@hugonunez10 normally its 16 with a parents consent in most states. Where I live (New Jersey), you can be any age on the wildwood boardwalk. As long as your not like 7 wanting your tongue done. Thats kind of sad. But over all, to get a piercing at a shop, its 16.
@ShawtyyEmoPanda i did the same thing for my lip (2 months after i had it pierced), and the retainer somehow embedded itself in my lip. i went to my piercer and he had to rip it out with a pair of pliers. i had a lot of bleeding and a massive hole as well. so not fun. i totally agree with you, no one should put the bioflex retainers in their lip. i do have one for my tongue though, and it doesn't hurt at all. like the guy said, just make sure its healed 100%.

@marloeslekatompessij mine took 2 weeks to be fully healed.. i have had it for over a year now, but for those two weeks, i just ate soup that didnt have pieces of food in it. and dont drink milkshakes either. as for ice, its best to just suck on the ice. not to eat it.

@MegaZombieMania i really doubt that guy would endorse you doing it yourself... it's much safer and more sanitary having a piercer do it in a shop. if your parents let you get your belly pierced there's probably a way they would let you get your tongue done. maybe you can do something special for them or promise to hide it around them after it heals or something.

@Natthix the barbell has to be surgical steel for the first week or two because germs and stuff cant grow on the metal but after about 2 weeks you can swap the piercing bar out and get a normal bar with clear balls on either end :) hope this helped you out.
@niTroRcFreAk5 - its gonna be pretty hard to hide it during the 1st 3 days while u're healing cuz eating and drinking will hurt; i'm sure they'll notice (so dont do those in front of them,hihi). it took me more than a week before i was able to change the jewelry...best of luck, dude :)

@Splat698 You can get it pierced with a quartz glass retainer which looks like the acrylic ones that is pictured here but is safe for a fresh piercing
@Icrackmyselfuptimes2 -- also, be careful about the placement of the piercing - mine somehow hardly touched my teeth/gums so I didn't have any problems, but the jewelry can make the gum line recede or wear down the tooth. I found that the bar was most uncomfortable (I also bit it a lot on accident) and that a horseshoe shape caused less irritation. Mine healed in about 3 weeks. :)
@Icrackmyselfuptimes2 -- I had a lip piercing for about a year and a half. I took mine out about 5 weeks ago and I still have a small hole; it's not very noticeable, but it's there. Also, the 'tunnel' from the piercing has gotten softer and less noticeable to me - if you're really interested in getting another, go ahead! Just be warned that it may leave a hole. Check out Sonny Moore's pictures, he used to have snakebites, now you can kinda see the 'dents' left from them. Hope this helps :)
@DelicAldin Well, if your hair is long enough, you can just style your hair so that it covers it, put a little hairspray on your hair(but make sure it doesn't get on the piercing!) so it stays in place, and there you go. It's not GUARANTEED to hide it, but it works, I guess, better than nothing, at least. :P
i don't like to open my mouth that wide when i speak anyway so usualy it is hidden unless i yawn or purposely fiddle with it in a way that it will be exposed
tongue piercings are super easy to hide, i had mine for 9 months with a normal barbell and my parents didnt find out. you dont need a stupid retainer.
@wickedcal90 this is wat i would do.... stay at a friends house for about 2 nights.. so the swelling will go down, and the lisp will sorta go away, then just dont talk with your mouth wide open, and cover your mouth when you yawn... thats what im going to do, and if i get caught im jus going to end up doing it again :)

@urbnistiq yes you can but you have to make sure the ball will fit the bar bell. its best to keep the barbell that you had in and keep the peirceing clean.
i understand hiding it for work but i find it stupid when you have to hide a piercing from your parents! piercing arnt fun when you have to hide them at home. eventually they will see it and make you take it out or you get to keep it but you get in alot of trouble.

@Natthix the barbell has to be surgical steel for the first week or two because germs and stuff cant grow on the metal but after about 2 weeks you can swap the piercing bar out and get a normal bar with clear balls on either end :) hope this helped you out.

@niTroRcFreAk5 - its gonna be pretty hard to hide it during the 1st 3 days while u're healing cuz eating and drinking will hurt; i'm sure they'll notice (so dont do those in front of them,hihi). it took me more than a week before i was able to change the jewelry...best of luck, dude :)

@Splat698 You can get it pierced with a quartz glass retainer which looks like the acrylic ones that is pictured here but is safe for a fresh piercing

@Icrackmyselfuptimes2 -- also, be careful about the placement of the piercing - mine somehow hardly touched my teeth/gums so I didn't have any problems, but the jewelry can make the gum line recede or wear down the tooth. I found that the bar was most uncomfortable (I also bit it a lot on accident) and that a horseshoe shape caused less irritation. Mine healed in about 3 weeks. :)

@Icrackmyselfuptimes2 -- I had a lip piercing for about a year and a half. I took mine out about 5 weeks ago and I still have a small hole; it's not very noticeable, but it's there. Also, the 'tunnel' from the piercing has gotten softer and less noticeable to me - if you're really interested in getting another, go ahead! Just be warned that it may leave a hole. Check out Sonny Moore's pictures, he used to have snakebites, now you can kinda see the 'dents' left from them. Hope this helps :)

@DelicAldin Well, if your hair is long enough, you can just style your hair so that it covers it, put a little hairspray on your hair(but make sure it doesn't get on the piercing!) so it stays in place, and there you go. It's not GUARANTEED to hide it, but it works, I guess, better than nothing, at least. :P

tongue piercings are super easy to hide, i had mine for 9 months with a normal barbell and my parents didnt find out. you dont need a stupid retainer.

@wickedcal90 this is wat i would do.... stay at a friends house for about 2 nights.. so the swelling will go down, and the lisp will sorta go away, then just dont talk with your mouth wide open, and cover your mouth when you yawn... thats what im going to do, and if i get caught im jus going to end up doing it again :)

@urbnistiq yes you can but you have to make sure the ball will fit the bar bell. its best to keep the barbell that you had in and keep the peirceing clean.

i understand hiding it for work but i find it stupid when you have to hide a piercing from your parents! piercing arnt fun when you have to hide them at home. eventually they will see it and make you take it out or you get to keep it but you get in alot of trouble.
