Yes, "the editing" is as a result of using the photo button instead of the record button, which will still act like a recording, but for a finite amount of time. That would explain the choppiness of the footage. My apologies for any confusion it may cause. I posted it as is just to share the idea to get people moving in a general direction for brainstorming.
