you forgot light armor. if you just wear no armor you are gonna get pwned if they find you. i suggest nightingale for light armor. i suggest it because it has that illusion magicka decrease so yea.

In Sneak do not grab Shadow warrior, You will be going invisible using illusion (Unless you don't buy it, Get Shadow warrior.) Also, Master spells are two handed, so if your planning on putting the other weapon away and waiting for the spell to charge and use, Don't waste your point on it.

A great way to level Illusion is spam cast the spell "Muffle." You can buy it from any vender (I bought mine from the Illusion master in the college of winterhold). Anyway, I started with level 17 illusion or something and had 100 after two hours or so. Very fast, very efficient. Thumbs up it if helps!

@doog1114 i would put a few points in just to be safe , early on when your sneak and illusion isn't very high you still have a chance of being detected , you dont want to be to be killed straight away

Conjuration is awesome for a sneak mage. Get Quiet Casting and send your Dremora pal into the middle of an enemy mob. Watch from the shadows as he FEASTS ON THEIR HEARTS!

I don't know how well it will work as I have not tried myself, but get Summoner perks for Conjuration. When you cast a Frenzy spell and you don't get caught( use Quiet Casting) wait for an enemy to fall. Then use a reanimate spell and have the fallen foe go for round 2. Again you may be caught more often if you try it on early levels without the Summoner perks but it would be cool to put on your own WWE match.

I love this build. I personally use much more assassin than mage. The only magic I use is invisibility, and I use a dagger with the 15x damage perk.

If you don't fancy alteration (i didn't) then put up to adept in conjuration as bound bow and sword are useful and give you the soul stealer perk, which can be very useful for enchanting

@Arachnophobic77 I'd not recommend, it'd take forever to make a build viable. If I were you, stick with the bow assassin which is amazing great and probably the safest build out there. But if you really want to play as a nightblade you could create another char, it'd be better.

@Arachnophobic77 I've come to find that illusion is so much more rewarding later in the game like after you have really built up your raw talent to do damage and sneak. illusion just puts the icing on the cake to make you the god of assassins.

@Arachnophobic77 Level 20 is pretty late, considering the spells have a level cap and the enemies scale with you (except bandits and the like). You could start off with Muffle, then get the right side of the perks and left if you need it. The first perk of it is "Animage", improves illusion (increases level cap) on animals, and may be a waste. The second is Kindred Mage, which is what you are after. Maybe go dual casting, but you are still handicapped.

@Bradtherogue22 Hey, Nightngale armor is pretty good as it has the muffle enchantment and less cost to illusion spells, but if you are gonna use daggers, then the one handed enchantment does NOT work! (unfortunately)

@darkermanz808hi after you have high enough illusion, go to college of winterhold and find the illusion techer, i forgot his name, its like dreves or something. After you find D guy buy the spell tome, it is an expert spell so you prob want the perk that uses half mana for exper spells

@tommoVSjack Use the muffle spell, i did and it leveled me from like 80 to 100 in 30 min, or the calm spell, just use it on anyone, they wont get mad, but dot try any other spell on NPC that you dont want to fight. Good luck

You don't have too, but it really helps the build if you do. If you just suck at using bows use the training dummies in Solitude next to the imp soldiers.

And besides that you wont be using a bow on most fights, once you get enough sneak + one handed you'll just be using a dagger. In the beginning of the game i used a bow without putting any points in just because i didnt want to get 1 hit killed by bandits.

@ItzRigo i thought about leaving restoration for what it is and put some more in destruction, use augmented shock, and then the disentigrate shock perk, then you can use a shock spell whenever you feel fucked over on a low health enemy, and you're safe.

Just wondering if it's better to follow the official guide? I just bought the skyrim collectors edition guide. My only complaint and wonder if the developers only use basic builds which isn't what i am looking for. I want a mater build I want to be bad ass I just need to know the right direction.
