlock his final weapon. You know you have unlocked it when one of its abilities is "Knight of Chaos".

I think you need to equip a Ddraig Gooh (the red sword) and play as Sir Lancelot to do that while using soul surge.

He has equipped items because for every one you equip on that raises your defense thee amount of rings you lose is reduced by 5

I don't know about it being worth unlocking Silver, but you'd be so happy once you finally beat him. I know I am. I've tried a couple of ways to do so. The easiest way would be to build up Soul Surge and go head on. I mostly chose to attack full force when he does Chaos Spear (You know when he flies to you) and attack while he's in that position. It works 75% of the time, though. Afterward, you can build up Soul Surge. Plus, knowing his defense and timing of his attacks can be helpful.

alright, i'll do it! FRICKEN CHEAP ASS CHAOS BLAST BARRIER. other than perfect gaurd, is there a way to get around and attack sha- lancelot when he uses that double arch of chaos spears?

Other than using the barrier, you can use that to build up Soul Surge. Afterward, you have enough, you can continue to move back as far as you can until he does that Chaos Spear again. That's where you can attack again. When he gets weaker, he won't fly to you, he'll teleport to you to attack. You can either use the barrier to block that or attack him head on.

Many people have other strategies of their own, but this is the one I used to beat him. It takes patience and practice, though.

Shadows attack patterns are easy to read.

The trick is get defense bonuses and then just go full offense on him (not caring if you take damage)
