  • I take one with turbo diesel

  • I can do that to... :)

  • my X5 can do that..

  • 60 % de pente ou je rêve ???

  • @carpiste2008 .... yes. look at the right on the side of the staircase and you will see, it's indicated 60 percent on that blue sign with white capitals.

  • I would kill to have the G-wagen with a diesel.

  • RR is for old golf playin snobs

    G Class owns all

  • So, we must assume that both of you got an G and an RR??

  • @jironmeister ... who do you mean with both of you? I had the G in 2005 and the RR in 2008

  • Comment removed

  • @wodanowitz Not you... the other coments about who is better, if G or RR... I don´t got any doubt that you had those rides.

  • Doendt forget BRABUS wich converts the G in to an rocket!

  • looks easy

  • I think the G is better offroad, and the RR on the road. Just my Opinion. BTW, I had them both. First the G and then the RR, so as Offroad Instructor, I know what I'm talking. The G was build for the Military, just like the Hummer. And the Range Rover was right away a luxury car, with no use in the military as they had the Defender for that job, or better .... The Land Rover 109

  • Most 4wds would do that.

  • wo ist das testgelände?

  • @RSsCvL ... das ist die alte Teststrecke vom UNIMOG. Befindet sich in Südwest Deutschland, in Ötigheim bei Rastatt.

  • wtf?

  • Show me that with your Subaru!!!

  • fuck Hummer, Merc power all the way.

  • i would not want to be that jeep at the bottom, if that thing went backwards.... your fucked big time, especially with a line of cars behind you. not to bright..

  • holy shit

  • Now my grandmother has got a new way to climb up to third floor and get into her bedroom!

  • was this a G55? Is there a way to put the exhaust tail pipes in the back instead of the sides? for better off-roading?

  • No, just a normal G500. Not sure if you can put the pipes to the back at the G55, but at least with the G500, you never have problems as normaly, you first get high centered on the frame. Check out my video .... Mercedes G Gelandewagen through deep hole..... were you see the side pipe.

  • @wodanowitz. ive worked on my g55 yeah u can

  • I know a guy that made his g500 exhaust to a g55 exhaust. I assume you could do the opposite. i have a 2006 G500 and I am using 265/ 18 tires. I need to beef it up though. What tires can I use??

  • The G - Class is my absolutely favorite car

But not every G have got sidepipes, just the G 55 AMG

  • holy $H1T!

  • the mercedes G is the most durable and the most insane off road i saw:))..... i've got a friend that says the '96 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE is better... i don't think :>

  • You dond't have to ;-) One of my cars now, is a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee and having owned also this G in the video, I can tell you, that the Jeep has no chance to even follow an G in very rough terrain.

Dond't forget, the G has 100% lockers in front and rear axle. The ZJ Jeep Grand Cherokee built from 93-98 does not have them. Only the central visco locker wich locks and transfers power from the axle losing traction to the axle having traction.

    The G is extrem better off-road :-)

  • haha a friggin jeepcherio? Omg Eww

Thats like comparing Keira Knightley w/ a JeepCherio!

  • that's insane!!!

  • -How much will a "trip" to Brabus cost if you got the plain Mercedes G 55 amg?

  • Why would you want to get your AMG tuned by brabus?!

The AMG people know what theyre doing, no need for more tuning.

  • Sorry, that is not the whole story. AMG is the tuning departement from Mercedes-Benz, but BRABUS has the more powerful engine tuning. If you look for pure power, you will go to BRABUS.

  • I know, but the 5.5 476hp 700nm AMG Engine is enough. No need for even more power in an Offroader.

If seriously massive power is needed people should rather buy the 730 hp 1000nm Brabus SL ;)

  • Truth be told AMG could get even more out of the cars like Brabus does. They don't though because Brabus' are not always reliable when you need them. AMG's will work where-ever when-ever. Not to mention making the cars more powerful would send the price tag sky high, not many people would buy them.

  • crazy

  • Awesome! Did you guys try that on a G55? I'm always wondering the G55 could go offroad or not.

  • Hello enzo, the G55 has the same offroad capabilities as all G have. You have an electronical Tractionsystem plus the 3 Lockers. But..... you have to put other tyres on it. Cause the standard tyres on the G55 are made for speeding and have nearly no grip/traction, going offroad.

  • The G55´s Sidepipes arent too good for Offroading ;)

  • Sorry, you are right.

  • All Gs have sidepipes! You just cannot see them at the normal ones.

