It is a choice that US cops choose to enforce their laws a certain way. For instance, I don't think your constitution enshrines the right to drive does it? @vada2000 Side walk is too small as you can see and they're not allowed to stand still. The cops brutally enforce this. Normally protests have permits and the roads blocked for a few hrs. But its just a technicality. They still have the right to protest and the cops could block the road and direct the protesters anyways. There is unnecessary conflict from this. Arab Spring started when a cop slapped an illegal street vendor. Think about that.

@TheBooban not so. the police do as they must to stop the problem. yes a couple of innocent bystanders get caught up in it but when a crowd is there it is hard to tell who is instigating. if the protesters used the actions the civil right protesters used it would be hard for the police to shoot them. linking arms and laying down show non violent intentions. it also makes the violent ones stand out i would think.

I agree about linking arms and laying down, but police would arrest them! Police are always shoving them. I'm sure if the police stepped in to arrest the rioters, the protesters would make plenty of room for them. The criminal is easy to spot, the one in black, wearing a mask and smashing the window!

It is a choice that US cops choose to enforce their laws a certain way. For instance, I don't think your constitution enshrines the right to drive does it? Then why shove the protesters from the road rather than block the cars from the road to protect the right to free expression? Which is more important? Which is safer and easier to do?

The anarchists won't just stand there in the open, they will infiltrate and follow the crowd. Protests take a whole life of their own, like mass crowds at a concert. @vada2000 There's less chance of that happening if they hadn't shot (too close to be a mistake) that marine in the face with a tear gas canister. Police are meant to protect people first, not property. Again they have their priorities screwed. Insurance takes care of property damage.
Should violence escalate, and it will, then get out your riot police. There is training to handle peaceful protesters, and training for riots. The cops need to go back to school and learn.

First people try to vote. They try to write to their congressmen. They try to youtube their displeasure. Then some try to camp out in parks. Then march on side walks. @vada2000 Side walk is too small as you can see and they're not allowed to stand still. The cops brutally enforce this. Normally protests have permits and the roads blocked for a few hrs. But its just a technicality. They still have the right to protest and the cops could block the road and direct the protesters anyways. There is unnecessary conflict from this. Arab Spring started when a cop slapped an illegal street vendor. Think about that.

Cops are normally trained to tolerate this. But this one cop flips out and smacks her in the side of the head with a baton! He can easily arrest her without whacking her!
