Probably took a while for a comment...2 years to be exact..but I think this video feels like its a great tribute to one of the best science fiction characters I've ever seen. Davis himself was this awesome guy, I have a friend who had the luck to meet him on the set within the 3rd year he played General Hammond. Davis IS one of the best.

I just found out he died 2 years ago. I remember watching the begining of Stargate SG-1, and the way he portrayed his character in circumstances that were new to the base before there were procedures was amazing. He managed to show that his character didn't know what to do, but at the same time, his character was giving the situation everything he had, now that is acting. My condolences to his family. Don S. Davis... you are truely, deeply missed. Rest In Peace

Thank to him Stargate SG-1 were always been itself, but with his death, SG-1 lost a great person, giving that tv-serie the always needed social-thinking and wise-grandfather stylsm.

both dude he dead of a heart attack in real life and the writters wrote Hammond of with a heart attack in the season 5 finale of Stargate Atlantis and renamed the Phoenix the USS General Hammond

I never was much of a sci-fi fan, but when I was introduced to the SG-1 series, I immediately felt something that most sci-fi geeks must feel when that certain something just clicks. I especially loved Don S. Davis' character, Lt. Gen. Hammond: at once tough, resolute, and compassionate. SG-1 would not have been-and never will be- the same without him. And in real life, he was as equally warm and committed to life. RIP Don. You gave me hours of wonderful escapism.

Great tribute to a great actor. As a general Hammond, he was my favorite character in SG. He was my surness that SGC will despite all the circumstnaces make a right decision and that they won´t leave their people behind. It´s a great loss that he´s no longer with us.

Thank you for everything you gave to everything in life, especially SG-1. There were a few episodes I didn't find particularly interesting, but I stuck with them just to see you all working together to overcome your difficulties and solve problems. When you left after season 7, I said a temporary goodbye, hoping you'd be back. But now, you're gone forever. My sympathies to the Davis family.