  • Maybe the G gets the new Bluetec diesel engine and you will enjoy the enormous torque that it delivers.

  • mercedes g class is the best 4x4 in the world

  • @germansharpshooter no man no!! LADA NIVA BEST 4X4

  • @scrokostas i know niva is good. i have driven niva 1.7i, a solid car , but the fuel economy is very bad. And why most of armies on the word have the g class. Man you can't compare the refinement. luxury, prestige, the sort of aura only a mercedes benz can have, and the most important thing the mercedes benz engine (especialy diesel ones). I have had a limited edition w124 250turbo diesel, it was fantastic, i felt like a king in the road. MB G class is the king of kings. good bye, best wishes

  • @germansharpshooter yes but g class is extremely expensive..a niva costs less than 1.500 euro second-handed and is a great value for money..and the fuel consamption is about the same man!! g class also burns a lot

  • @scrokostas i'm sorry for taking you time in this discussion. Lada has 85hp,125nm, averages 10.5l/100km, Mercedes benz g320cdi has around 224hp and 600nm of torque, averages 8.5l/100km. As far the price goes we all know mercedes would leave us with a very deep hole on our pockets.

  • @germansharpshooter that dumn right

  • @germansharpshooter almost the best in the world, only to come second fiddle to the Range Rover

  • @peanuts2105 dude , range rover was good (never better than g class) but now its poor quality, reliability and never can best g class off road. And the enormous quality that g class provides has stood for decades and still is top notch. Regards

  • @germansharpshooter The reliability was dodgy during the 70's and 80's even early 90's (ish). It was sadly built by communists in middle England who cared more about how long their lunch breaks are, unreasonable pay increases and "that'll do" attitude. Not good enough. Nowadays it is built by a highly motivated skilled workforce. To quote Top Gear Magazine. "Possibly the best car in the world. Certainly the best SUV, bar none. From my experience, I would have to agree with that statement.

  • @germansharpshooter but are you really going to take a 80000 dollar car and 100000 dollar car off road and the range rover is just as good and the reliability is much better with tata owning it and the g is sucky on the road with its live axle and the boxy body

  • @junnman1 hi junnman, sorry for replying late. For what the fuck do I (you) buy an SUV, to have the capability to go offroad, example. go hunting or going near rivers during summers for fishing and swimming, and if you like, you can visit the alps to skii and something like that. If I buy an SUV i would expect it to do this kind of things, i dont buy them just city driving to show false style, class, financial power. Thats why the G class is the best, it does what it should do. Regards

  • @germansharpshooter so then are you going to take the g class off road ever day. Tell me how does the g class hand on the road? and how is the interior room? Fuel economy? Tell me why is Mercedes taking the amy out in 2012 or 2013. Do you only buy it for the Mercedes name. is it really worth it. you can buy a cheaper car with more luxury than the g class and more powerful engine. then why is the rr called the king of off road. and the rr can tow more.

  • @junnman1 a g class can tow 7000pounds, its much safer than an range rover, it has child seat anchor points, and if fuel economy is my main concern i would buy x5 40d , with 3.0l straight six 300hp 630nm torque, that consumes 7.4l/100km, that will outhandle rr. and as far as interior room goes, range rover as as space of mini, in the back there is very very little room. I've been in one its just painful to stay in the back. The mayor of my town, owns one and he always stays in the front seat.

  • @germansharpshooter Where does it say that a g can tow 7000 pounds?

the g class can max tow 3500 where the rr can tow 7716 pounds. Also how is the ride quality?

Hows the steering? Pls don't get me wrong the g class is very capable vehicle my family has one a 2010 with a 2011 rr and i don't disagree with you but the rr is just as good off road and better on road. Also the g class stops from 60 to 0 in 127 but the rr stops in 121 ft a big difference don't you think?

  • @junnman1 when i saw the mayor of town, being driven by a chauffeur in his RR, sitting in the front passenger seat, i thought, what a conceited, vain spirited individual he is. But when the car stopped and he stepped out of RR, and opened the rear door to take his coat, is saw very very little leg room, like 15cm distance front to rear seats. then i realised why he could not sit in the back as he should. For me thats not a luxury cruiser. best wishes

  • @germansharpshooter The rr has a with variety of more luxury options like 4 zone climate control, rear recline seats style 3, leather head lining, and more?

does the g class have adaptive cruise control?

How about a 12.3 inch lcd screen for the speedometer?

independent suspension but cross lined so it is better on road than a live but just as good off road?

Brembro brakes with 6 pistons in each?

    How about hill decent?

No yeah thats what i though

  • @junnman1

I'm guessing you're a pro... at reading online manufacturers car specifications and reading up on material before you state your argument. Too bad you made some mistakes. You mistook the performance models towing cap, G55 @ 3500 lbs (fastest car for its weight), for the basic models, G550 @ 7500 lbs, there's bit of a big difference between those two kid. Who needs Brembo when you can have not only Mercedes but AMG Brakes. Want a much more luxury version? That's what the GL is for.

  • @tjwakaa If the amy brakes are soo good then what are the disk sizes? HOw about the number of pistons in each brake and what is the stop distance ?

  • @junnman1

the g class is 1000 lbs heavier than the RR, you really think 6 feet is a big deal?

Fun fact, a basketball player in his G class (drunk, sadly) crashed and killed a man, the G class sustained barely any damage and was still driveable. you think the driver cares about your brake size argument if he can live through a fatal crash without a scratch? the G55 would kill a RR in a race btw. idk where your resources are coming from but theyre wrong.

  • @tjwakaa you think 6 ft is not a big deal! Tell me would you like to have the range rover stop 6 ft away from you or the g class hit you? And the g class hit a man you bloody idiot and lets compare the supercharged rr to the amg g class. The range rover has more power then the g and the range rover is around the same weight and the range rover is more aerodynamic. And what both the mercedes and land rover dealers are wrong? and the web site?

  • @junnman1

the question is, what car would you rather be in in the case of a crash, if the RR was as heavy as the G class, that braking distance would be shit. id rather be cruising in my military grade G class. the g may have less pistons, but it puts out way more braking power. that rover is about as heavy as my w124 with stereo equipment.

  • @junnman1

i dont know about the rover site, but mercedes underestimates their written specifications to the safest level. supercharged rr? ever heard of the famous G55K? The G class defies the need for aerodynamics. whoops guess i heard wrong, the car struck a tree thats even better! go to college and take a brakes, see who cares about your stupid piston comparison.

  • @junnman1

and you must be a really crap driver if you worry that much about braking power

  • @tjwakaa or I'm a safe driver who likes to be safe instead of dead

  • @junnman1

Even if that's true or not, you're just another blind consumer that speaks ignorantly of things that you obviously don't understand the mechanics of. And i mean blind as in you could never look past all the bullshit and cosmetic appearances marketing will throw at you before making a decision. learn how parts of the cars really work and learn how to make a realistic comparison before spreading that bullshit.

  • @tjwakaa yeah okay

  • @tjwakaa so the range rover is just bullshit. o okay now i get it. the g class isn't bullshit thats why they got rid of the amg model in america and range rover added the autobiography yes yes okay

  • @junnman1

the range rover is a nice luxury car but its in a different class than the G, a military truck, converted for civilian use. which is why youre making a shit comparison and you obviously dont get it. they say theyre discontinuing every year, but thats a rumor cuz mercedes didnt release that info themselves, they did cancel the 3 door however, and theyre rumoring a new amg. and i didnt know the RR could write an "AUTOBIOGRAPHY." stop googling shit you dont understand

  • @junnman1

Let me continue. Hill decent? I understand cruise control (Mercedes has Distronic for the people dumb enough to fall asleep on cruise control) but a lazy ass using hill decent must not know how to downshift if not using the brakes. A LCD instrument cluster sounds nice but a mechanical one is even better for practical reasons imo. Suspension? Look up the G class Locking differentials since you're so good at looking stuff up. The braking is perfect since its 1000lbs heavier than the RR

  • @tjwakaa The bloody brakes are smaller than the range rovers and the amg brakes only have 2 pistons in the front and one in the back where the rr autobiography has 6 in the front and back and also half the people who buy cars with diff locks don't even know how to use it.

  • @junnman1

It shows you in little pictures on the button dude, you'd have to be retarded if you couldn't read them, 3 different locks means 7 combinations

and sorry, this is where were both wrong, I've been corrected as AMG brakes are made by Brembo. And I've already told you the stopping distance and weight of the car, do the math, pistons arent everything

  • @peanuts2105 ... just take a look, wich vehicle the military today chooses. Never ever an RR and even the Defenders are replaced by "G"s.

  • this thing is expensive...

  • 153 000$ brand new but you have every feature standard lie sat nav and all that is standard unlike in any other 4x4 like a bmw x5.

  • ONLY BENZ

  • Awesome!
